  1. https://thehockeynews.com/ohl/players/oliver-bonks-point-streak-how-his-offensive-potential-has-improved With Bonk ripping it up offensively this season, has his scouting report changed from primarily being a top four shutdown guy to maybe a top pairing two way D-man with some offensive upside aswell? Probably way too early, but his numbers are really surprising this season.
  2. Im fine with the deal. Just happy it ends when he is 32/33 and not 35+. 6.2 for a north south 25+ goal scorer with edge at 24 years old is good. Any No trade clause?
  3. What's the process here? Have these five players been charged and are they talking trial(s)? If so, it seems to me the Flyers won't be seeing Hart for a very long time, if ever depending on the outcome. I'm not offering any opinions on whether he is innocent or guilty, just hope the fair things happen to all who may be involved in this. However, these things are not always settled as black or white. The "outcome" may be grey, and then what do the respective franchises do? These athletes have worked hard to get where they are, but they are also lucky to be able to have such careers. As such, they are role models, especially for the younger generations. With that comes responsibility, and imho if they land in the "grey" area, it would be hard to completely dismiss all doubt and do franchises really want them then? Over here across the pond we've had so many of these types of cases in football (soccer). Most of them, whether or not the players were guilty or not, resulted in their clubs letting them go (other clubs in different countries usually pick them up down the road). But I do t see that happening in the NHL. Mason Greenwood, Benjamin Mendy comes to mind as recent high profile examples. In both cases charges were dropped (key witness dropped out), but their careers were killed.
  4. I wonder if Makar will be called to report in aswell
  5. And now the two devils players from that 18 team, have been granted indefinite leave aswell. McLeod and Foote...
  6. Have to say I agree regarding Zegras. He would be an amazing addition. Don't really care too much about his defensive liability. Definitely think some of that can be corrected within a structured style of play and coaching. Besides a 22 year old with two consecutive seasons with 20+ goals and 60 point seasons, that's gold. And no way that this is his offensive ceiling. Can easily see him become a 80-90 point guy. We keep saying we don't always want the 200 foot two way middle of the lineup guys. Well elite offense comes with higher risk of play, and usually with some liability on the defensive end. That's why it's a team sport, surround him with the proper players and structure and you've struck gold. Him and michkov on the PP1, and split them up on 5-5.
  7. Just as an exercise, what would it take to get Zegras?
  8. Good read about Drysdale https://www.broadstreethockey.com/post/philadelphia-flyers-trade-nhl-who-is-jamie-drysdale-a-qampa-with-rusty-of-anaheim-calling/
  9. Was just going through the list. JVR in 18 Vinny (not prospal) in 13 Jagt in 11 And arguably the biggest one was Briere. So really, not often it happens anymore.
  10. Rumours out there that Zegras is in play. What would it take to trade for him? Reunite him with York and Drysdale... Some injury concerns and drop off in production/play, should mean the Ducks would be selling low(er) than when he was on the cover in 23.
  11. So moving on. What's the deal with Drysdale? Dont know too much about him except for he's a tremendous skater and that he has been injured alot. What's his projection? Is he a better prospect than say York or are we talking similar talent level?
  12. Wtf??? What a huge setback for the rebuild. Cutter was a huge piece. The guy is going to be a beast in the league.
  13. I'd love to build the D around one of Brandt Clarke, Korchinski, Nikishin. Obviously they are not true no1's (yet). But I believe they will be. Not likely their respective teams would let them go at all unfortunately.
  14. It should be possible to find some stuff. Just made a quick search using wayback machine
  15. I came over from philly.com aswell, and as some of you know I mainly do first class lurking and occasionally pop in with a thought. But I'm here every day, and wanted to chime in and express how happy I am for the endurance and longevity of this forum. Knowledgeable posters, absurd humor, and seriously the best forum i've ever been a part of. So thank you all for that.
  16. I find it so difficult, being completely biased towards the Flyers, to really figure out whether a total rebuild is necessary. When I look at these players: Konecny, Coots, Farabee, Tippet, Cates, (Laughton), Brink, Foerster, even Frost I keep thinking this is a legit core group of guys. With Gauthier and Michkov hopefully being elite and above the rest, then we are talking. I dont know if I'm over evaluating all these names, but I hope im not. But again this is where the doubt creeps in due to severe biasness... For me, the real doubt, and what the rebuild process for me constitutes is on the blue line, not at forward or at goal. At forward I feel we are several steps already into the rebuild phase, but the D is several steps behind...and those two groups need to be aligned. This new Sanheim can possibly fastrack it, along with York gaining more experience. Andrae is still a question mark, and Zamula will probably end up as a serviceable reliable 5-6 (which is fine). But we need to completely focus on the D if we want to have a chance to utilize/exploit the good work done at forward. Am I totally off thinking we dont need a rebuild/tear it down at foward? Again a top nine of Konecny, Farabee, Tippet, Brink, Foerster, Cates, Coots, Gauthier, Michkov and even Laughton/Frost is pretty darn good no?
  17. Perfect timing for buying low
  18. Seems to me like the Pinto for Frost deal might be happening.
  19. Unless you are planning on watching every game, then please just stop now. We need a high draft pick
  20. Closest thing I found is this article referencing his dominant play in the playoffs where he was the Flyers' best player. What on earth happened to him?? https://bleacherreport.com/articles/825259-philadelphia-flyers-james-van-riemsdyk-ready-to-be-a-superstar
  21. Still not as good as Mike Richards'. That was truly special. Speaking about "The Shift", I'm trying to find a link to JVR's shift. Cup run in '10 against Bruins. He played like a possessed man, physically dominating and agressive. Never seen anything like that from him since unfortunately. But if anyone has a link to that, please post it.
  22. 7 points in 7 games with Sochi. Looking good. Although, somebody please explain the KHL for me. Everyone (including my self) is raving about his 9 goals and 20 points in 27 games last season. But Riley Barber and Jordan Weak are topping the KHL stats with 16-18 points in 12 games....even Ryan spooner is a point pr. Game player over there. Shouldn't Michkov be better (offensively) than them?
  23. Interesting. I thought Frost was one of the worst on the team. Lacked complete confidence...to me it seemed like the puck bobbled too much on his stick, didn't have the proper weight on his passes. Hope its just me seeing things wrong.
  24. Totally disagree! I find that if a girl is in the 7-8 range, it only takes a slight buzz to pull her up into a 9-10. For 5-6, it requires a bit more work but is definitely doable...for me it's about 3 gin tonics, 5 beers and 3 shots (not tequila)...that'll do it. Anything under 5-6 range, it's still possible to pull them up to a perceived 9-10 range, but that requires close to passing out level, which means there is that sweet spot of around 10min before passing out, where the magic happens and you look at the girl and you are totally convinced that she's a 10.
