  1. Philly born and bred since 1967....i appreciate you bringing up Von Hayes. I hadnt thrown up in my mouth all day what's next, you gonna bring up the time Ryne Sandberg and Larry Bowa were traded for FCKIN Ivan DeJesus? Just kill me now! ...or at least reserve me a spot in the middle of the road so I can lie down next to you
  2. hmmmm.... So two prospects that may or may not be regular players for the Flyers, a draft pick that may or may not be a good pick, and a regular d-man who had a horrible year and may, at best, be a second pair guy? and the argument is Jones is on the decline at 26, becasue he played on a team that may have used him against his strengths, and an analytical report that says he has weakneses. Of course, that report is contradicted by other reports that still have him ranked top 10 to 15 best defensenen in the league I would like to know what other options the Flyers have. If they feel Jones is as good as top 10 or 15, then they should do it. If they have a chance at a lesser d-man, ala Nisky type, that would cost less, I'd rather see that. If they make that trade, my head would not explosde
  3. Well it doesnt seem like, in all these POV, that there is a scenario where the flyers get any better. Regardless of who is on the ice, the front office, GM, and coaches all suck, lack vision, and have no plan for the future. If that's true, then I'd much rather have them gut this team and root for a new bunch of losers to fail, instead of sitting through another season with the same bums we have now. At least a new group will give me false hope, as opposed to no hope. Plus the forum conversations will be revitalized with new subject matter to be beaten into the ground
  4. Fair point. I wonder if there is another side? I mean, it's a business, right? So, could a player make an injury look more severe if he REALLY wants out? Buffalo kinds sucks, really bad
  5. according to MANY on here, its time to move Coots also (i don't agree, BTW)
  6. Then how exactly do you expect them to get better? I've not read Farabee's name connected to any trade And yet, he signed Hayes and they made the playoffs because Matt Niskanen retired. Its been widely reported they tried to sign a more suitable replacement but couldn't get it done. They settled on Gustafson, who they admitted was a mistake, and got rid of him. Its not his fault Nisky retired Please do, you obviously have time to spare your opinion. I prefer to wait til after this season to see I'm not a sheep. I can form my own opinions, even if they aren't popular I never said this. Again, that is your assumption. You should speak for yourself, not me No need to feel sorry for me. I'm happy with the way I see things. My opinions are not a mistake....and again, ASSUMPTIONS on your part
  7. Again these are assumptions. I understand your skepticism, years of experience robs us of optimism. But we don't know what is going to happen. And just becasue a person fails in one place, does not mean he won't be successful in another. Hextall was successful in LA, not here. Berube failed here, but won a cup in STL. Personally, if Fletcher wasn't in talks for Jones, and other high profile players, I would be pissed. He should be looking at every option. And you aren't going to get top caliber players from other teams, without giving up something of value. No team wants our junk. And this team is junk at the moment. Without some big moves, they aren't going to get better
  8. isnt this just an assumption? All indications from around the league, point towards trades and roster moves not happening until, or around the draft. We can speculate all we want, but until Fletcher makes moves, or fails to do so, we really don't know what the team will look like next season unless there is something i missed
  9. in relation to the Jones/Eichel question? Jones is under contract for 5 mil next season. Its the extension that causes the problem. But that gives the Flyers a season to figure that out, and I think Giroux comes off the books
  10. I wonder if there is a scenario where the Flyers get both Eichel and Jones
  11. For me, this off season, more specifically where we are right this moment, is the deciding factor. There are no more excuses. Covid is over. The team blows goats. The coach aint going anywhere. Time to shape this roster. I want to see blockbuster moves, and I'm okay with gutting this roster. I suspect by the start of the season, I will hate this guy as much as I do Voracek
  12. Mike York would never serve popcorn. That **** would be gone before he ever got it to the table
  13. there is a big difference between a player slipping to the thrid round, and a coach/gm candidate not getting a GM job for over 20 years
  14. Yeah, I've had it. Its adequate. I don't drink it anymore. I've consumed it straight and with Coke. I prefer Cpt Morgan Private Stock, or, I just got this for fathers day... Wow! thats a big frggin pic.... anyway, stay away from Cannonblast. I drank way too much, woke up on my couch, took two days to figure out how I ended up there, and had the worst fantasy football draft of my life. you can't win with a roster of 6 qb's
  15. Im hearing you. I guess its all moot. If he does get a GM job, and is successful, we can just add it to the long list of Flyer misses
  16. kinda like what the Flyers did to the Maple Leefs when they entered the league
  17. I'll take your word for it. You're way smarter than I, on matters such as these. I don't know the guy from the next. I just think if he was that good, he would have been hired as a GM by someone before now. And, can you imagine the fallout if the Flyers hired some guy with no GM experience, and he subsequently laid an egg? Yeah, that would go over like a fart in church
  18. I think this hiring reflects the franchise is partaking in the other Kraken
  19. Look the girl behind dave has, when she realizes he doesn't know his dick from a hockey puck
  20. Maybe I meant another Jake? I think someone is hitting the Bourbon early
  21. Head coach of Kraken. Would he be willing to chance a pick on JVR or Jake? Will this help the Flyers possibly foster a deal to get one of them gone?
  22. Of course. You can't blame players for lack of performance, its a business after all.
