    Greetings:

It's surprising that Colorado isn't a heavier favorite (-150).  They outscore us by over a goal a game.  In other categories, we are roughly comparable:

In the for what it's worth category, take a gander at ticket prices.  Lower bowl seat are in the $50-$60 range...go to nosebleed and pay $25.

Midday slop ain't worth it, I guess.  That explains the 4 for $99 gig.  Mr. Market is tell CF and Dave his product isn't selling for what it used to.

Can't give them away, so very sad!!!!!

    The new 2022-2023 are out:

    My takes:

    A+++: FLA, MIN, NYR, CGY.

Success: EDM, DAL, SJ, PIT, LA, VAN, SEA, WSH

Meh: WPG, TB, TOR, ANA, BUF, BOS, NSH, STL, AZ, CAR, CBJ, OTT, VGK, PHI, NJ, NYI

Fail: MTL (WTF with this non-sense powder blue?), DET (second fail, only a workmark with no logo sucks. And there's no black in the Wings' color palette), COL (this logo is dull and the colors belong to the wrong franchise. COL and NJ have the same Rockies' colors), CHI (dull as well).

Question is: will their new moneymaking scheme be a success?  Probably not!

I have 4 Flyers' jerseys hanging in my closet, don't wear a one.......

Some truly abysmal numbers I just came across .......

Philadelphia special teams offered no safe haven. Their penalty kill was ineffective with a kill rate of just 75.7% (ranked 26th).

The power play was historically abysmal, converting on just 12.6% of their
    opportunities.

Was it bad systems? Bad personnel? Or bad luck? Probably all of the above, but there is
one number worth highlighting: the shooting percentage on the power play. The Flyers converted power play shots into goals with just 7.8% success.

Read that sentence once more. The Flyers converted power play shots into goals with just 7.8% success. Now, consider that the league average shooting percentage for
5-on-5 hockey is 8.5%. The Flyers were less effective at scoring with four opposing skaters on the ice than the average NHL team is when there are five opposing skaters. Hell! The Flyers were less effective at scoring with four opposing skaters on the ice than the Flyers were at scoring with five opposing players on the ice!

Fans joke about teams being allowed to decline power play opportunities when their team is in a cold spell. This joke became a reality for the Flyers. They truly were a less effective team on the man advantage than they were at even-strength.

To put an exclamation point on just how bad this Flyers' power play was: the Flyers scored just 30 power play goals all season. That's the third-lowest total (among 1,036 individual team seasons) in the NHL since the 1977-1978 season when the NHL began recording the data.

    Well, that was painful!

Because they could have had 15M more by staying in Calgary and a chance at being an all time Calgary legend and better chance at the Cup...I doubt working as a nurse at the best hospitals pays much...

Wow, what generation are you from?  She has a career too, and I'm sure hers is important to her and her husband as well.  Money isn't everything and nurses are very passionate about their work.  Come on man.....

What I never understood is how people, especially here in the United States prefer watching basketball or baseball or even football to hockey. The sport is most assuredly the fastest sport with back and forth action throughout. What I feel people don't get with the sport of hockey is there is not a lot of scoring like basketball. This is also in many ways why I feel here in America Soccer hasn't taken off. Soccer though is also played on a much larger field and can be a lot slower than Ice Hockey a lot of the time. The majority of the time hockey is all out action.

Believe it or not, I hear that people don't like the game because it's too fast, they have trouble following the puck (hence the previous blue streak they tried), etc.  So what we love about it, they can't get used to.  Go figure!

Maybe they can trade him to the flightless birds since Ron liked him and signed him to that deal and he can join Frosted tips.

    Anywhere but Philly.

    Even the Devils maybe.

    I just want him gone.

I jumped over the the game briefly yesterday and was shocked to see Carter is a Penguin. (Shows just how much I've been following). I had to check the net to see if it was the same Carter.

If anyone is going to the game tomorrow and can either grab me a print or doesn’t want theirs, please let me know. I will pay shipping and throw in a finders fee. Giroux has been my son’s favorite player since he started watching and playing hockey and I would love to get one for him.

**Apologies to the mods if my begging violates any policies.

Now I wish I was going, just to hook you and your son up!

So my birthday is tomorrow. I live in Maine, about and hour and half from TD Garden where I have seen ALL but one of my live flyers games over the years.

My wife was kind enough in her infinite wisdom to buy me tickets to the Bruins/Flyers game in Boston on my Birthday....IN THE MIDDLE OF A ****** PANDEMIC!!!!! I've been watching since Christmas hoping they would cancel this game due to covid.... Cuz 1) I could care less about the Flyers right now (org lost me this year....), and 2) I don't want covid.

She's $600+ in including train tickets and game tickets already.

So yeah, why the hell do they cancel the Hurricanes game and not the Boston game tomorrow!!! Can we just cancel the season already...

And of course.... Rask is making his big return tomorrow night. Shutout is inevitable....(should I fake being sick? Get drunk tonight and throw myself down the cellar stairs?)

Again, someone wake me up in 2023.....(hit's self over head with giant novelty rubber mallet)....

I think there's still hope that the game will be canceled! Don't lose faith yet!

    And Happy Birthday!
