  1. That's just it. They don't NEED a big game from Auston Matthews, to win this series, unlike past seasons. They have better depth, and though they're defense isn't overly physical, it's improved and they block their fair share of shots. That's an area that has allowed them back in this series. I think Domi steps up tonight, and has a big game..as does Knies, again.
  2. I had Dallas in 6, in this series. It worries me a bit, that Dallas only had 22 shots in Game 6. They played a little too cautiously, IMHO. Johnston and someone else, has to step up in Game 7, or they're going to lose. I think Benn and Pavelski, step up and show veteran leadership in Game 7, and play well. I think Vegas is keying on Robertson, and he's going to have a hard time in Game 7, getting open ice and chances. Harley has to become more active in the offensive zone, also. He certainly has the tools to do so. They've got to get more chances in the offensive zone, and wear down Vegas top 4 defensemen, and make them chase Dallas around. Easier said than done, but I think the Stars will pull it out. I expect a hard fought, tight checking 3-2 Game 7.
  3. If the Canucks play the way they did through this series, the Oilers will beat them in 4 or 5. Vancouver had better kick into a higher gear..FAST.
  4. The Bruins are only 14-10 all-time in Game Sevens. I honestly really like the Leaves chances. They've really galvanized as a team without Matthews. Now, the question is..do you let Matthews play, if he's not fully ready? That was sarcasm. Of course, he should play if he's at all capable. I like their chances a lot regardless, with the Brick Woll in goal. This is the best team the Leafs have had in a while. They've really showed a lot of character, in this series.
  5. All in all..it's looking like another win for The Woll. As I type this, ol' Willie Nylander scores. Looks like a Game 7. Good for Toronto.
  6. It's Dougie Downer, not Debbie. I'm not saying Michkov won't great, if he gets here. I'm quite confident he will be. I just really worry about the political situation over there, and him not getting here. The earlier he gets here, obviously the better for the Flyers.
  7. Stars win tonight, 4-3. Finally, a home team will win a game, in this series. Pavelski with the Game 5 game-winner.
  8. It really is amazing that a front office with virtually no NHL experience, is an upgrade over what was here previously, but it is.
  9. If they don't get Michkov here this summer, I fear that he'll never get here.
  10. They will be, so will Florida..who is better than last year, and the series will almost certainly go at least 6. I think Bobrovsky is going to be a huge difference maker, though. He is really locked in, and will be very tough to beat (not that Ullmark and Swayman, are chopped liver).
  11. Good pressure on the power play, in front of Thompson, by the Stars. Wyatt Johnston ties it up. He's picking up where he left off in Game 3.
  12. Might be all she wrote for Tampa Bay. Not a good play by Cernak, allowing Florida's top line to pounce on the puck in the offensive zone. Verheaghe gets it to the front of the net, and Barkov finishes it.
  13. The Flyers won't let that happen, and if the 'Canes get to at least the conference finals (which I think they will, before losing to FLA), I don't see it happening. The Flyers ownership still seems quite content in overpaying too many players, and being a fringe playoff team. I think Tortorella is staying put.
  14. So, the NHL is not on Columbus and Nationwide's side?
  15. Why isn't Ovechkin out there the entire time the net is empty, or close to it? It'll be interesting to hear Carbury's answer, if he's asked.
  16. If there was any way they could keep Matthews, I'd do it, if I were them. He is uniquely skilled and has shown me, a better competitiveness and more leadership on both ends of the ice. They should look to try and trade Marner or Nylander. They haven't been effective enough, for the money they make, in the playoffs. One of the problems they have, is one that the Flyers traditionally do. Overpaying players, and making them unmovable.
  17. The hockey gods tend to greatly dislike those brainfarts, like the one Sissons committed. This series might end in the Canucks favor, in five, now.
