  1. @DaeJeVoos That stinks. Well hopefully the game is broadcasted for you tomorrow. Something tells me it had something to do with the 76'ers playing a home game. In any case, pop over here tomorrow, and I am sure somebody will have a feed that will work properly for you.
  2. @DaeJeVoos I have used this website when I would be out of town and couldn't catch the game. I haven't used it in about a year. http://www.hockeywebcasts.com/nhl/201112/philadelphia.php
  3. @JackStraw I only think it is a good idea with the ladies. I like to see them not the banana hammock, tighty-whitie wearing dudes.
  4. @JackStraw You may be onto something
  5. @doom88 It was just a bunch of dumb hipsters that decided that it would be funny to not wear pants on the subway ride to work..... odd thing is most of them probably do not work. In any case google pantless subway ride. I wouldn't go as far as to say it is not safe for work as there is no nudity, but use good "judgement".
  6. @Hexy27 Read is just so damn fast. I would love to know his skating speed. Perhaps he'll make the NHL All-Star game and we can get a gauge on how fast the guy is. I would put him in the top 5 in regards to skating speed in the league.
  7. @Dynamo 47 Jay Bouwmeester hasn't really played with a physical edge. I think that is what separates him from the NHL Defensemen elite. He skates well, is durable, contributes on the offense, but lacks a mean streak that the Flyers really need. I am sort of content with our D. I just can't stand Lilja a second longer. Maybe they could get a 3-4 type guy that is physical and has the ability to clear the crease. I like Kronwall, Gorges, Eric Brewer, Seabrook. Not saying that they are 3-4 players, but I like that they hit and block shots and can keep the crease clean.
  8. The guy (Schenn) actually reminds me of Richards. He looked responsible in his own end, played with and edge, wasn't scared to go to the boards. Oh and can score a goal here and there. I need to see more of him, but what I have seen (minus the small sample in November) I like him. I think that is also a really good line with Simmonds and JvR. Side note, but Read kind of reminds me of Gagne circa 1999-2000.
  9. @Podein25 I hope not, but with Lavy's system the almighty dollar may prevail and that will be that. The problem as I see it is half these young guns are flourishing because of Lavy's system. I have an idea. Ed Snider makes a "huge" political contribution to the dying Russian Space Program in exchange that they send Mr. Universe to the outer reaches of space. That is all I can come up Pods..... Edit: is there a kidnapping clause in the current CBA?
  10. I am going to go out on a limb here and say Bryzgalov out lasts his coach due to his contract. With that said, the space case actually may be half way decent in a tighter defensive system. However, if we can trade him, I am all for it. If he is bought out, I won't lose a second of sleep.
  11. @FlyersFan4Life No he/she is not. I think I asked Digi as soon as I saw the name pop up on the message board. It is so nice to have fans from other teams that are actually intelligent and respectful of other board members.
  12. @Dynamo 47 I hear you. I was beyond pissed off when I heard about the fight, but then my head nearly exploded when I heard he was a decorated war vet. This punk that did this would find out real quick if the judge sentenced him to a four year stink in the service. Hell a one year pump in Afghanistan would have him thinking twice before pulling this kind of crap.
  13. I don't think it makes too much sense right now. If we are going to give up assets, it better be for a decent defender. As I see it, Schenn has not received too long of a look at, and from what I have seen, he has looked pretty good in his limited ice time. Coburn is locked up and probably our best defender behind Timmonen, so I would not move him at all. I have to look at this trade by forward thinking. If the trade were to go down, how would it best help the Flyers? I say JvR since his extension has not kicked in and it was a little premature to give him that kind of coin. Next I would perhaps package Carle. I like him, for the most part, but he is a FA at the end of the season and the Flyers may not have enough to sign him to what his agent may be asking for. And in typical Holmgren fashion, a draft pick MUST be included. I propose JvR, Carle, 2nd We get Ryan and Sbisa. I think the numbers work, but....
  14. @terp How about Shelley? He is a great locker room guy. Wink wink, nudge nudge.....
  15. @Dynamo 47 What branch were you in? Parris Island squared my ass away in about nano seconds after getting off the bus onto the "yellow footprints". These jokers would get eaten alive on the Island.
  16. Well it's not a party without K-tw@t. We're going to need him to chime in soon. I know he is on the side lines waiting...... I bet you would love a team full of Hatchers and Rathjes. Bob Clarke is that you?
  17. @JackStraw Well I do like Steve's Prince of Steaks the best....
  18. @JackStraw Don't get me wrong I am not trying to be a cheese steak elitist here and I believe Geno's and Pat's are good, but I would NEVER in a million years go there after any Philly sporting event let alone a big event like the WC. In any case, I am not saying what happened was right, but let's be honest with ourselves here. Why in the world would they go to Geno's in their dumb Rangers gear and expect to not be harassed? I doubt these guys were just waiting in line when all the sudden they got blind sided. I am pretty sure they both exchanged some kind words. In any case it is typical that the media makes way more out of it then needs be. Since it is Philadelphia it has to be national news.
  19. Oh yeah and for those that are interested, I heard the 76'ers are hosting an outdoor game at the Observatory Playground in Upper Darby PA.
  20. It was me. I was so pissed when I got my tourist, err umm, I mean cheese steak wit instead of witout and I had to take my frustration out on somebody. 1) What true self loving Philadelphian would go to either Geno's or Pat's? I tell you who, an a-hole looking for trouble. Or B some wanna be from the far realms of Berks County (50 miles from the city) Philly-ing it up for his home town crowd. I read the 700 level FB sh!t and you have to be kidding me. This tool probably couldn't name 10 Flyers on the all time list, let alone spell his own name the same way three times. This is why I choose to watch from the comfort of my couch and just beat my couch cushions up.
  21. I think it is supposed to be their 3rd jersey going into next season.
  22. I think the WC got such low ratings because it was on 1/2/12 (a Monday that many people had to work) and it took place smack in the middle of College Bowl day. I know they could not do the 1st due to competition with NFL, but maybe Saturday 12/31 would have been a better option. I highly doubt Colorado or San Jose will drawl better ratings or Toronto will pull better ratings in the US market. I think this was the best WC I have witnessed so far and not because the Flyers were in it, but because the weekend event that they made out of it. The venue and the rivalry. HBO also has done a great job promoting the sport. I have friends that live in West Virginia and North Dakota that were chirping about it due to HBO. I think the best thing to do moving forward is merge the Winter and the Heritage Classic. Include Canadian teams and see how the event goes when they are playing an outdoor game in Winnipeg in January. All in all, this is a great venue to promote the sport despite the ratings. Again, in my meaningless opinion, if it were on Saturday I think the ratings would have been better.
  23. I like the looks of your suggested lines. I would like to see Talbot on the 3rd and either Simmonds or JvR on the 4th. It is a lot of depth when I can say a player like JvR or Cooter could be on the 4th line. Wonder is Mr. Universe will be in net tonight?
  24. I've played in both a B and C league and I enjoyed the C much more. Problem is with a lot of rinks the A level has been all but eliminated forcing a lot of B teams into the C world; which isn't all that bad, it makes the C teams play a little harder. I played with a few ECH'ers and for the most part I did not like them. I did not like that they come into an over 30 league on a Sunday and act like they are playing for Lord Stanleys Holy Grail. All in all there are competitive jerks at all levels in all sports. I've been around this game long enough to know that. Anyhow, thanks for the blog, it brought back some memories of playing. If you don't mind me asking, where do you officiate? My last serious days were in Oaks at Center Ice. Before that I used to play for HNA.
  25. Wait no Ilya Bryzgalov? I thought his contract endorsements alone could buy the trophy.....
