flyercanuck
The bottom line is that there isn't a single d-man on the habs that would make the flyers better. There is a reason why they are at .500 and the flyers are leading the conference. Subban doesn't make us better? You may not like the guy, but he is a hell of a talent. And nowhere near a finished product. Though I doubt they trade him for anything short of Giroux.

flyercanuck
@Flyguys03 I hate his attitude. I love the skill, size, strength, skating and shot. And as defencemen go, he's just a baby. I could see him winning a Norris or two 5 years down the road.
Dynamo 47
I like Hal Gill (he's a statue, but within his immediate sphere of influence he's not bad) but I can't see the Flyers giving up anything of value for him. Other than that, I don't think the Flyers and Habs make much sense as trading partners. No way on Gomez or Kaberle.Gill is a statue - Exactly. Put him orange and he becomes a traffic cone with not much more mobility.

Gill is not as good, but I think he's serviceable as a 5/6 guy.
xganarchy
I don't think anyone is saying Gill is going to be an offensive dman who will skate end to end. He'd be a compliment to a more offensive minded dman, someone to clear the crease and useful against big opposing power forwards (Lucic maybe?). Coburn sometimes has that mean streak going but other times, he doesn't. Same with Meszaros. I think most of our dmen are offensive minded enough to use on the PP but we lack a "bruiser" type back there.
