  1. Yes, the 3 selections in the first round are going to help them improve their team, but those picks are not going to fill the most glaring hole on the team and that is the goal tending. That will need to come either within a trade of free agency.
  2. Maybe it is Vegas being around all that gambling and such, but it seems like they get something set in their head and they know what they want and then they lay all the cards on the table and don't waste a damn bit of time. There doesn't seem to be any bluffing going on with the negotiating they make. they just get down to business and make it happen.
  3. This team unless they make a gigantic mistake in the first round should definitely get one of the two top defensemen or Matthew Savoie.
  4. Wait.... I am not even a person within the Flyers fan base and I do know one thing about the Flyers and it is they don't have a legitimate goal scorer. From what I have seen in Chicago and from Alex DeBrincat that is exactly what the hell he is. Why would he be a good fit for the Flyers? Would it be the most of others players on the team already not being able to keep up with him? I just don't get this. And also the guy is young.
  5. Game 1 came and went without Kadri and Cogliano, but Kuemper was named the starting goaltender and even though he was not spectacular he did enough to get the win. I expect as long as the Avs keep winning the longer Kadri and Cogliano will sit out. Kuemper, however does have to improve because we all know last night's game was also not Vasilevskiy's best game. I don't expect Kuemper to best Vasilevskiy in any of these games, but he has to hold his own. If he gets a save percentage of around .910-.915 then I think he will be fine. He doesn't need the .920 plus that Vasilevskiy will end up with. Just let the Avs offense do what they do and hold down the fort of the other end with good defensive play and the Avs will be just fine.
  6. It is less than a month away from the draft and there are still several teams out there who have yet to hire a head coach. I would suspect these teams with the next week or so would finalize who they are going to hire as head coach so they at least have that piece in place before the draft. It is also possible that some of these organizations would want that new head coach in on the selection process.
  7. Dadanov will be turning 34 at the end of next season and if his stats continue to dip as they have since his 60 and 70 point years he could end up doing the same thing as Radulov did skipping off to the KHL for the huge amount of Rubles. It also seems like to me that Vegas is a team that just can't get enough of the wheelin' and dealin'. This deal does seem to favor them, but they do seem to do deals out of the blue sometimes.
  8. Seider is my choice too. Usually a Hard Apple Seider or during a cold evening a Hot Apple Seider. Even on occasions when I am in the mood I will just settle for a Cold Apple Seider.
  9. I heard a little tidbit of trivia today that stated since the Vegas Golden Knights have been in the league there are only 3 coaches that are the same as they were when the team started. That is Mike Sullivan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Jared Bednar of the Colorado Avalanche. That is pretty crazy that since only 2017 all the other teams have changed coaches at least once.
  10. What's the betting line that he will make it to 4 years, because what, because whatever it is I want the under?
  11. I am taking this 1 game at a time. Just look at the last series the Lightning were in with the Rangers. The Rangers were up 2 games to 0 and people were saying OMG the Rangers have the Lightnings number and it could be over in 5 games if they don't get their s### together. Well they did get their s### together because they have a good coach and a good team. So the Avalanche have 3 games to go. If they play like they did last night things are looking good for the Avalanche. I guarantee you one thing though the Lightning will adjust. I still have total faith in my boys and I feel they are the best team in the NHL.
  12. Glancing over the Flyers roster there are not very many veteran players on the squad. You have Hayes, Ellis, Van Riemsdyck, Laughton, Jones,Ristolainen, Thompson and Atkinson. I guess you could also throw in Konecny and Provorov, but they are still both kind of young. Atkinson, could have been a key contributor to the hiring of Torts here.
  13. My Game 1 analysis is that the Avalanche came out full steam ahead and the Lightning were not quite prepared for that sort of speed from the onset of the game. The Lightning came out playing a more physical game and from the beginning the Avalanche seemed like they were going to be worn down by that style of play. Both teams seemed to adjust to each other's style somewhat but I think it is much harder to adjust to speed than to a physical style of play. Putting the puck on the net is always important and in any game usually the team that does this at a higher rate unless the goalie is outstanding that team will come out on top. Both teams goalies were not at the top of their games last evening and they both have to step it up for game two. The Avalanche pretty much have to continue to force the Lightning to play their style of game. Keep the speed up and keep the Lightning out of their zone and put as many pucks on the net as possible. That will lead to success for the Avalanche. For the Lightning they need to slow the game down. Play a more physical style game and make those precision passes that lead to perfect scoring chances. Vasilevskiy also has to improve.
  14. So what is the consensus on this hiring in the city of Philly right now? I am not just referring to what this forum is saying, but what is being said on Sports radio and outlets like that. Is Flyers Nation still b####ing about this move and blaming management that this is an awful move that will not solve anything or are the fans backing this move and seeing it as a positive thing and something that will somewhat help the club move forward in there process to retool?
