Buffalo Rick
Two wins on the weekend, one a shutout of a Florida team that was predicted to be the second best team in the East along with Tampa behind the Capitals, and one on the road vs I will agree a not so good Winnipeg team. So Bylsma has motivated this young team at the very least. They keep on coming. You cannot ask for more than that. Unless you are asking for a speedy return for Jack Eichel. Add him and Kane to this team, and maybe, just maybe you have a team that can compete for a low seed. I believe it. Before the weekend in 8 games Rasmus Ristolainan had 8 assists in 7 games. Not bad. He is one of the top 3 most important guys we have along with Eichel and O'Reilly. Reinhart might be coming around. That would be nice.
flyercanuck
Bylsma is an awesome coach...as long as he doesn't make them practise.
Podein25
Sabres looked good against the Jets yesterday. Good puck pressure all over the ice. Hardly any of the players involved in the big Kane trade played: Kane, Myers, Stafford all were out with injuries.
TropicalFruitGirl26
Two biggest keys from this win over the Jets were: ---Kyle Okposo producing like the Sabres are paying him to do. He'll need to keep doing that if Buffalo has ANY shot at clawing their way up the rankings. In the absence of top line players such as Jack Eichel, and to a degree, Evander Kane, others need to step up. In the case of Okposo, he is SUPPOSED to be a top line guy himself. Well, here is his chance to play the part and justify the salary Buffalo gave him in the off season. ---Robin Lehner. As with most teams trying to become playoff contenders, you need to have stable, reliable goaltending. Lehner has come under fire due to his ho-hum performances with the Senators and his penchant for constantly needing time on the IR list. Well, he's already made a trip to IR this year, but he came into camp in this season in the best physical shape he had been in quite a while....he now just needs to stick around, stay healthy and backstop this team, like he did in this game. 37 of 38 SOG stopped, many of which his team was short handed. Yet the Jets went 0 for 6 on the PP and the three goals the Sabres scored were more than enough for Lehner to pick up the win.
