Weird.  On my screen it's all XXX's   Does it keep the X's when I quote it?  It does on my end, but not sure of yours.

We actually pulled this on someone in another forum. Dude was arguing with like 10 people about nonsense, so in a PM, I convinced 8 of them to join in. I even photoshopped a post of his to look like XXXXXX.

I should do that to HJ one of these days

    Yep.
Dealing with the same situation in NAHANA as well.

I had gotten used to pretty much dominating the peripherals categories in our Sweet 16 League, but you took ownership of 3 of 4 this week and all other cats are mostly close, and for ONCE, I am not grossly outmanned in games on a Sunday (only behind by 2) :)

    Good match @TropicalFruitGirl26!

I went to bed before the jets game, but I had a "nothing to lose" scenario picking up Rittich as a Hail Mary and he managed to flip 1 cat and tie another.

At least with this win I managed to sneak into a Playoff spot. You are still in the top 3. I am Hoping for some easier matches for awhile. Playing the #1 team twice and the #2 team once in the first 5 matches set me back bigtime in the standings

I'm already losing all goalie cats so a hail mary with rittich seems to be in the cards.

    We meet again!

This time, instead of Ice Kickers vs Sharkticons, we have Star Blades vs Sharknado.
Good luck to you this week, my friend....but not TOO much. ;)

I do hope to get you close to that cigar, but not quite, once again. :bigteeth:

Hope we have a good match! May Beshaba and Tymora bless us.

Or Tyche can bless us both

Only a D&D nerd would understand that.

Another top team to test my mettle against!

  6. On the bright side, drafting too many goalies due to goalie shortage caused by 16 teams was a strategy I wanted to try due to my low draft position and it seems to have worked as I hoped in terms of returns. I can look at it as getting a guy drafted 5th overall for a guy I drafted 77th overall and getting a guy drafted 60th overall for a guy I drafted 125th overall.

On the negative side, one of my goalies is now Cal Petersen. Who I could not resist picking up when I saw him dropped because I felt another goalie could be an asset

  7. Trying to decide if I boned myself with this trade or not if Hart falls off. And I'm drunk which doesn't help.

But divine swine ice pigs trade Makar and Pavelski to the sharknado for Samsonov and Larsson.

I still felt average in goals, points, SOG and powerplay points and feel like having 2 workhorse starters in Hart and Saros may be enough to keep winning if I improve some weaker scoring areas.

John Gibson is rumored to be available as the Ducks are looking to make a move. Many around the league view Gibson as a victim of his circumstances, a great goalie trapped on a bad team who if he lands in the right situation will be the final piece to put a good team into the next bracket and perhaps lead them over the top.

To that I simply say bull sh!t. There is no player in the game who is more overrated Gibson. Period. Full stop.

He is in a lot of ways a victim of the Carey Price phenomena, good looking guy high draft pick, articulate and an intelligent interview, moderate to high success early in his career. Everything pointed towards him becoming one of the best goalies in the game. Lazy reporters continue to state that he is often 'victimized by poor offense' but the truth is that he has simply become a bad goalie especially since signing an 8 year 51.2 million dollar deal in 2018-19. He was good, not great in his first year but since then he has went 49-76-24 with his save pct. down hovering around .900 every year and his goals against consistently in the low threes.  He simply is a below average goalie.

Last season he had one of the most embarrassing streaks of all time, from the beggining of February thru April 24th he went 21 straight games or in other words a full quarter of the season giving up at least 3 goals a game. I looked back thirty years and found no such streak during that time. Think about that, the pressure the offense had to be facing, their goalie gave up 3 goals OR MORE night in night out, literally month in and month out for nearly three months and as the losses mounted the team took much of the blame in the press while poor Gibson was given more or less a free pass.

Same thing this year already. He sits at 2-5-1 with a 4.23 goals against. During these 8 forgettable performances, he has given up 3 or more goals 7 times so he has not gotten better.

He has 4 years remaining after this year at 6.4 million per, the Ducks undoubtedly would eat a portion of his cotnract in any deal and have a top flight prospect in Dostal chomping at the bit in the AHL. A team who feel they are a goalie away from contending,, Buffalo, Ottawa, the Devils or the crosstown Kings all could express interestand might even be suckered into giving up an asset in exchange for Gibson but buyer beware, this man is simply a fraud. He is a good looking articulate good interview pretending to be a winning caliber goalie. What he is at this point is a player stealing a paycheck, nothing more.

I personally disagree. I watch a lot of Ducks games and its not offense that fails him. Its the putrid defense and team defense.

but to each their own opinion lol

Granted We usually call him Mr October because he is known for strong starts where he makes 45 saves a game and wins games himself and this year he is having a bad start. A change in scenery would do him wonders.

I was listening to the NHL channel on Sirius XM, some good hockey talk on there. They brought this subject up and it really is a head scratcher.  I still think that the former coach got a raw deal.  Boston has had many home game but in fairness they have been very good on defense. And the goaltending has been there.   Toronto are the league favorites in the East and the Rangers, Panthers and Canes are right behind.  Pittsburgh and Tampa get their share of respect but I believe both are in decline. I know my Sabres are being picked by some to get in as the surprise out of the teams like Ottawa and the Red Wings, who we play Monday.  My biggest concerns are goaltending and youth.  So is Boston as good as their start?  I believe the Rangers are the best team in the East today.  That might not be the case tomorrow.  Yes they lost a couple of stinkers and the Blues have hit the skids too. But they are rebounding now. Toronto has yet to show their best.  They will in due time. They have too much talent not to.  I do not think that this old Boston team can hold up for the entire 82.   So call me out if you wish.  They will have their drop off.  And I would expect soon.

The former coach Cassidy didn't really get a raw deal. He was hated by the team, however good he was at coaching.

Bergeron would not resign until he was gone. Debrusk was asking for a trade, which he rescinded after the firing. Krejci hated cassidy so much he took a year off.

The Bruins were 51-26-5 with Cassidy last year and lost to a very good team in round 1 going 7 games.

They fired him because half the team didn't want to play for him anymore and were going to leave.

My bosses are very good at churning out company success and profit. But a lot of the workers hate their guts right now and no longer want to work here.

I can't blame you: Lucic destroyed Miller and the franchise that night. That dirty hit, and the pretty muted response from the players on the team, caused the organization to stop prioritizing talent both on draft day and in pro acquisitions, and they began filling the roster with Coke machines who couldn't really play hockey. The Sabres went from a team which had always been good post-lockout to the worst team in the league within a couple of years... And they weren't even tanking.

But why is a gwg worth more than a normal goal?

    I'm jealous.

Retired a multi millionaire no less.

I wish him well. He did well for me some seasons in fantasy hockey when Nashville untrained the bad habits he learned up north(as trotz put it)

    Scheduling quirk I guess.
I am playing the generic GM I played in Wk 1 also.

I suspect everyone is like that?

Playing the same person they did in Wk 3 as they did in Wk 1?

After that, the schedule then goes through each GM in turn.

Im looking forward to it myself. @yave1964and I had a match so close that a lot of categories could have flipped off a single point.

Since then he has steamrolled his next 2 matches 17-1 and 14-2(current)

But we play again for a 3rd time week 19 the week of the trade deadline. its like destiny
