  1. Well, the topic remains red hot. Another opposite statements there:

André Tourigny: "Completely disrespectful from Greig, you don't do that and he should've known. Reilly shouldn't have reacted that way but I understand it"

Philippe Boucher: "The code? What's the f**king code? I have been playing for 17 years in this League and I still don't know what it is. Btw, Greig was completely right. It's the battle of Ontario, let's rise it and give a good show"

  2. Yeah I was pissed when he didn't re-sign with the Stars even though he was already downtrending. He's pretty good as an analyst on TVA Sports right now and never uses gloves when he speaks (he completely assumes his Golden Knights hatred for example). Still funny to ear his France french accent with the couple of Québec terms in the middle of it.

  3. @TropicalFruitGirl26 Haha, just watched almost two hours on that topic on all angles. Antoine Roussel and Maxim Lapierre, two identical type of players when they were in the League, completely disagreed: Roussel was all on the Leafs' side, giving Reilly a 2-game suspension max, Lapierre said he would have shot harder while making a 360-michigan, and giving at least 10 games to Reilly lol.

I'm wondering how fans in Centre Bell would have reacted if Greig had done it in Montréal...

  4. Is it part of the code to retaliate because Greig made an empty-netter slapshot instead of simply letting the puck go in? So what's the limit? 60 mph? is a wrister ok?

Reilly should get a 35-game suspension, just to prevent such epic BS thing to happen ever again. If this pisses you, just try to win the game first...

  5. I don't think there's an intent to deliberately injure. It's a play along the boards, Acciari saw Dillon coming, but Dillon made an upward motion that led to a check with the head as the first contact point. If he had bent over and target the body, it's a hard but clean hit. Dillon was a bit dumb on that one because there was no need to lift your body up like that.

A two, maybe three-game suspension IMO.

(But again, George Parros is still the boss of the Departement... so expect anything from that point.)

  6. I think it's always good to digest a trade before and try to see the whole picture.

First, I thought that the Canucks lost their minds, but it's really not that silly overall. Vancouver had a hole on the 2C position and on the PP as weel, as they don't seem willing to play Pettersson as a full natural center. Kuzmenko is a 0.0098-dimensional and overrated player that could fourish in another environment. I understand this in a salary dump persepctive, as the Kuzmenko had one more year on his contract. The fact that Lindholm is not willing to re-sign immediately, making him a pure rental is something that bugs me a bit and the price to get him is still a bit too much IMO. But that's the risk you have to take if you think you can go on a run and not miss the train.

Now, let the dominos fall !

This.  1000x this.  Completely, absolutely this.

All aboard with this as well. Not to mention that the social media environment contribute to feed the devil and make things worse and out of control. That's why I truly despise the Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok of this world and I think these platforms are really toxic for the humanity in general.

  8. I mean, there's no smoke without fire. The case is known since 2018 and a financial agreement was found with Hockey Canada just a bit later to hide the dust under the rug. There must have been some sort of non publication order but the players involved were already targeted.

Formenton was a good prospect in the Sens organization, someone that could have been like Pinto or Greig let's say. And all of a sudden, he literally ran away in the Switzerland butthole. Went there several times in this deep valley with almost no sunshine in winter, you have to be strong to not turn into Jack Torrance. In 2022, his team was already severly criticized when they decided to sign him knowing what was pending above his head, and all this finally backfired straight in his face.

So either the Flames were not aware of that and they are naive to say the least, or they didn't do their due diligence on that matter. Another assumption is that Dubé went with the mental health assistance program thing with the hope that no one would notice... Either way, that's definitely ridiculous and trying to extinguish a fire with a barrel of gasoline is never a good idea.

Am I wrong? I want to be. Does anyone envision a scenario where #97 is between the pipes for the Flyers again? Help me see it too, please, if you can.

You want to trade for McDavid and play him as goaltender? That's a strange strategy...

  10. Open ice late hit, upward motion, elbow used to hit Pelech, head as the first contact point. This one was checks almost every checkbox. To put a bit of context, this hit occured after Clutterbuck made a huge but legal hit on Harvey-Pinard shortly before. This is exactly what the League is """""trying""""" to get rid of.

Should be four games at least but we know it won't be more than five because Gallagher won't have a personal hearing.

Edit: He got five games. Seems legit.
