If these new guys do come in they don't necessarily need to be direct replacements for the Dewey's. If they aren't really 4th liners we have a few players who can take that role instead of playing farther up the lineup than they should.

I really don’t see the point in trading either Dewey right now. 1- How much do they expect to get for Duhaime? I’d say maybe a 5th rounder? Is that enough to possibly disrupt the locker room? 2- Dewar is worth more, a 2nd rounder?, maybe? But again is it worth disrupting the locker room and shortening an already very short depth chart? 3- Who replaces them? Shaw? One of the KHL guys? It surely isn’t someone from Iowa. Am I that far off on what I think the return on these guys are? It seems to me trading the Deweys is the sign that they have given up on the playoffs.

Yea and that’s why I was rooting for them to lose a while back. Now it’s too late to really try and go in the tank.

That really doesn’t look very impressive for the Wild. Didn’t see anything about a right shot defenseman or a stand out 1st line center.

The first period the Wild definitely outplayed Edmonton. The only passengers on the Wild were Johansson and Gaudreau. Johansson needs a little shooting practice, the only shot attempt I saw was the one at the empty net that he missed wide.

If Fleury wants to go somewhere it will be the opening for Wahlstead to come up.

I actually would feel sorry for Marc Andre if this happens. He deserves a better chance at a cup than what the Leafs can give him.

I don’t watch the flyers enough to grade their talent, but one thought on blaming the talent that sticks out to me is how do you explain the pens PP woes?

I was thinking the same thing. At this point the Wild won’t be able to out lose the other teams that have decided to go for the draft pick. IMO their best option is to audition their prospects, get what they can for the ones they don’t see being in their future, make the playoffs and have the other teams they play have horrible luck. They do have a fighting chance of winning some series if say they play Winnipeg and their goalie falls seriously ill, or the other teams entire 1st line gets injured. I think that’s their best shot.

I don’t understand how anyone can think retaliating for the Senators lack of class by showing them up with a slapshot into an empty net with a cross check to the neck/head is OK. A check into the boards or a slash to the thigh maybe. But going after the head is definitely intent to injure and needs to go.

As much as I enjoy the victory pics I think we need to stop them for the rest of the season. With no pics they lost. At this stage of the season they may as well continue losing and play for the draft picks. I enjoyed the win for Flowers special day, but now it’s time to play well and still lose.

Let’s face it if Brandon Duhaime gets a stick in the face just like that, therr probably isn’t even a call much less a double minor.

Well it looks like the Wild are going to play just well enough to miss the playoffs. Good luck with the #15 draft pick.

Reality can be harsh. Best to watch the rest of the season with low expectations. Don't boo their bad play, it might inspire them into winning just enough to miss the playoffs. Cheer them when they lose, as it means a better draft pick.

Hopefully the push for the playoffs talk is just talk. I get it, they can’t come out and say “we’re going to tank this year “. But they can say we’re going to make a push for the playoffs and then fail. Hopefully they fail really well.

Yea at least we will be able to see how they play against real talent.
