  1. Hart back in tonight. Looks a little rusty. Flyers down 3-1 in the 1st. Edit: The team in front of Hart looks tired. Wings are out skating them.
  2. The Aves looked faster than the Flyers on the first couple shifts of the game but the Flyers responded. It was good to see they could skate with them. I think that confused the Aves a little. I only watched the first 2 periods. Couldn’t stay awake (because I’m old and schitt). Koneckny is turning into the player we all thought he’d be. The benching seems to have woke Farabee up. York is solid on the D. Lots to look forward to! Trade Risto now! His value will never be higher!
  3. Yes. Doesn’t happen often, though. The only reason they do it is because after so many game misconducts you get suspended. At least it used to be that way.
  4. Farabee is benched? Only 2 shifts for 56 seconds total halfway through the game.
  5. Yep…horrible call. I can’t remember the last time I saw I saw a boarding call where the player was hit into the boards at an angle like Hughes was. This is one of those times that we might see the game misconduct rescinded tomorrow.
  6. Looked like he tried a hip check and missed. The guy tripped over his legs.
  7. The Flyers had that in JVR. Did you forget?!? Now what did I do with that sarcasm font?
  8. I would put a waiver claim in for Jack Campbell. Then trade Cal Peterson and Frost to Edmonton for some draft picks.
  9. Yep. He got 4 games. @pilldoc, I don’t believe players get fined and suspended, per se. They get suspended without pay so whatever the amount of pay for the games goes to the player emergency fund. Players with the big contracts forfeit more money than the plumbers. McAvoy will forfeit $197,916.68 for those 4 games.
  10. Per TSN, it has been agreed upon. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/philadelphia-flyers-morgan-frost-agree-to-two-year-extension-1.2004454
  11. I thought it was tomorrow, the 9th? Either way is good!
  12. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/travis-yost-can-filip-zadina-be-saved-1.1981504 **Editor's note: Zadina was placed on unconditional waivers for the purposes of a buyout Thursday afternoon.
  13. What I’m wondering about is this: With his skill, at his age, why would he sign a 3 year contract with the KHL if he knew he would be drafted into the NHL? Why 3 years? That doesn’t make sense to me. Was it family pressure or some other kind of outside influence? Sounds like a military commitment, (can’t believe I typed that). Sign for 1 year and see what happens. If the NHL doesn’t work out right away, then play in the K until you’re ready. I don’t know.
  14. that Nail guy comes to mind. So insignificant I don’t remember his last name. He was a complete bust.
  15. what is this guy talking about, “…until his name is cleared.”? What does that mean?
  16. I agree with both of you. Unfortunately, Slavin was hurt.
  17. Surprising move. The pundits were talking about it on “NHL Tonight”. He has a pretty good win percentage and probably didn’t deserve to be fired. All 3 finalists for the 2022 Jack Adams are now unemployed, (as head coaches). That’s just crazy!
  18. I know, I know. It’s the wrong time to be winning these games. But how can you not love the effort of this team! What they lack in skill they make up for in effort! Whether you like it or not, that is a positive endorsement of the coaching.
  19. Briere was probably pre-approved by the trio so no need to contact them. That’s why they were grooming him.
