  1. contracts don't stop pucks players do.
  2. well i hope ol tea bag tim never gets the opportunity to dine at the white house again,
  3. hilarious, coffee out the nose funny ... nice
  4. @Spinorama or course we should run Tea Party Tim.. I mean he plays for the other team... duh ! *insert 14 year old punk voice for maximum effect* we're good, i get you...
  5. whoa big fella didn't mean to throw you into a tizzy there LOL... however let's review and we'll skip the part where this really isn't a sentence but a bunch of fragments strung together. "i mean i've been to boston and there's some good restaurants but when there's a chance for some white house made rice krispie treats you gotta jump at that shiz" I believe I used the word shiz as a noun there, thus making it the object predicate of that sentence; shiz is the thing at which you must jump. thanks for rolling with my sillyness.
  6. Was Sestito's hit on Kampfer suspension worthy? no i thought Sestito kept his arms down and was only a smidgen late, the hit was in the flow of the game Was Sestito's hit on Horton suspension worthy? I said yes, i think the tenor of the game had been set and this was how it was playing out yesterday, the hit was late, sestito is a big guy so he wound up hitting him high, i can see where shannahan could suspend sestito for a game or two Was Hartnell's hit on Kelly suspension worthy? no no no , the puck was right at kelly's feet when hartnell hit him it was a good hockey play, looked like thorton rag dolled him pretty good afterwards... i didn't see any of the skrimish just hartnell on the ice and thorton still standing, i was not expecting that.
  7. @Vanflyer shi# just trying to keep it clean for the kids... grammatically i think shiz is correct. my intention was to use it as the object predicate...
  8. shoot i'd go just for the lunch, i'll bet the food was freakin awesome, i saw the kitchen on a cooking show once. i mean i've been to boston and there's some good restaurants but when there's a chance for some white house made rice krispie treats you gotta jump at that shiz...
  9. Gus skates very well and is super calm for a newbie, he's handled himself pretty well in the brief glimpses i've caught of him... the whole bryzgalov thing is a bummer, i wanted the guy to be solid, just solid, not MAF or Broduer in his prime, just solid, like chris osgood ... stop the sh!t you're supposed to. the way he's going right now, it's like watching michael leighton you see a shot and think how did that get thru him, ? he's right in front of it. this kind of thing really speaks to the mental part of the game and he's gotta toughen up there, like immediately.
  10. @Spinorama i thought schenn's hit was great hockey play. i thought (Kelly?) immediately dropping the mitts was a momentum killer for the flyers. was it calculated on Kelly's part ?: did he think that was a big hit, it got the building rocking and the flyers buzzing even more, i gotta stop the momentum here . if so that sucks. i think the whole you hit my guy hard and clean now you need to answer for it , is real thug like. i'm not a guy that's against throwing hands when it's necessary , but i don't think it's necessary when a hit is hard and clean like schenns was, now if schenn ran him into the boards, hit him 3 seconds late, okay go getcher boy's back...otherwise be ready to play like it's the playoffs today.
  11. Kind of makes me feel like he's a douche, but then I don't have his life experiences, in spite of not caring one iota for George W Bush, i'd have been excited to meet him, maybe being tim thomas means you meet all kinds of powerful people and the president is no big deal... at least he's got the right to respectfully decline and voice his opinion. i think sesito should run him next game... just cause
  12. @AlaskaFlyerFan All my aunts and uncles are fine thanks I know Rinaldo was injured, the point being, he was already not available to help "regulate" . My opinion on Shelley seeing PP time was Lavy's intent was two fold: point one being... to not run the score, point two having him out there in case things got nasty which they can do even with the instigator suspension rule.
  13. And if my aunt had any balls she'd be my uncle. Here's the thing about the good old days fellas...they weren't. Yesterday was a game that should've had more pims from us, for sure. But I'll bet dollars to donuts 48's concussion was a result of that volchenkov hit and how precisely does gooning it up stop that play?. Elias is a punk who's never answered for the crap he pulls. How does gooning it up change that.? Plus Rinaldo was not seeing ice time from the time I tuned in mid way thru the second. Shelly was seeing pp time at the end I'm sure to pad his gaudy stats... Sucks that 48 got hurt, but I don't see where sending out shultzy and Kelly changes that.
  14. In fairness, 30 played well vs the devils.... he continues to play like he did today we're outta stuff to talk about, at least with the goal tenders.
  15. @quigly46 Buddy it's not 1976 anymore, you want the flyers to waterski behind skaters the way fonzi's guys do? There would be a constant parade to the box if guys in orange sweaters played that way... Full disclosure I didn't see the game last night so I don't know truly how bad it was, bundy and co on the radio were disappointed though. We get it, you haven't liked the coach since I've been on the board (end of Hitchcock ). The Isles are playing some good ball lately they smoked the wings, should have beaten us in the mausoleum last week. There is size up and down the line up, and there is no shortage of speed either, the game has changed it can be debated for good or not, but to constantly complain about a coach that wants his guys to play hard but avoid penalties after each loss leads me to believe you're not oriented to day date and year...
  16. This is a tough one, It is made difficult because he's a young guy and other guy's have had severe concussions, recovered and played well,fc mentioned p bergeron, but what about simon gagne, he had a stretch where he would get loopy if he looked at the ceiling too quickly, (exaggeraton) 4 years later he's still in the league. I would not want him to jepardize the rest of his life for sport, but I and I think the game would miss his talent and drive. it would be great if more guys would be like Messier and put some $ into research and equipment development so lessen these injuries, maybe utimately that will be Sid's contribution to the game. I wouldn't care if he lit us up as long as we win the series. If I were him i'd try to come back one more time, but i listen really closely to my body, if i were to experience symptoms from a stupid collision like the one i had with kunitz again i'd walk away. i don't think we've seen the last days fo 87 playing hockey at a high level.
  17. @Vincent05 Holmgren is about .500 in the (+/-R) stat. He did well with Foresberg.... that was him right ? Clarke was burnt out when that happened... not so well with Carcillo and Versteeg, the Pronger deal was not the best but he did well with Carter and Richards this year. So to categorize him as some dufous that is always getting pantsed by the other GMs in the league is not close to accurate. It's not like he's Kevin McHale from the NBA or that poor schmuck in Memphis Chris Wallace, who are always getting bent over, and continue to field lousy teams inspite of always getting first crack at the best players.
  18. I'd do JvR for Suter only if I know I can sign him... I don't trade JvR if there's a whiff of Suter wanting to "test the waters".... so a deal with him would have to be agreed upon prior pulling the trigger.
  19. this. is. awesome. not, "shot in the face 51 million times" awesome, but awesome none the less.
  20. @brelic I know bre, just going from recent experience as a fan you know, sharp, fedotenko, williams, blah blah blah, we do need to address the age of the defensive anchors, and i agree if they both blossom we win, the unknown is just so... you know unknown.
  21. Here's my fear: it's the Leaf vs the Flyers in the 2014 ECF and watching JvR finally "get it" and work Luke Schenn like he was named black and decker down low and on the rush. Toronto wins ... ick. after watching moneyball, you can just never know what a guy's ceiling is though; and maybe JvR winds up like Billy Beane the baseball player and we win the trade.
  22. @Vincent05 i think you're right, it was the obligatory couple of draft picks, i remember being pretty excited about maybe having him play for us, he has a good shot and skates well, i thought he'd be solid for a long time. i don't remember if DH stated publicliy about not signing here, what i remember was the agent saying he was hoping to play on the west coast.but i've slept since then...
  23. @Vincent05 i remember Dan Hamhuis not coming here after we traded for the right to negotiate with him... since he gilted us though he's had some bad luck with staying healthy so maybe not the worst that could have happend.
