  1. I second the motion. And it's not "punt" either. I was at the game yesterday. 1st of all, what an atmosphere! The place was over the top!! Secondly, Syndey and Neal need to be drilled in game 4. Nothing dirty, just a good clean open ice hammer drop that puts them on a stretcher.
  2. He became a Flyer last night. Wow, what a game he had!
  3. Pronger is likely done. Let Carle walk in order to sign Suter. Kubina may walk. Be nice to have him at the right price though. Grossmann absolutely needs to be resigned.
  4. Pronger has always been one of my favorite players and was elated when the Flyers traded for him. He is a huge presence on the Flyers. But, if he decides to come back next year at his age and what he has been through this year, I will personally kick him in the teeth..........and then run like the dickens. Also, without the additions of Grossmann and Kubina, this team was toast.
  5. As much as I hate to say it, I've writtem Pronger off. I think his career is over. Damn shame, he is the glue to the team. I would like to see Carle stay, but only at an affordable rate. If it gets too rich, let him walk. On the other hand, he may be traded at the deadline in a package for another D'Man possibly? I think Kimmo will play out his contract and retire at the end of next season. I have no problem at all with him doing that. He's a great player. Sign Suter in the off-season to fill in Carle's spot, assuming he's gone.
  6. As badly as the Flyers need defense, I don't see Jagr lasting in the playoffs. I also don't see Jagr extending his career much past next season. And let's face it, he's a skating turnover factory. He's not nearly as quick as he once was. I think Nash and Giroux would be devestating. If I'm Homer and have a chance to grab Nash and wait till summer to sign a topnotch D'Man, I do it.
  7. Unfortunately, with the quality of play we get from Bryz, we could trade for Boston's starting 5 skaters and it wouldn't make a difference.
  8. I think I'd pass and turn my attention to a forward that will replace Jagr when he gets hurt again. Nothing against the guy, but I just don't think he'll be durable enough for the playoffs. Unless of course, something along the lines of a Suter becomes available. Then, I would turn my attention back to a D'Man.
  9. jeezus........that's depressing. Thanks for the info though.
  10. ..........not that anyone would want him. Just wondering.
  11. Oh yeah. I agree 100%. I can't believe how smart and poised he is with the puck. It's really amazing for an 18 year old kid. Yeah, I'd like to see him get more minutes and play with more talented players. JVR?? Maybe it's just me, but, I was expecting a whole lot more out a #2 overall pick. I thought he turned the corner in the playoffs last year. Now I'm back to not caring what happens to him. He's basically a time killer while the real threats take a breather.
  12. Jagr/Giroux/Hartnell got it going on. The line seems flat with one of them out. You have to keep Jagr and hope for the best at this point. I would be willing to give up a significant amount for Weber. He's arguably the best D'Man in the league and tough. He's basically the Pronger of 10 years ago. A game changing/dominating defenseman is required to go deep in the playoffs. The glaring problem is Bryz. If he continues to play like he has been, it's a 1st round exit. Without a solid goalie, the ship is sunk.
  13. Without a Pronger "type" D'man, we're not deep enough on defense to make a cup run. As much as Jagr has surprised me with his play, I don't see him being healthy enough for a strong playoff run. He's already gimped up. Bryz flat out sucks. Total disappointment. Based on his current play, no chance in the playoffs.
  14. be an excellent indicator of how bad we need another D'Man at this point of the season. Both teams oplaying at there best. Questions will be answered tomorrow.
  15. Yeah, good example. But even Zherdev was more of a finisher. Voracek crosses the blueline and coughs it up.......every time.
  16. I'm scared he's got nothing to offer. I hope I'm wrong.
