Most of us did not expect the Flyers to make a Cup run this year. I know that I was really only hoping that they could make the playoffs and get through maybe one round to get this young team some very valuable experience. They have done exactly that, knocking off our nemesis and Cup favorite Pens in the process. Now we are locked in a battle with the hated Devils and have not been playing good hockey at all but the series is still only 2-1. If the Flyers can find their groove again it is still very possible to win the series, but if not they still have had a good season and this team shows a ton of promise for the near future. If they do pull this out and win this series, it is only going to harder from here, so we will truly find out what this team is made of. GO FLYERS!!! PS- another perspective - at least we are not Vancouver or St Louis fans right now who all expected that this was going to be their year!

yeah, could you imagine a NJ/WASH/PHNX/LA final four and 2 of those team competing for the cup. talk about a tv ratings nightmare! NBC would probably drop the NHL next year!!

Game 2 is the perfect opportunity for the Flyers to make a statement, and that statement would be "this is our ***** series and there is nothing you can do about it!" I want to see a solid 60 minute effort from each and every player, a dedication to responsible defensive play, relentless forecheck and offensive push, and a game from Bryz that shows that he is worth the contract that he signed. I know this is asking a lot, but it is the perfect time to make a statement and say it loud.

Thanks for the info. Regarding quote above, should we then be concerned IF the Flyers beat the Devils in a short series that Bryz will need a few games to get back in the groove again in the ECF, because if that's the case, the series could be all but over by then.

I really think that will be the key. If we get Bryz of games 1-4, the Flyers could very easily lose this series.

So in 1995, he knocks up his girlfriend, wins a stanley cup, gets married, and has a kid. Quite a year. Then in 2003 he wins another stanley cup and gets divorced. Nice to book-end your marriage with a pair of Cups!

If that is the case the Flyers could be in trouble, but I just dont see NJ being able to handle wave after wave of Philly offense.

Anybody hear anything? I am thinking that if he is even questionable the Flyers should rest him and see how they do. I think we can get past NJ while giving someone like Gus more valuable playoff experience. I think the Flyers can win it in 5 or 6 so maybe get him in a game or 2 towards the end of the series to get up to game speed. Same goes for Meszaros. If we make it to the ECF then having a rested and healthy Grossman and Meszaros would be huge. (Lets hope Coby, Kimmo, and Carle all stay healthy as well.)

Agreed. Those 3 teams would have been no where without those 3 guys. While Roo is immensely important and could be considered for an MVP, I don think the Flyers success this year relied primarily on him.

That's the attitude we need to beat those guys! I know we got swept by them this year in the regular season but the playoffs are completely different and i honestly believe the Flyers could beat the the Rangers in a 7 game series.

If all goes well, that sounds about right. You gotta figure Marty is gonna steal at least one game so lets just hope Bryz does not give away more than that. I think Caps/Rags could be decided in 6 and it will come down to who ever gets the better goal tending. Money is on Hank but this kid Holtby is playing beyond his years.

Haha! I know the feeling I share a similar hatred for the Pens and the Wings. Lets hope the Caps take the Rangers, Flyguys beat the Debbies and Philly goes on to make a run for the cup.

If Bryz wants to prove himself, there is no better time than now. You say to him, "Look you have an opportunity to outplay a future first ballot Hall of Famer and possibly the best goalie to ever play the game. Let's see what you are made of." If that doesnt get him fired up to play some good goal, nothing will.

Maybe so, but Rags/Caps and Flyers/Devils is good playoff hockey!
