  1. You are absolutely correct - it has zero affect except make the rest of us fans look bad. Many fans are just stupid and impatient, do they really think that the players need to hear themselves get boo'd in order to recognize that they have been playing poorly? It baffles me really. Booing is for the other team, it doesn't belong in our building directed at our players except for rare occassions (i.e. guys giving little/no effort or just dogging it). Booing your pp lines because they don't score is just dumb and counter-productive, IMO.
  2. This is a solid move and the going rate for a #2 d-man - so I have no issue with the deal. Not great, but a solid move for a young player who has played very well.
  3. I agree 100% - its like watching Jordan get every call the last few years of his career. The worst was their stretch in the late 90's when they clutched, grabbed and trapped their way to stanley cups all the while watching Marty skate out of his crease, time and time again to clear the puck completely free of any concern or worry - he'd just skate behind the net and disrupt the dump-in every time, whether there were players closing in or not. I know Hextall did similar things, but not the extent Marty did - it was just a completely bullshit style of play that essentially gave them a third D-man. It was a joke, and man I always wished just one time a that a player would come in and smash his skull into the glass one of those numerous times he would just skate in front of them and clear the puck. It made beating that trap even more impossible.
  4. Mojo hit the nail on the head - if this is any other goalie other than Marty it's a goal. Its really that simple.
  5. Part of me wants to see this happen just to see how the board responds
  6. If you read the entire article Snider obviously speaks about the "snub", but he also brings up some good points as to why he hates the entire Olympic situation and has no real issues with any of his players not going. He makes some pretty good points overall.
  7. Wow - this thread really suprised me because I couldn't think any more the opposite. The North Jersey Devils and Giants fanbase is pathetic. Fair weathered wine and cheese crowd to the T! The WFC has a similar element in the good seats, but the upper levels of the WFC blow away the Prudential center in terms of fan noise, passion, participation and people actually showing up in the first place. The only thing I like better about the Prudential Center is that they play the organ more.
  8. I'm with Andy S on this one - this is good news as far as I'm concerned. I don't want any Flyers in any of these meaningless Olympic games - I'd rather have them all fresh for a playoff run.
  9. How the hell are you a Flyers fan but hate the Eagles? Although I agree with your compliments of Kelly and his system/approach, I also think you are cutting the talent on this team way short. This team has pro-bowl players on both sides of the ball and their only weakness are their safties. Foles is playing out of his mind. 20 TD and 1 INT is not a fluke, dude is the real deal. Did I mention they have the best RB in football? It's not all Kelly - but he is part of it.
  10. Not defending any of "them", but Kyle's ongoing obsession is tiresome and lame at best. I bet you never met a karaoke night you couldn't walk away from?
  11. Honestly, I really hope he is left off the roster. This is only going to wear him down for a playoff push and run (hopefully a run!). As many from this team that can use the break to heal up/rest up for a second half run is fine with me. Its going to be two seasons this year, as it has been since the pros started playing in these games and the long break has been in place.
  12. Kyle's jealousy of this group is reaching epic proportions. Its sad the way he obsesses over their jobs.....almost makes me uncomfortable.
  13. @ Canuck & Sarspippus - thanks for the support, gotten testy with each of you over Bryz last year and defending the Snider comments this year - so glad to see nothing taken personal. I'm certianly not always positive or optimistic with this team, my problem is ignoring the fans who lash out.
  14. Hurts my ears to listen.......burns my eyes to see!!
  15. Looking at some of the moves: I don't think Bryz was entirely on Homer, the "must get goalie NOW" likely came from within the organization by most accounts (Snider). The only trade I question was Richards and I think there was a lot going on behind the scenes with a split locker room (Pronger), and a degree of immaturity on Richard's part that led to it happening more than Homer loving Simmonds or Schenn. I'd still reverse this trade if I could. Carter was a one-dimensional man-child who wore out his welcome and the trade was fine in my book. Looking further back, getting both Mazaros and Grossman for 2nd rounders were savy moves. The original downie/emenger trade for Carle was a solid move at the time Getting Harnell and Timonen for a 1st rounder in 2007 was an A+ move Had the Weber move actually worked I think he'd be on a pedestal, but not sure if he would have been worth the cap hit......can only speculate either way, but my gut says that would have really helped this team (i.e. pedestal comment).
