    Cap and cap hell (Suter and Parise) totally upsets the old one-for-one fun of trade deadlines passed. It's like we're trading paper clips and marbles and moving money on the side.

    I'll kick this off: Credible news outlets say Wild looking at Philly's James Van Riemsdyk. He's on expiring contract but better yet he's 6'3, 210-pound scorer. Shoots left. Personally, I'd say go for it if he's healthy, pick or lower prospect....

    I attended the North Stars season opener in October of 1993 at Met Center.....night before running Twin Cities Marathon. Broten had just returned from Germany after a hold out and stood on bench in his civvies. The team had black sweaters with a simple green star, no "North." Knew then and there the team was gone (to Texas). All teams now, it seems, subtly change palettes and shades on whim. The Original Six are the only ones that stay semi-true to original hues.

    Met him in blink of an eye when he was honored sometime in 80s at Winnipeg Arena. Scored seats next to home team bench, look down, and there's Bobby in his toupee. He winked and waved.

    Was just thinking it's that time of the year, where we need a deadline trade thread. NHL cronies huddling at the All-Farce Game, trading chips as an amazing 20-plus teams posting statistically but dubious winning records in a 32-team league go all in for a chair and a chance!

    If you are thinking about trading a guy, you put him on the ice so other teams can scout. Unless a deal is close, the trading partner might not want him playing, especially if that team is Carolina....

    That's one hell of an accomplishment. At North Dakota Hakstol's teams always improved after Christmas break, but this is absurd.....

    Good question. Wild are accommodating his wish to go play in German Elite league for Manheim.......wonder if they are the Steamrollers? At any rate he's 30 and hit his peak in North America. Wish him well...
