  1. I agree - Harts is not the problem with this team.
  2. Dude are you even from Philly? Do you forget Specator? Prism? 610 WIP? The Prism infrastructure is still used by Comcast Sportsnet. I don't want to get nasty, but I think you are killing the guy who brought us the damned team in the first place!! If not for Snider there would be no Flyers organization from day 1. Yea, kill me for not wanting to run the old guy out.....but you can't deny what he's built.
  3. I can't defend Ed for acting like a prick, he totally comes of as smug. But he has the hardware and in his mind he has built this franchise into the winningest one in the City of Philadelphia's history....not to mention what he's done with Comcast, so I can see where he gets defensive and diskish when some media weasel calls him out. I just don't think the guy is that bad defending his guys who just had his team in the finals three years back. He's loyal to a fault I guess, but trust is not a bad thing when you have results that pay off. Trust me, I love this team as much as the rest of you.....and debate on these items is a good thing. I just don't think he deserves that much venom as a guy like Homer should be getting it for taking the team backwards the past two seasons.
  4. If Jeff Lurie won two superbowls with the Eagles since 1974, and got them to 7 more since then there would be a statue of the man standing out front of the stadium. Yea, Ed Snider needs to go because we don't have a champtionship since 1975.......really? Honest question: at what point does watching a competitive team who has a chance EVERY season to get to the cup not good enough? Until the past 3 years the deal with the Flyers EVERY SEASON was that "This is our year". Every year we have that feeling this team can win this thing. It's been impressive, because I have never felt that way with the Phillies (prior to 2007). Eagles had a nice run with Andy, but there is no track record like the Flyers have with their consistent winning. I'm not even going to bring up the Sixers. I think people are piling on Snider for the fact this team stinks this season.......but conveniently forget this team was a perennial winner every year for nearly the past 30 years!!!
  5. Maybye you should try some pills that make you happy - cause it's pretty ******* sad I'm labeled a troll for defending the owner of a franchise who's seen his team reach 9 stanly cup finals since I've been born.
  6. Yea, I forgot the main point of this board is to just rip everything Flyers, who am I to defend anyone? Sorry to rain on the hate parade, but we have a great owner who will pay any amount to win. 90% of reporters and players who have commented on this agree, seems you are in the minority.
  7. It's blatant disrespect. This rat has been in this town for 2 months and he has the nerve to call out the owner and coach like this? Ummmm........no. And you wonder why the media has bad a bad rap after turds like this show this kind of disrespect. I bet the turd has never played a game of ice hockey in his life. He's just trying to make a name for himself at the expense of men he should show a little more respect to and it's not right.
  8. People need to show Snider more respect around these parts - it's disgraceful. Loyal, commited, smart, passionate, proven and genuine - what do you people want an MBA/business first approach moron like the one we have that owns the Sixers/Devils? He's not running a damn business, he's looking out for his guys and is passionate about winning first above all else. I'll take Ed Snider 10x over. Wise up people.
  9. Sielski is a little rat, why should the Chief show him any respect after the **** he pulled on Snider?
  10. This team does not have the talent to compete with the best teams in the East - it's that simple. Flyer fans consistently overrate our team, this year is no different. Maybe Berube can instill a different system that puts more emphasis on neutral ice pressure/trap, forcing turnovers and getting odd-man breaks to make up for the lack of talent we have up front. We don't have the horses to run and gun with a lousy back check by slow undiscplined players and older D men who will wear down(my impression of what Lavy wanted). This team hasn't been able to score 5 on 5 for two years now, so why not run a Roger Nielsen type system until we can upgrade our forwards? Just my 2 cents.
  11. The guy had no edge or personality and I always thought he was on the soft side. Talented as all hell, but I just never grew to like him like I did Brindy, 88, Tocchet and Recchi.
  12. Thank God. Gagne is the exact type of player you don't keep when trying to develop younger talent. Am I a bad Flyers fan because I never really liked Gagne?
  13. Well that was a tease. At least Striet and Vinny will provide the type of leadership that Cleary would have brought to the table, something this team desperately needs. He would have been an upgrade over Talbot for sure, but I'm ok with keeping Max on that 3rd line.
  14. Its not even close that this is an upgrade over Gagne. Gagne is less versatile, more injury prone and would be a true waste of roster space for anyone looking to have an argument about giving a younger guy a chance. Gagne is the exact type of player you dispose of to give that younger guy a chance. Dan Cleary brings an edge and intensity the team will feed off of, and he's a proven clutch player. He is a tone setter and another solid leader to add to the locker room along with Streit and Vinny. I'll take a proven winner like Cleary everyday over an old stiff like Gagne.
  15. GREAT move and the costs are just fine. You add Cleary to this team in 2012 and they make the playoffs. He's a difference maker on the ice and a tone setter, something this team desperately needs. Good work Homer.
  16. I've read some rumors about Dion Phaneuf possibly being on the block in Toronto, with the latest involved in Letang rumors? I've always liked this guy and would live to see him in Orange and Black, but not sure we even have enough to land him or if we could make it fit with the cap. Anyone else heard anything on the Phaneuf trade rumors?
  17. You guys hate Bryz so much you'd post anything to try to support your hate. Bryz is a perfect example as why this team has not had a great goalie in years. This fanbase a toxic, logic free-zone when it comes to judging players fairly, especially goalies. Bryz was overpaid, no doubt. But because of the paycheck half of the Flyers fans out there immediately expected Patrick Roy to show up. And when he didn't play like a world beater the first month of the season - the hate of no-return began. Even when the guy pulled together a great strech in March 2012 (NHL player of the month) during the stretch run leading into the playoffs half this board were still just hating, hating, hating. Its toxic. Your expectations were too high. Don't judge a played on the money he makes/his contract, bitch to the owner about overpaying for the *****g guy!!!! I'm down at games sitting around assholes booing the guy when the team was winning the damn game at the time. The guy was under a microscope from the first shot on net, and IMO too many people just pile on and lose any sense of objectivity because of the bad contract. Maybe we can get along better once a polarizing guy/contract like Bryz is gone. I think the team needs to move on, how can you question this terrible contract(not that anyone is!!)? But I do question the impatience and overly critical nature of this fanbase. Hell, even yesterday I had to sit and listen to my brother tell me how G is "pure garbage" and that they should trade him now before he becomes a FA. I love my brother, but he is a bone-headed Philly fan that gets me riled up with the overly critical opinion on every player if they don't play like the best. He typifies a lot of guys in this town. Just too damn hateful towards our own players. Canoli - my main advice for you would be to just let it go man!! Forget what guys may have said about Bryz three years ago, he's gonna be gone so why with this water under the bridge stuff?? I would think about this team with Mason next year and forget Bryz even played here at all.
  18. Amaro by a mile - its not even close. Dude has straight up failed at his job and the team has gotten progressively worse each season since he took over to the point they are now a losing franchise. Defending Homer: Look......Bryz was overpaid and it was Snider who pressured the move, so I don't exactly fault Homer for this one. Second, I don't fault him for Bob either. Bob never showed more than average ability with this team, they had Bryz, and it was a pressure cooker here that they never thought Bob could handle. The minute the kid was traded to a team with NO PRESSURE to win or really do anything he started playing well. I guarantee Bob steps back to a quite normal year in 2014 now that he's gotten the attention of the league. Third - Homer did EVERYTHING possible to get Weber(i.e. replace Pronger), you can't fault him that Nashville mortgaged their entire future as an organization to keep him. Fourth - Homer had to get rid of Carter and Richards, they were complete malcontents prior to their respective trades. A case could have been made for keeping Richards, but Carter had to go. Lastly, I am not a Homer "lover" or whatever term you guys want to throw around. I think he is better at judging talent and I trust the guy. I have no trust in Amaro. None. He needs to be fired at the end of the season or I'm not stepping foot back down there. I really don't even trust him as we head towards the trade deadline either.......I could see him doing even more damage. He flat out sucks.
  19. Yea, I'm one of Bryz's last supporters and I have to admit Bob is proving himself in a big way, while Bryz just looks like he wants to go back to Russia.
  20. No doubt - another high profile player vilified by the fans and media for being human. Bryz has not played up to his contract, but he didn't deserve the anger sent his way last season when he was getting boo'd three weeks into the season and half the town hating him because he is intrigued by space. With Bryz likely gone, who's the whipping boy next year??? Carter is gone (easy target). Do we go back to killing Harnell? Actually, I think G will be next once he signs his extension.
  21. Season's like this make us turn on the players, coaches and even each other. I know I've had some heated exchanges defending guys that I'm pretty tired of defending...........
  22. Yea, like this fanbase has patience for that. Cold day in hell......
