I think I get where your going, but I dont see it the same way. In ANY sport, other than combat types, anyone can choose to fight. We see it in baseball, football, basketball and even soccer. The difference is the consequence of your actions. I think what you were getting at is fighting is ALLOWED in hockey, and has a penalty assessed to it. But even in that, you can't just fight whenever you want. Without a willing partner you will face significant consequences that could hurt your team. Do this repeatedly and it hurts your career. I also disagree with your wording that a fight can/will, "force your team to play better just with your sheer force and will power anytime during the game". There is no guarantee a fight will have any significant impact, and can at times backfire.

Im sure Im being overly criticaal of your POV. I agree that hockey is unique in that it allows fights. I also agree about the toughness of the players. I always chuckle when I hear basketball fans talk about the conditioning level of its players. I'd like to see them skate one shift at the NHL level. I also agree with your point about realism, although there is nothing fake about MMA or boxing.

Oh of course the fighting in combat sports is real I'm talking about all the hype though leads to social media shouting matches and WrestleMania style arenas...I like old WWF wrestling up until they turned Hulk Hogan bad but that's another story...the fake phoniness I'm specifically talking about is that it is not allowed to escalate to fist fighting in other sports so all their spit talk is phony/fake because it usually won't result in fighting but in hockey it's penalized but totally allowed as part of the sport and no other sport other than combat sports allows punching people in the face whenever they piss you off and even have the opportunity to first fight the same guy many times during the same game as long as you're allowed back onto the ice again...other sports talk a mean attitude but never are they allowed the opportunity to back up their talk with fists repeatedly like hockey...no managers agents hype men etc negotiating money etc before the fight it's just purely the decision between two guys whether they gonna fight or not and that to me is the realest type of fighting not prize fighting...

  2. To put in comparison I'm not a big ultimate fighting/boxing/MMA/violence fan...but I truly appreciate hockey  because unlike the other sports the entire team has their individual/personal choice to fight or drop their gloves or slash at others etc and that choice to fight or not or to slash or not etc is exactly what other sports lack...in combats sports there is no choice not to fright and in other sports like soccer etc there is no choice to fight because fighting isn't part of the game...but in hockey you have the choice to take matters into your own hands and try to force your team to play better just with your sheer force and will power anytime during the game...you might not be able to score but you can fight anytime you want and that gives hockey athletes a certain toughness and realness trust non hockey players will never have...and for me as a fan I truly  appreciate realness in our world of ever growing fakeness...

Oh I totally agree on that point, that fight was a nice one.

By value-added, I mean towards the gameplan and strategy. What brings such fights into the overall game as a whole aside of trying to switch momentum and try to ignite a spark. Respect has always been there between fighters and enforcers (I hate the term "goon"). Kordic, Probert, Kocur, McRae, Churla, McSorley, Domi, Grimson, Nilan, Boogaard, Fedoruk; just to name a few of them, they all respected each other even if things turned out ugly sometimes.

Confidence aggressiveness winning spirit all things needed not just in sports but in any competitive environment...whether it's sports or business or love or war or etc putting fear or doubt into the minds or the competition is always an advantage compared to not...

Ok, this is not a pissed off ex posting this video. No.

This is a drug video that Adam Ruzicka posted. On line. On his own Instagram.

I debated on posting it,, it's easy to find if you wanna see it, a plate with a line of coke, a vial of a substance. Ruzicka thought it was fun to post for the world to see. Approximately fifty minutes went by and he took it down but too late, it's everywhere. Probably heading back to Slovakia to continue his career.

Coyotes Cut him on the spot.

No debate for me I'll post it here it is Adam Ruzicka video in all his glory🤘

You know, perhaps the sleeper in all of this are Winnipeg?  Look at their record.  Could sneak up on some teams in playoffs?  Might have the better goalie of the contenders in West?  Except for Binnington of course If Blues sneak in .

Yeah Winnipeg is bigger threat than Dallas I say...but Blues without Berube as coach ain't going anywhere...

Of course, it means a new formula of how often one plays each team in one’s division, in the other division in your conference, and the other conference.  Several choices to make, including whether to only play some teams in the other conference once.

I disagreed with 32 being perfect as far as playoff achievement.  NFL and MLB still only allow less than half to qualify for postseason, despite expanding those fields in recent years.  (I.e., 16 in, 20 out, is OK in my view.)

Yeah less than half should ever make the playoffs can't ever go over 16 making post season in my opinion...as for regular season schedule gotta make it simple that every team has to see every opponent at least once per regular season and the further the travel less the see of search other but ok less travel time means seeing more of those teams and same East vs West Cup finals but the divisions can simply be NW/SW and NE/SE...
