There's pretty much zero history of trading there, especially within the same division. Having said that... Say the Pens are in first place. Brodeur says this is his last season and last shot to win it all again. Do the two teams make an agreement to bring him in, play him and try to win, knowing he goes right back to NJ next year to retire?? I dunno. I just can't picture him wearing anything but Devils red.
