  1. oh you know me, +/- is the stat I never give a crap about LOL its controllable to a degree, but everyone wants players from the good teams first and I never have early picks because i trade my picks away Last year i grabbed several sharks, Sens and Blue Jackets, and hell, even some Buffalo guys. Some of them Paid off. but my +/- had to be near league worst
  2. My team sucks lately so Fantasy is all I think about lol The georgiev trade to Colorado just changed the game too. I have Francouz in 2 keep 5 leagues and he will likely get 65% of Colorado's starts lol
  3. Ottawa just fleeced Chicago bad LOL on the other hand, this makes Ottawa players more valuable next year in Fantasy. Batherson is elite and Tkachuk is excellent, so now they have 3 solid wingers and Stuezle can play line 1 or 2 with several solid players
  4. Ehhhhhh, I dunno if the kings have passed the Wild Yave. Kaprisov is one of the top 5 players in the league and Boldy and Rossi are elite prospects. Gaudreau and Hartman really shined this year and Eriksson Ek and greenway are both solid middle 6 guys who can pitch in top line duties. The kings top 3 Forwards are kopitar, Kempe and Danault. Byfield looks like he could be a gem someday, but he still only has 10 points in 40 this year. until he steps up, he is unknown. as far as their defense goes, I liked what i saw from Sean Durzi and Jordan Spence....but its still pretty thin. Doughty is their big gun and on LTIR
  5. The Avs are 13-3 in the playoffs with 2.75gaa and 0.892sv% from Kuemper and 2.81gaa and .906sv% from Francouz. I'd hazard a guess that Sakic looks at that and thinks that this team just needs league average goaltending and opts to acquire a cheap option via trade like Driedger, Vanacek, or Georgiev. Going cheap on a starter would for example enable them to re-sign Manson and possibly Kadri so the trade-off might be worth it. Bear in mind that Sakic showed an unwillingness to re-sign Varlamov at $5m AAV, and wouldn't go above $5m for Grubauer. He initially signed Grubauer to a $3.33m AAV deal, followed by acquiring Kuemper at $3.5m AAV ($1m retained). That $3.5m-$5m range seems to be the maximum he's comfortable operating at. Adding Francouz in both my keeper 5 leagues may have not been the best play this year as it ate a spot for a backup goalie, but its looking more and more like gold next year. Kuemper just had a 37-12-4 season with a good GAA and SV% and is 32 years old looking for his first big payday. No way does he accept a lowball on his last chance for a fat contract after being a career backup goalie everywhere but Arizona
  6. Have you seen him play this year? he should retire. And i say that as a huge fan. He had back to back surgery level injuries on both legs/Knees and isn't going to recover. He isn't a young pup. In 2016 at age 36 going on 37, he was 4th in league scoring, 5th for the Hart, 5th for the Selke. But few players can keep that pace at age 37, and he didn't the next year. Still good, but not great anymore. In the 2017 playoffs when his left leg got blasted and needed surgery, you could see he wasn't the same next year. Then that year he got his right knee blasted out. When you have any kind of bum knee/Leg and need to adjust style, it makes you compensate by hurting other parts of your body usually.
  7. I was also a Bruins fan back then...lol At that point the Bruins were the 2nd most profitable team in the league in terms of money raked in by Jacobs and had one of the lowest payrolls. It was a 10 year period where I watched them trade each and every good player they got as soon as they wanted money. Jumbo was kind of the last straw for me
  8. Morr impressive. He needs 46 assists to tie 5th all time. And he missed 2 seasons due to lockout and played in a low scoring era. Had he played in the 80s he might be 2nd behind Gretzky
  9. Congrats @yave1964! As usual the all stars title is yours.....except that one time:) And congratz Hale on back to back finals. You will get the win soon!
  10. I keep wondering if we will get a nahana rematch this year. I'm not even sure I will beat Metadeke but I'm hoping I can keep this lead. Your match with AKOF is also a close affair
  11. Elite goaltending Elite goalies can have bad games and weeks. But their chances of being on are better regularly. You also thrashed me in 75% of peripherals. The scoring cats were always close, but peripherals were clearly yours. And those hold up even during cold scoring weeks. Your team is built to win. Some damn tough competition but you are right up there with them.
  12. Well played and congratz @ruxpin i officially concede to the better team you were not even in a playoff spot for so long your rise and subsequent thrashing after some very canny trades you gave me is standout. you have a legit strong chance, solid all over I'm rooting for you now
  13. Well. Let's see if this would have been a flop or not. Was going to pick up stolarz to play against former sharks goalie Martin Jones tonight
  14. Damnit. Critical error. Trying to make some hail mary adds and realizing Esa Lindell was taken off my IR today and they played already so locked from making moves.....
  15. Love or hate the last few years, rhe man deserves a statue for the absolute fleecing trades he was able to pull off
  16. That hit was fine. Play the puck, risk getting hit. It was clean. No elbows or anything In the 80s, defensemen couldn't even play the puck without fear of getting hit in the numbers face first into the boards lol, so many of them just panic tossed the puck or avoided corners.
  17. Seeing reports that he may have passed away? But this could be untrue as I do not see official news sources anymore and a few retractions. I met him once when he was a spokesman for Stihl and they had an event at my old Hotel. They asked all the managers who wanted to meet him and bring him into the back area before his presentation and I jumped at the chance. I actually have an autographed picture somewhere in my old workplace stuff. He was a very nice guy and way taller than I thought he would be. im 6 feet tall and he was a few inches taller than I am, or he was wearing boots that made him way taller. The man was the straw that stirred the drink on the Isles. Often forgotten is how Bossy could play on any line with any 2 linemates, and score the exact same amount as he would with Trottier and Gillies. While those two suffered if Bossy was not on their line. Bossy was also excellent defensively, as anyone on an Al Arbour defensive system had to be, but overshadowed by his more physical defensive teammates in that regard to the point that kids today who did not see how good defensively he was assume he was carried. Nobody carried Boss. but Boss carried many. Trottier needed knee surgery one offseason and gillies was banged up too near retirement and was visibly not playing well, so he got bumped down the lineup in 85 and they put Sutter, a pure defensive center with not a lot of offensive talent with Bossy and Toneli. And yeah, Sutter hit 42 goals and 102 points for the first and only time in his career of 49-60 point averages. Tonelli had a career year too with 42 goals and 100 points. Bossy was one of those guys who just elevated his teammates no matter who they were. He was that good. The man would take something like 20 cross checks to the back and neck a night and just keep getting up like a cyborg and scoring. Tough as nails, and still stood by his principles not to fight or goon it up. The last time I thought of Bossy and of modern players wondering if anyone had the heart and relentless will to keep getting up that Bossy had was when Captain American was getting back alley mugged by the Preds. and that was mild compared to what Bossy put up with in the goon era
  18. I don't do rubbers. And tears are all the lube we will need. Remains to be seen who will be the bottom though
  19. Congratz @yave1964on yet another presidents trophy. And congratz to @bbgarnettfor surging into 2nd and taking that bi spot. Damnit. Lol Good luck @ruxpinfor our 1st round match
  20. If sorokin comes off IR and kahkonen does well with the sharks(lol). That trade and injury may well mess up his first round unless sorokin comes back quick and kahk has a hot streak. Granted andersen is a strong goalie. But nice daws isn't yet. I am kicking myself for dropping strome and Thompson though. Hf scooped them both The funny thing is, we would be splitting starts in the 1st and 2nd round because I have Reimer and raanta. And I don't like it but I have to hold both due to goalie injury volatility. Can't drop francouz either because Colorado has back to back games in every round and he is money when he plays.
  21. Yeah, and I distinctly remember praying nobody would trade mad dog a goalie. Then someone did lol. His offense terrifies me. Kinda like dumba's in this league. Hoped he would not get a goalie either. Hf101 always drafts better than all of us and doesn't need to make many moves or pull trades to be competitive. I'm actually jealous of how astutely he drafts because I suck at drafting.
  22. The second part of that story is, you lost to Doc in the consolation bracket right after and it looked like you would be relegated to Conn Smythe due to not finishing top 6 lol. And yeah, I have some ground to make up to catch those championships But meh. I only count our matches together for the personal rivalry, which I find adds fun to the mix, even when I lose. You have knocked me out of All stars 4 times to 1, when Counting CBS, ESPN and Yahoo. I have won our only NAHANA meetup. I bring that year up a lot because it is the ONLY time I ever won the all stars championship and I haven't faced you in the playoffs since I don't think. Hale kicked my butt last year in the Semi's, the year before that season cancelled ended it before playoffs and Doc whooped me the year before. The other time that I remember you beat me by a fraction of a goalie point back in the ESPN fantasy days because of a goalie I traded you, and that stung me horribly lol...... So much so that I lied to myself and said i would never trade with you again......and I have made like 287 trades with you in both leagues since LOL. That same year was the first year after I rebuilt that awful team in NAHANA and I went to the finals with Rux there, where he kicked my butt. 2015-16 Rebuild, no playoffs 2016-17 First year after rebuild with the McDavid pick, going to the finals. And I was screaming like Sloth from the goonies "HEY U GUYS IM DOING IT IM DOOOOOOOING IT!" then Rux bashed me lol. 2017-18 Metadeke knocked me out 1st round 2018-19 jammer knocked me out 2nd round 2019-20 no playoffs COVID 2020-21 WEEEE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!(And I beat Yave in the Finals while setting the all time NAHANA record for winning 14 weeks in a row) This year, not so confident. I like my team and think I can compete, in both leagues. But the top competition is fierce in both leagues. And it seems like in Both leagues, my defensemen are just going down like cement in water with injuries.
