  1. It's the slow season. In the absence of real news writers have to report on something
  2. Sometimes I don't have to look farther then a few select posts on our little forum Present company excluded, of course
  3. Your pessimism is understandable. As a Flyer fan, you've earned the right. I just don't think this is the case any longer. There was a real good article about Hilferty online. The guy sounds legit. Briere sounds legit. I think they are aware that the fanbase has had enough, and it's starting to hurt. They also know that the fans are smart enough to know which office the clowns reside in. For them to put it out there that this time is different, really opens them up. More of the same could cost them dearly, and they know it
  4. Maybe "some", but I don't think it would be much. To your point, I doubt it matters now. Considering how long the rebuild was ignored, and we all suspected it was because of those idiots, and now its here, tells me that they have been put out to pasture. I don't think they all of a sudden woke up, took a double shot of Ensure, removed their heads from their asses and decided to let DB run with it. It doesnt make much sense to me, after deciding to rebuild, that Homer could stagger into the head office and convince them there is some overvalued UFA they have to have in order to get them over the hump. Its counterproductive
  5. I guess the easy answer is just keep him. At least they will be physical
  6. Hey, do really believe SL could go for 20 this season?
  7. And, I'm out. You lost me right there
  8. As much as most of cannot stand the bobby-bunch and their incompetence over the years, I've never questioned that they want to win. In fact, that desire to win at all cost has blinded them into doing stupid things time and again. I feel like this rebuild has a plan, and finally, i feel like they ALL are on board
  9. I appreciate ND () as a warrior. And agree or not with what his role is, the guy actually did what he was paid to do. But he's blocking a player who needs ice time. I'd like to see them move him
  10. I understand your POV. I see it differently. The life long fan in me has been reinvigorated. I have no unreal expectations that will be squashed in the end. This is the first time since the inception of the team that a real rebuild is happening. Im excited to see what can happen, and if it's successful, it'll be a fun ride I feel like I've experienced an emotional purge of decades of Flyers bad decisions. Now if I can just get people to stop talking about that guy who plays in boston....
  11. Dude is gone. Let him go. I want to forget he ever existed
  12. I get this, but I would argue significant change has, and is, already happening. The hiring of Torts, DB, KJ and Sharp, have nothing to do with the bobby-bunch. Neither does the fact that a true rebuild is actually occurring. Hayes? Gone! JVR? Gone! TDA-Hole? BOOTED THE FCK OUT! The drafting of Michov, and I suspect some more moves are coming None of these things appear consistent with how they have been doing things since....well, forever. I get the former Flyer connection, and I have always hated that. But watching DB, it does look different
  13. I agree. Don't misunderstand my point to mean I think they should be chasing UFAs anytime soon
  14. They are setting the stage. It seems like adding to that cap space is very easy to do. This team starts competing the right way and that pot of money sits there, waiting for that big name UFA(s) when the time is right
  15. This, 10x over. We can dissect the failings over and again but it's get you nowhere. Like @OccamsRazor I'm ready to move past it. The only thing I'm interested in having to do with last year, and beyond, is when the remaining dead weight can be jettisoned. lots of NEW, and exciting, things are happening with the Flyers. Theres plenty of things to focus on
  16. Other than Sanheim, no one is obviously overpaid. Coots and Cam are being paid based on what they did prior to injury. Is Allision a forgone conclusion? He can't seem to stay healthy. What's the Zamula situation?
  17. What does this say about the character of the player, a top point producer at his position, when a team will pay just to get rid of him. He truly must be a TDA-hole oh, BTW....I love TORTS!
