  1. Me neither. If Burke trades Schenn he'll be looking for somebody to overpay
  2. I suppose. He can't shoot for sh!t though. Plus there's the 4 years of Leaf stench all over him to consider...
  3. @JackStraw - do I look like a Leafs fan? If you wanna know about Leafs players, go talk to Forbsy and those yahoos. Just kidding, of course. His numbers don't provide much of a clue. He actually leads all their D-men in plus/minus (statistically inaccurate stat!!!). My hunch: he might just not be that good. But who knows, a change of scenery might be just what the doctor ordered.
  4. Changed mine. I was for patience but now I'm for trading him - his value will never be higher! jk, of course. I hope he can stay healthy. One more injury and people will stop calling him a bust and start calling him band-aid boy....
  5. @activestick FYI Couturier is 19 now - birthday in early Dec - but your point remains. He is light years ahead of JVR in hockey IQ
  6. We could have just hung on to Biron if we wanted a piss poor puck handling 'tender. Biron is 8-2 with a 0.922 SV% I shudder
  7. Very true. I'd like Cooter to see more ice-time. Unlike JVR, he seems to make those around him better. Can't wait until he is our permanent 2nd line center....
  8. So more like groin pain, i.e. every time Giveagoalup lets a softie in, my groin hurts.
  9. Speaking of which, where the hell is that smarmy bastard @ruxpin?
  10. So, I'm the only one who voted?! I'm getting so le tired of these do-gooders destroying our game.
  11. Everbody had an interest in Read. He was arguably the most highly sought after College Free Agent. He chose Philly as much as Philly chose him. That's the kind of cache the Flyer brand has. I don't mean that in a smarmy way either - it's just a fact. Minny already has their version of Matt Read - Casey Wellman. He could turn out to be a good one. A RH sniper is a valuable thing and he is still learning the NHL game after putting up decent AHL numbers. He's had trouble staying healthy though. Anyway, I digress. Personally, I'm not interested in either Zidlicky or Zanon. The latter is too slow for me - a plodder - and Zidlicky has had a serious concussion recently. Too risky IMO. Cheers
  12. @Vincent05 - sure I'm all for getting a young D-man. Wish we hadn't traded Sbisa. But most 21 year old D you are not gonna want seeing out there for 20+ minutes. They just aren't experienced enough, with few exceptions.
  13. I'm now feeling more lost than normal on this thread @JackStraw Maybe we should return the discussion to how much Carter sucks?
  14. @flyercanuck I see you are continuing to work on your hate.
  15. @JackStraw Are you suggesting I go get drunk, rip my clothes to shreds, pour and level some concrete and then jump online and rant for a bit? How would that be different than most of my days?
  16. @JackStraw - I'm hopeful that it's actually a real word. If itsn't, that's fine too I guess.
  17. Problem is, many D-men don't really reach their prime until after 26. And by then they start to cost lots of $$$. Just sayin' For example, look at a guy like Bieksa. Guess how old he is (without looking it up)?. You'll be surprised....
  18. Agreed with most that we don't exactly need Ryan, but if there was an opportunity to "buy low" on him due to underachieving, we'd be crazy not to look at it. Same goes with Getzlaf or Perry or Fowler, Sbisa etc. If none of those guys are untouchable, as their GM said, Homer should be kicking tires. I'd take Sbisa back, for example, depending on the price.
