  1. Did not watch the game 4, but according to TSN boxscore: 20:00 Pittsburgh Evgeni Malkin: 5 minutes, fighting 20:00 NY Islanders Travis Hamonic: 5 minutes, fighting Is the automatic one game suspension for fighting in last 5 minutes still on rule book? As for Letang - he cross checks a linesman. Not hard, but still after he clearly saw who he was. Here is the video: What is your opinion?
  2. Only his PK puck clearance, that go all the way to Jets end boards showed more then Bryz did for 2 years
  3. @ctid Still do not remember last spring-summer someone to complain about not drafting Hamilton. Maybe after 6 or 7 years we will know was or not a mistake. But for now Couturier is the better player than Hamilton.
  4. what makes you thing that Homer is stupid for drafting Couts? Because he sucks this season playin on the 4 line? How would you feel if Homer drafted Hamilton and then Couts played like monster agains Malkin for some other team in his first playoff year, aged only 19? To me Couts has proven that he will be a very good player. How you can come with such a conclusion and your only argument is that Hamilton plays D? Realy what makes Hamilton better than Couts so far?
  5. @doom88 The truth is that Bradley was without the gloves when he felt to the ice. I watches this game on TV and it was the first time when i saw 9 minutes on PP after a fight.
  6. i always thought that own goal was credited to the opposite team played who last touches the puck
  7. Nothing new here On December 5th in 2009, Philadelphia Flyersgoon Daniel Carcillo sucker punched Matt Bradley of the Washington Capitals with five minutes remaining in the first period and the teams tied 1-1. Carcillo received 29 minutes in penalties on the play (Bradley drew nothing) with the NHL adding a four game suspension, forcing the Flyer to forgo $43,597 in pay. Washington scored three times on the ensuing 9 minute powerplay and ultimately beat Philadelphia by a score of 8-2. from http://www.puckreport.com
  8. Yes! Everything started to go the wrong way since that Nikelback concert before NJ series last year.....
  9. Realignment plan approved by Board of Governors A look at what the Flyers new Division will look like next season Thursday, 03.14.2013 / 12:01 PM / By Dan Rosen - NHL.com Staff Writer The NHL's Board of Governors approved the realignment plan proposed last week. The new four-division plan, featuring a new-look set-up for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, will go into effect next season. The NHL and NHLPA each had input into the plan to realign the League into a more geographically appropriate two-conference, four-division format that features 16 teams in the Eastern Conference and 14 teams in the Western Conference. The Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets are moving to the Eastern Conference to provide them the ability to play the majority of their games against teams in the same time zone. The Winnipeg Jets are moving to the Western Conference for the same reason. The Dallas Stars are staying in the Western Conference, but moving into a division that includes five other teams from the Central time zone. The Stanley Cup Playoffs will still consist of 16 teams, eight in each conference, but it will be division-based and a wild-card system has been added as a new wrinkle. The top three teams in each division will make-up the first 12 teams in the playoffs. The remaining four spots will be filled by the next two highest-placed finishers in each conference, based on regular-season points and regardless of division. It will be possible, then, for one division to send five teams to the postseason while the other sends three. The seeding of the wild-card teams within each divisional playoff will be determined on the basis of regular-season points. The division winner with the most points in the conference will be matched against the wild-card team with the lowest number of points; the division winner with the second-most points in the conference will play the wild-card team with the second fewest points. The teams finishing second and third in each division will play in the first round of the playoffs. The winners of each series will play for the divisional championship. The two divisional champions in each conference will then play in the conference finals to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. The divisions will be temporarily referred to as Division A, Division B, Division C and Division D. Permanent names will be assigned later. The Western Conference will house Division A and Division B, while Division C and D will consist of eight teams each and make up the Eastern Conference. Division A is the Anaheim Ducks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, Phoenix Coyotes, San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks. Division B features the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets. Division C has four Original Six franchises: Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. The Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning are also in the division. The Columbus Blue Jackets, Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals will join the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins in Division D. The new alignment ensures that all 30 teams play in all 30 arenas at least once a season for the first time since 1997-98. The new alignment plan will be re-evaluated by the NHL and National Hockey League Players' Association following the 2015-16 season. THE NEW ALIGNMENT Here is a breakdown of the new schedule matrix created for the new alignment plan: Eastern Conference (8-team divisions) Within Conference (Division): 30 games * 5 games vs. two teams (3 Home/2 Away vs. one team, 2 Home/3 Away vs. one team) AND 4 games vs. five teams (2 Home/2 Away). Teams rotated on a yearly basis. * 5 X 2 =10 games * 4 X 5 = 20 games Within Conference (Non-Division): 24 games * 3 games vs. each team (2 Home/1 Away vs. four teams, 1 Home/2 Away vs. four teams). Teams rotated on a yearly basis. * 3 X 8 = 24 games Non-Conference: 28 games * 2 games vs. each team (1 Home/1 Away) * 2 X 14 = 28 games Western Conference (7-team divisions) Within Conference (Division): 29 games * 5 games vs. five teams (3 Home/2 Away vs. two teams, 2 Home/3 Away vs. three teams) AND 4 games vs. one team (2 Home/2 Away). Teams rotated on a yearly basis. * 5 X 5 =25 games * 1 X 4 = 4 games Within Conference (Non-Division): 21 games * 3 games vs. each team (2 Home/1 Away vs. four teams, 1 Home/2 Away vs. three teams). Teams rotated on a yearly basis. * 3 X 7 = 21 games Non-Conference: 32 games * 2 games vs. each team (1 Home/1 Away) * 2 X 16 = 32 games (Exception: one team from each division plays one less game inside Division and one more game inside Conference outside Division)
  10. But on the other hand he makes a really crappy Saves.
  11. My point is that what happens now is at least Lavy's fault. And i do not want to change the coach just to have next season ruined again by some sloppy goalie and weak defence. Bryz on the other hand makes more monet then Gervais, Foster, Gus and Walker combined, so he should be able to steal a game or two. BTW our third D pairing sucked in 2010 just like Gervais and Foster now , but yes we had Pronger.
  12. Lavy's system worked pretty well in 2009-2010 with two backup golies, reaching game 6 of Stanley Cup Finals. Coincidence or not, this team problems apeared along with Bryzgalov. The whole team has no confidence in him. Every game is the same. He make some hard saves (not great ones) and then he lets one or two really soft goals, spit quite a few juicy rebounds. And he can't stop no player comming one on one with him.
  13. I agree with you, that those players were important for the team. Expecialy Jagr. But i think Homer let Carle walk, because he was shure we can get Suter or Weber. That didn't hapened and we traded for Schenn. Also last year this forum was full with Mat Carle must go treads, just like Briere must go now. In the summer i was thinking that 5-6 m per year for Carle are too much, but looking at this year free agent market, i changed my mind. Now puck moving defenseman will cost us much more. Only trade can bring us legit 1-2 D man
  14. They just corrected the the mask with green Yoda and green light sable. Everybody must be happy now But they broke the luck element in it
  15. We(the management) wanted Weber, after Suter turned down pretty big offer from us and choose Min instead. Yes he is no Weber or Keith, but I like him more than any free agent defenceman from last and this summer list.
  16. I do not know why is this Byfuglien bashing. I will take him and his 5,2 m cap hit any time over Suter, which we wanted so much in the summer.
  17. Yeah and Yoda is kinda yellow, maybe this is some evil Yoda? Or maybe Bryz has joined the dark side
  18. Now he has a new mask. This was the much needed change May the power be with him P.S. Should be the FORCE - thanks @hf101
  19. @Polaris922 Now i get your logic, First - Malkin fight is old news, but Briere actions in Buffalo and 1974-1975 Flyers teams are fresh as tomorrow morning newspaper. OK, Second - when Malkin or Crosby use elbows, dive, whine and jump players from behind they are just frustrated and nothing wrong is happening, When Briere gets frustrated - o that is one dirty player.
  20. @Polaris922 I said that Malkin had to be suspended for his late third period fight in the Finals. Crosby on the second video HITS A PLAYER FROM BEHIND IN THE CROUCH. You said that this is happening almost every game. Will you be so kind to post one of many clips how other players do the same?
  21. That is what i meen in bold text - and the videos are my point. If Briere is durty and never done enything close to this, how you call Crosby. Which is in my post #2 in this tread. Still unaswered by you. Also unanswered - did you think those type of plays deserve suspension. Because you said earlier "Cooke serves his time. Neal served his game too. If Malkin or Crosby do something suspendable I'm sure they will too." It is just not right a team that has a full bunch of proven divers like Crosby and Letang, punks like Cooke to be bitching about who is durty. Even Malkin is more careless with his stick and elbows.
  22. No, those are only for Penguins fans accusing other team players being durty
  23. So the videos did not show nothing that deserve suspension for Crosby? Is that right? Carcillo was given 4 games for Bradley fight that is not even close to what Crosby did after the face-off. Did Malkin was suspended for late third period fight? So if nothing on this videos is suspendable, than YES i am a Cryer, But if is suspendable than what?
  24. No i readed, and because you often refer to Briere for his stick work and diving, it woud be interesting how you compare him to Crosby. Has Briere done ever something similar to those? So if Briere is durty, how you would categorize those plays by your captain? My point is your team has no right to call anyone durty. Not untill you have Malkin, Crosby and Cooke. The league even suspended Ovechkin few times. Only Pitt stars are untochable.
