TK reminds me of Debrincat, small but does not play like it and a point a game winger. Konecny has gotten better a point. Game with elevated defensive metrics with no true center and nobody running the back end to push the play. Torts loves him, and still may have more tools in his toolbox to build on. Yzerman played hardball with Debrincat on term which I get because it is a business as well as a sport, if you can sign him for six years great, frankly that is ideal but if he balks you just do what needs done. Konecny. Listen, the man can play. He leads the Flyers in goals and points, last year he missed 22 games and led them in goals and points anyway. Has a snarl, not big but can play big. He has likely peaked as a point a game top line power forward but at 26 he may still have a bit of upside. What is there not to like? IMHO guys like that are cornerstone players, you have to have them to build around. So if he signs for 8x7.5 with the cap going up you simply do it and plug him in. He is important to the future of the Flyers you simply have to keep him. Signing him as a reward as he has gotten better and better sends a message to the kids .

Finally Another awful failed experiment. Living here, literally one hour away no fans of the game except the occasional ones who moved in from elsewhere. Horrible drafts. Bad signings. I don't know man, I am simply not a fan of either prospect, kuzmenko can score and has term which is good and adding a first. Lindholm is an UFA and Vancouver will likely not be able to afford him. If the Canucks bomb and lose in the first round and lose Lindholm as a free agent, Calgary wins. If Vancouver has a deep or very deep run, western finals or scf the Canucks win. And while unlikely they may be able to sign Lindholm. So a lot up in the air. All things being equal I would much rather have Lindholm.

The prospects are meh, but a first is good, a fourth just another lottery ball. I know Boston and others wanted Lindholm, getting what they got has to be a win for the Flames. VANCOUVER gave up a winger who does not play defense and a first for a fantastic center. Lindholm makes the top six better the second power play look better than some teams first. I believe both teams did great but Vancouver simply won this deal.

These guys are UFA who will be moved at or near the deadline. Zaitsev Hanifin if not resigned Tanev Lyinushkin Bean Edmundson Edmonton is sorely lacking cap space but where there is a Will there is a way. Any of these guys healthy and playing second line would make them even deeper.

I am in three fantasy leagues with most of these guys, I traded for Skinner in every single league about game ten for around fifty cents on the dollar. Edmonton always starts slow than catches fire. From a fantasy standpoint I love Skinner and it will get better. Ek'/ nurse/bouchard are damn good quality if someone wakes Holland up another will be added. I picked them to win the championship my mind has not been changed.

Merzlikins is not a number one goalie for any team who is being serious. Overpaid, does not have killer instinct. Offer a bag of well used warm up pucks and take on half his salary the CBJ will be glad to dump him. Puff puff pass.

Moving on from Cutter.... Drysdale is a top flight quality defender, first pair shut down guy, QB on the second power play. Honestly he was in the Calder convo his rookie year of a solid class. A few years are burned but the kid can flat out play. This is not a vet playing Torts system, this is a kid with tons of talent. A few years burned in Anaheim which sucks but seriously, the kid can play. Not a big kid but quick, instinctive, the offense will probably end up around 45-50 points as a peak. Health is a huge asterisk but use your eyes. The Flyers are better right now with him in the lineup.
