I was thinking the same. Neal's hit was later and almost seemed more preemptive than Torres'.

Sorry if this has been covered before but I finally saw the Torres hit on Hossa. Apart from the injury of course, how is this not a carbon copy of Neal on Couturier? The article states he is a repeat offender, but I am not sure to what extent. Well Neal is a repeat offender also. I literally got a deja vu feeling watching the clip of the hit..... wait a minute, I swear I just saw this.... only the uniforms were different colors.... and the guy only got a 1 game suspension... which wasn't even for the same hit, but another cheap hit on the same shift.... From the Weber slap on the wrist to the discrepancies between these two suspensions Shanny needs to be done. I agree with alot of the other posters. Get a retired unbiased official for the position of discipline czar. Not that I like Torres, or what he did, but I hope he does appeal. Just go in there and play footage of him and Neal on split screen. Play the tape, explain that he and Neal both have prior history, express sympathy and wish Hossa a speedy recovery, then say "REALLY SHANNY? ARE YOU FUING KIDDING ME?" The NHL is a freaking circus!

@hf101 I was never really worried about where the scoring would come from. I liked Richards.... and thought Carter had come a long way (defense/faceoffs) but was ready for a change and looked forward to seeing a new makeup for the team.

After seeing and reading about all of the Pens attrocities.... this made me smile.

Agreed..... not over until the handshakes. I love the goals but we need to get these games under control. Fleury is a good goalie but he is not Henrik. We can't pull the go down by 2 or 3 and scrap back to a win routine with him if/when we have to play the Rags.

@Digityman I hate Chicago for ruining that song for me. The Fratellis are one of my favorite new bands of the past few years.

Timmo would be really attractive to one of the cap floor teams. His cap is 6.3m, but he only has one year left on his contract at a salary of 3.0m. It would suck to see him go, but I do think it may be inevitable. As mentioned, so many possibilities hinge on the language of the new CBA.

I'd favor a smaller move to get a depth D-man. Specifically, a guy I've wanted them to pick up for a couple years. Greg Zanon from the Wild. He hits a ton, blocks a ton of shots, hardly gets penalized, not too expensive (2.0 m) I think the Flyers best course is to see what the options are in the new CBA (read buyouts) and go from there.

It would be nice to see Shanny draw his little red line comparing the levels of Briere's head and Kronwall's a**. Of course he would use the hieght difference to explain that right?

I always liked the signing. I figured maybe he would put up around 60 points... never expected the pace for around 90. I never bought into the arguments about his lack of production in the inferior league. You could still argue he is old and not used to playing 82+ game anymore, but this team has enough firepower to spread the minutes around if needed. Being 39 doesn't mean you can't play at a high level anymore. Just ask Recchi and Lidstrom.

I am probably being a little unfair to Gamecenter. I don't have a good dedicated connection right now; long term hotel wireless because of work. I definitely will check it out when i get settled back in Maine and get a real connection.

Really hope Renberg can get someone to take over his duties at the Worlds so he can come reunite the Legion.

Gamecenter is the worst. I signed up again this year but the feeds are always choppy. Just glad I cancelled withing their 5 day window.
