  1. DB can choose between Michkov, Leonard, Dvorsky, Benson??? wow
  2. Are the Canadiens going to pass on Michkov? I mean they have Caufield...do they really wanna run with two tiny wingers?
  3. So top 3 as expected, just slightly in a different order. It's still on the sharks to determine the path for the rest of the draft. The longer Michkov falls, the more aggressive some teams will be trying to move up (i.e. Washington).
  4. Ok. Just been watching a bunch of Ryan Leonard clips and reading up some more on him. I take my earlier statement back. I'd rather pick Leonard over Benson.
  5. I really like Leonard, and will be happy if he is the pick (obviously if none of the top 5ish fall etc). But almost every profile on him says 2nd/3rd liner, does everything right, high energy player. Major doubts if he will be a high scoring winger. I'd rather go for a swing with Benson. Profile on him is he has major upside, if he can be developed. Leonard and Dvorsky are going to be very very good players, but safe picks. I like them, just getting tired of seeing responsible two-way players who may hit 60 points. Just use the 7 to really go for a guy with superstar offensive potential please. Someone who is elite in something (speed, shooting, hockey IQ) and not someone who's is just good/above average in everything.
  6. This draft has 2003 written all over it. Strong draft class, we have 7 and 22. Could be a Carter/Richards type of draft for the Flyers. Although it should have been Getzlaf and Perry:)
  7. https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2023/05/01/washington-capitals-sign-ivan-miroshnichenko-to-three-year-entry-level-contract/ Washington just got their Russian prospect out of his KHL deal early...Just saying, it is not impossible to get Michkov out.
  8. I'm probably going against public opinion. But yes, if he's available at seven then I'd draft him. The risk is not concerning skill level. He is a top 3 pick, 1 in most drafts based on skill and projection. The risk is obviously political. But 3-4 years is a long time. The political landscape will change, whether or not it's within the Michkov time frame I don't know. But at 7, I'd be willing to accept that risk. Someone, a few posts earlier, said that the last 18/20 cup winners have had a 1-3 pick in their roster. Michkov is that. We will get a good player at 7, but we need to really swing for the fence. Again, there is little doubt about his skill level. The one major concern I have is how strong his mentality is. He just lost his father, that kind of thing can **** up anyone. For those of you who follow soccer, see Adriano as an example.
  9. How about this guy? If we of course manage to obtain a lower 1st/ high 2nd round pick... https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/lukas_dragicevic_is_a_high_risk_high_reward_prospect_in_the_2023_nhl_draft/s1_16958_38733906
  10. I really liked Zamula in this game. Nothing fancy, but very solid.
  11. I still like his upside, but see him more on the left wing rather than a center.
  12. Just happy Flyers dodged that huge contract, if rumour is true.
  13. Pierre le brun apparently reporting Flyers are out of the race for JG
  14. Somewhere in the world he qualifies as high end talent....
  15. Flyers got the fourth worst pick grade (C-) according to this https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10041078-2022-nhl-draft-live-round-1-grades-and-analysis-for-every-pick.amp.html
  16. I really like this hire. Not because I believe Torts will "fix" the Flyers as a team. No one person can realistically do that. But because I think he will push Provo, Konecny, Sanheim and all the young guys. He will be tough on them, and ask questions of them...with consequences. Whether they respond positively or not, is debatable. But they (we) need this accountability.
  17. How much does the hiring of Torts, potentially change the Flyers plans on who they want at 5? Does Torts have the final say?
  18. I'm high on Savoie as well. Seen a few mock drafts where Savoie has dropped (8-12 range), and flyers picking either Jiricek or Cutter. Really curious to see what the Flyers will do here. Tough to predict.
  19. Above was written in a "Im on my way to work, its early, and Im pissed that the Flyers lucked out in the lottery" Should be interesting to see what the Devils do. Still dont believe they pick Cooley, unless they want to frontload the middle like the pens did with Crosby, Malkin, Staal. Outside Wright, Cooley, Slavkovsky, I want the Flyers to pick Savoie. But Im afraid the two defenders or an outlier like Geekie (Size) or Kemmel will be the pick.
