I blame Eric himself and anyone going back to his youth hockey days not insisting, that he skate more with his head up.
Oh, trust me, I blame Lindros lol. Why, I blame him for everything.
Yeah it's weird the head down thing. I cannot think of another player ever who just habitually skated around with his head down like that. It really is a miracle that he made it out of Bantam.

I always thought he was a total a-hole. I know people who have met him irl and have stories about him acting like a complete a-hole off ice. His father was an absolute a-hole. I wish we'd never have made that trade and think we might have won a cup with Forsberg instead.
Ya, he was a hockey star, but I just didn't like the guy. Have at me, it's summer and I'm bored.
I think your perspective is not uncommon. And fair.

Only three players in the history of the NHL have won more Hart Trophies than Bobby Clarke. Good grief; if that's not a superstar, who is?
Really? I didn't realize that

Clarke was
arguablythe best player in hockey for a few years. His game was 200 foot, he invented Gretzkys office (behind the net) he was as good as anyone, no, better than anyone on the penalty kill, he was hell to play against, great on faceoffs and all that added to being one of the top scorers in the league. I don't like the man he's turned into, but he was as fun to watch as anyone and you never questioned whether he took a shift off.Fixed. Also an underrated passer and playmaker.

Forsberg might have been the last player this franchise drafted that had the talent that Michkov has. It's too bad that by the time he got back to Philadelphia, his feet were ruined.
Plus he had the wonky spleen didn't he?

pretty sure I see head contact
Nah.
Notwithstanding what John Davidson is saying about the shoulder in the face, that hit is into the chest. Erik bends over at the waist and cranes his neck down to put his chin on his chest.
That concussion is all about Eric coming to a dead stop and his brain sloshing forward. The contact with the head is incidental.

Honestly, if head shots werent allowed back then, I really think he wouldve lasted longer, and stayed in Philly longer. I really think we would've won a cup
Head shots were not Eric's downfall.
The Steven's hit was a head shot for sure, and it sealed the deal, but Lindros problem was that he had his head down. All the time. People forget that Eric's first serious concussion was likely the Kasparaitis hit. No contact with the head: his body stopped but his brain kept moving.

Please keep to the topic. For now I have hidden ALL posts regarding the scandal, it simply does not belong in this thread. For those who are so inclined and feel a need to discuss more in depth, please feel free to open a new Thread in the OFF TOPIC portion of this board. (off course keeping it civil and family friendly)
Please note I am in no way down playing the severity of what happen, it simply does not belong in this thread and I have hidden many posts.
Thank you for your understanding.

I agree, we should get things back on track.
Weren't we talking about sheep? How soft their wool is, the innocence in their eyes, the plaintiveness of their baaaleful cry?
Oh, sorry, I digress....

The question that everyone wants to know......
Is Michkov a steak, fried chicken or baked ziti with Creme Fraiche (see the South Park episode) kind of guy?
What if he turns out to be halibut warmed on the engine block of a rusty 1992 Lumina?

This must be a rumor. Nothing showing a trade.

Let's assume for a minute that the Flyers know whether Hart is one of the players to be identified (because Hart knows and has told them). Would they not have traded him already if he was on the list?

Hayes was vastly overrated in NY. It says something that the Rangers chose to keep Kreider for the rebuild and not Hayes even though the former was older and they have very similar stats.
Well, Kreider can actually skate.
