  1. Yes and unlike old time Flyer teams, we want guys with size who can actually skate and play hockey.
  2. Catton is good but considering Coots is shot and Frost our only other skilled center, is kinda small... I'd prefer Lindstrom, he's a better fit to balance out the team. I'm trying to build a balanced team of size and skill with finesse. So that's a solid one two of Lindstrom and Frost with Coots as third line C. We already have three small or non physical dmen with Sanheim, Drysdale and York as well. So if I'm building a balanced team, I'd like Lindstrom up front or Dickinson on the blueline.
  3. I wish we wouldn't have overachieved this year and we would be in a lottery position. The Devils, Isles and lots of teams who should be ahead of us just keep losing. We have four scoring right wingers , TK, Tippett,Foerester and Brink and Michkov coming..they are all or project to be first or second line guys, there isn't enough room for all of them. Considering the rebuild, etc, if we could trade TK at the draft for the pick that would get Dickinson or Lidstrom, I would seriously think about it. It would probably have to be 5th or 6th. I would also hope to get an additional asset for TK,.maybe TK and Fla pick for #5/6 pick and another good young player. Then with our own pick we can land a dman if we pick Lindstrom or vice versa. Or if we drop all the way to #12, we can trade that and somebody else to move up to 5 or 6. The question is who. Would someone take Our pick ,FLAs pick and Brink for the # 5/6? Or maybe Drysdale and our pick for #5/6 and we also get something else. I'm not sold on Drysdale, he's the Nolan Patrick of defenseman. We need to get an impact player this year, we are way behind in this rebuild, especially at center and defense, we have good wingers...
  4. Or trade up for Lindstrom or Dickinson. We need a big skilled center to replace Coots, Catton is good but he's the same size as Frost. Dickinson is exactly the type of dman we need too.
  5. We gave up 6 goals but Frost was a plus 3, and he scored an incredible goal, he started the whole play too. I wouldn’t trade him, he is our only skilled center and he’s not a defensive liability. I wanna drop to around the 12th pick and see if we can trade up. I don’t think we will drop enough to be in the top 10.
  6. Let's collapse into a better draft position. Maybe we can get down to #12. It will be easier to trade up from there. I'd hope for being in the bottom 10, but alot of the teams below us just keep losing.
  7. If he said that, he wouldn’t have completed the sentence, he doesn’t have a teleprompter.
  8. During the deadline they said one of the teams that wanted Laughton was the Rangers, how about Kakko for Laughton.
  9. I wish we could get Dickinson or Lindstrom in this draft but both will be gone by the 5th or 6th pick. If we collapse enough and some teams below us get hot maybe we can pick 12th and have a better shot at trading up.
  10. Maybe K’Andre Miller, that’s about it. Sandin, I haven’t seen enough of him to determine.
  11. Lafrenierre is starting to turn into a good player and Kakko would probably do better with a change of scenery. Tippett was almost written off as a failure in FLA, now he’s become the Flyers best sniper. Sometimes you just need a fresh start, Kakko has size and skill for sure.
  12. The problem is they reached with those guys , there were other players available that were more highly rated and less of a risk.
  13. The breaks the Rangers caught were monumental. Trouba and Paneran only wanted to go to the Rangers and same with Fox. So in the blink of an eye they got a first pair defense with one guy being a hard hitting defense first guy , one guy being an offensive catalyst and also being a Norris trophy winner and they got a first line scorer. All this cost them was a second round pick. They also won the lottery getting the #1 and # 2 pick. Now let’s talk about the Flyers luck……. Hayes,JVR, Patrick and Gauthier.
  14. They said he’s going back to Sweden for good after the season.
  15. We have some guys who are really coming on and will all be thirty goal scorers eventually . Tippett,Farabee, Brink and Foerester all have the ability to score thirty and Frost should be able to score twenty. TK is already there.
  16. I agree with that, but I wish he didn’t turn into this shot blocking dynamo at the age of 30 as an UFA. I’m skeptical that he reverts to a popcorn maker next season.
  17. There are big guys who play small and small guys who play big. You need some guys that play with fire and suddenly it rubs off on the softies. Back in the better years the Flyers were never the most talented but they came to play every night and won against more talented teams on sheer will and determination , we took the Oilers to 7 games in 87, they had Gretzky and Messier, we had Poulin and Sutter…on paper we didn’t compare.
  18. It’s all about luck and circumstances as well, imagine if Patrick wasn’t a flop or if we picked any of the other guys in the top of that draft instead. If Gauthier decided to stay, then you add Michkov and we have a nice core. We had high level incompetence and some real bad luck to go with it. Before we think or talk about anything else , center is the #1 priority and a shutdown dman with some size is #2. It’s like building a house, foundation, walls, roof ,etc. I wish we could somehow make some deals and trade Konecny and picks and come away with Cayden Lindstrom and Sam Dickinson in this draft. We have Tippett ,Brink and Foerester and soon Michkov…you won’t miss Konecnys offense. Overall we’re a better rounded team instead of having four scoring wingers and no center or defensive stalwart.
  19. It’s all about balance and being able to go up against any team and play any style. One dimensional teams always have to hope for a good matchup when the playoffs start, that’s one of the biggest problems Toronto had over the years. They went up against some physical teams and couldn’t compete. I know it’s hard, but you can’t be stacked in one area and weak in another and expect to win.
  20. Yes look at all the picks the Sixers had and the only guy left is Embiid and they haven’t won anything and they aren’t going to. They never had a balanced enough team and always had too many holes in the lineup to compete with the top teams. They pissed away so many high picks and the window is closing for Embiid.
  21. Although I hate basketball ,let’s not forget “Trust The Process “ . The Sixers had countless high first and second round picks and they drafted what they thought was the best player available with those picks. They had no blueprint or plan to fit those new pieces in to complement the nucleus they had, all they did was collect pieces that did not fit the overall puzzle. Then they figured they could trade those former high pick players that didn’t fit and get equal value back, they got jack **** back because the players became devalued due to lack of playing time and development. You have to look at the team you have and what you need and draft accordingly and trade up or down to get what you need. For example we are loaded at right wing, you can’t have a big scorer on the third line because all you do is draft right wings and there’s nowhere to put him, not every player is capable of playing the off wing. Flyers have some finishers for the first time in ages, but no setup men, we have some smaller/non physical puck moving defensemen but no big shutdown defenseman. We have some good complementary wingers but we lack the couple of high end difference makers other than Michkov, we need to do everything we can to get the right players and build a balanced team. Drafting the “best player available” doesn’t always work, the Sixers are proof of that. Or the best player available better actually turn out to be the best player.
  22. And 7 million for a 4th line center. This budget sounds like the US deficit
