This was meant that they were pushing to make the playoffs even tho they had no business of making the playoffs with that defense and how inconsistent the team played all year. With them winning games the last few weeks cost us a high draft pick and maybe adding a franchise player. Who knows maybe Morin will be.

They can go over the Cap by 10% in the offseason. Have to be cap compliant by the first day of season I think.

Last year they tried to sign Suter and/or Parise when that failed they signed Weber to the offersheet. I'm glad that those players aren't here or those contracts would hurt us at those terms. The previous year was "remaking" the team. They traded Richards and Carter for young guys and to clear cap space to sign the best FA goalie. Look how that turn out, you can't always go for the best FA player in the market. Doesn't always work out how you want it to.

I would've traded for Schneider in a heartbeat. I have no problem with Morin but he is a project right now, I rather have the sure thing now and that sets us up in goal for the next 7-8 years. I agree with moving Coburn for a few 2nds (rumor Oilers offered both of theirs?). We could've take Fucale, Hagg and another dman.

If Homer had a plan to begin with, we could've had Schneider, Streit, Vinny, Fucale, Hagg and another drafted dman. While we traded Coburn, a 1st, 3rd or 4th. Plus he can give Mez away to free cap space and sign a steady defensive dman to replace Coburn. Maybe Scuderi or Ference. This is all for not anyways as he has no plan.

I really like Mez, think he just caught some bad breaks no pun intended these last 2 years. I rather take a chance on him this coming year. Like Rux stated Coburn frustrates the heck out of me, we don't see the physical play much if at all and too many times the other team will have guys scoring goals infront of the net and he just stands there watching them. You guys over rate him.

I think a 1st and 3rd or 4th would've gotten it done. I don't get this team at all, they will give up alot for a forward or dman they love who is over the hill but they won't trade for a proven goalie. We've seen Florida trade Luongo for crap before and now Schneider for a 1st. Until their mindset change or they are no longer around we can't expect much different.

I can see him kicking our ass just like Brodeur has for all this year. We will be regretting we didn't get him.

If we had the 4th pick and drafted Jones, wouldn't that make up for the horrible year and possibly have our franchise dman we been craving for? Sometimes it's good to go for it when you have a team that is set. But that's not the case with the Flyers, they always have a hole either it be in goal or defense. I wouldn't be against them going for it every year if they have a solid goalie but they never do.

This year we still have the same question mark in goal. Schneider was available, I would've traded the first plus whatever to beat out NJ. If they had picked up Schneider, I see no problem going for it all and would be excited as we would have a better shot to win. With Mason and Emery, I have no confidence that they will be able to get the job done. And yes they are better then Bryz. They had a chance again at solidifying the position this offseason but for whatever reason they are back to signing journeymans as their goalie. If the Bryz factor scared them then they are idiots.

And we as diehard fans suffer yet again from their failed efforts of going "all in" every year.

Any of our dman can get hurt at any given time. They all block shots. Yes Grossman might be more prone because I see him play a physical game unlike Coburn. Coburn is barely physical and he got a seperated shoulder at the end of the year. Lol

I do hope they play Gus alot but don't see Lavy doing it. He likes to play the vet more.

I like Hartnell but don't like the term on his contract with the MNC. I also think the majority don't like that either. Otherwise he's a great team guy.

I wouldn't put it past Homer, he loves signing old guys and especially bringing back ex-Flyers. Remember they are "all in" this year.

I see Boston is happy to rid of him and got a nice return.

The JR trade was another one that was strictly cap related, so homer does have a established history of losing assets due to cap problems. Mez may be the next victim, just like JR, we might have to throw in a draft pick to make it happen...take our bum, his salary and we give you are 5th rounder in 2020....ha ha.

The JR move was done so we open up cap space to sign Forsberg coming out of the lockout if I remember correctly. The dman Gauthier was a cap move along with Upshall and a 2nd.

We can only hope the Cap goes up 10 mil. Schenn and Coots probably get alittle raise too. Then we have to sign 2 goalies again so that will probably be 5-6 mil for 2? And we need to add in a over the hill FA with MNC Homer has to sign. No money left for Read.

You can do so when we celebrate the 43rd anniversary of our last Cup.

Yes every sports team is in it to make money, that I know. Any of them BS their fans that they want to win the Championship? How many times have we hear him say that but yet find a true way of winning it all. I get that he's trying but he's been trying for over 30 years now and he should see by now what he's doing wrong and yet he keeps repeating on with the same path. Yes he spends money to build a competitive team out there but if he doesn't spend and put a competitive team out there he can't sell tickets or make money. I read somewhere that to make a good profit you gotta make the playoffs.

We all know and I'm sure he knows that signing big FAs every year and turning the roster over yearly won't win it all but does he care to really win it. Yes we sucked in 2007 and could've start the rebuild process but what did he and Homer do sign the biggest FA out there to get back into the playoffs. The same exact thing is happening again this year.

This is why I am thinking the way I do. We won't win it all til Snider dies.

Agree jammer, the majority of us want to see them win the Cup. While the stepfords love every move they make, good or bad they see no problem as long as they winning.

I don't mind giving Harts one more year to see if he rebounds. I like him but I hate his contract with the NMC Homer seems to give every1. I was looking for a way to get cap space to resign Read and Hartnell just looks good to me if we can get out of that contract.

Nothing new, been this way for how long? I see them giving Bryz a shot and it failed so they going back to stock up on offense to out gun the opponent.
