There goes half of my finals picks.

See ya, Vorachoke. I have a barf bag ready, for the day he joins the Flyers Hall Of Fame. I hate the Flyers front office, for having grossly overpaid him.

Very good hockey game. I still think this series goes 6 or 7. The Caps made a nice push at the end, to try and tie it.
-
Great chances for both teams, and both goalies have come up huge. Vas made a great save on Tkachuk, almost as tremendous as Bobrovsky's,
-
Holy crap...what a save by Bobrovsky on Dumba. Back turned as Dumba tried to flip it into what he thought was an empty net, and Bob got across and got his glove on it..somehow to keep it out. That's the best save I've seen this season.

Let's go, Stars! Turn the lights out on the Golden Knights.

Frantic moment or two for the Leaves there, in front of Samsonov.

Not happenin....they gotta show Boston how tough they are!
The Leaves are playing with a lot more grit and salty syrup tonight. I'll give them that.

Hey Leafs, stay outta the box.

If a team offers a first round pick for Laughton, (especially if it's a top 15 pick), I'd take the deal and run.. if I'm Briere. I don't care if this isn't a particularly deep draft.

Two of the three "leadership" guys just happen to be Holmgren draft picks. They're also the last Holmgren picks on the roster.

Ugh Jimmy Vesey the Ranger I dislike the most scores, after the goon.
The Caps look washed to me.
If this goes 5 I'll fall over.
I think it still goes 6, but my original pick of Ranjerks in 7, is very likely inaccurate.
-
Verhaeghe, you're playing for not playing for Tampa anymore. lol

3-1 Panthers, as Tkachuk probably seals Game 1, with an empty netter. This series is going 7. I'm pretty sure of it.

Once the Lightning realize they can hang with them in those same areas, as they showed late in the first, this series is anything but decided Florida's way.
I agree. It should one hell of a great, back and forth series. Two teams with a ton of skill, savvy and firepower. I have the Panthers winning it in 7.

Florida is my pick to win the Cup, and was at the start of the season. They can beat you any way that you want to play, and they have the goaltending, offense and mobile defense to do so. I'm surprised more so-called experts aren't picking them, to win it all. They can give any team in the league fits, and can answer the tenacity and skill, of teams like the Rangers, Lightning and Bruins.

Toronto got the tough one, the first one, out of the way. Now they killed a penalty off.

The Leafs are playing well, but they have to be willing to compete more along the boards.. as well as in open ice, for the puck. They're losing their battles and their composure, at times. They are getting their fair share in shots, and have more than Boston.

Jeremy Swayman with a big save to keep Toronto off the board.
Hmm...but is it REALLY such a big save if the guy shooting the puck was Ryan Reaves though??No, it was a good save on a big dude.

Carolina is going to win, but they'd better tighten up defensively. Also, Freddie Andersen has to be better.

Has anyone on this esteemed panel of hockey gurus ever been to Vorhees or the Wells Fargo Center in a shirt and tie? The reason I ask is this. A lot, and I mean a lot of respected hockey people have entered Flyerland and shortly after arriving in the hockey ops suites theis nuts have fallen off and their spines have turned to dust. Curious if this happened to you too.
Why is this so hard for so many. There are 31 other teams in the league, some successful, some not. All the examples needed are right there in front of their faces, yet somehow the great Flyer mojo continues to get to neither, they just seem so happy to be mediocre forever. I would respect them a lot more if they got in front of a microphone and said
" We know we suck, but it's our suck and we don't care what all you suckers, I mean season ticket holders think, we will continue to do it our misguided, assinine way as long as we want, and that's that."
After watching Danny B spew his bull crap Wednesday it's hard to think otherwise.
Danny B can be an excellent GM, of they let him. The problem is the season ticket holders don't turn on the higher up enough, therefore there is no urgency to change philosophy.
As coveted as he may have been by other teams..Flyers ownership probably told Keith Jones, to tell him something along the lines of, "We're hiring you and giving you a lot of money for your first NHL exec job, but we're watching, and we still want you do things mostly our way". I want a couple of years to see what either a) Danny B can do and/or b) what the execs allow him to do. On the surface, he's a good hire, in my opinion. However. due to those previously mentioned execs..he might be the equivalent on putting lipstick, on a pig.

The Avs Drouin ruled out for the first round, with an injury. Anyone changing their picks?

Draft Lottery Scheduled

I thought the Flyers had a chance to win the first pick, too, until last night when I found and read this article.

They can only draft as high, as the #2 pick.
