  1. That Time I Was Competent ~ Chuck Fletcher special edition includes a weak defense and no forward
  2. Maybe. I like Lavy and always have, but I think this is a mistake. Time will tell. I'm okay with future results proving me wrong.
  3. No, but the fact he got higher that Hart. I mean, he's a large part of Anaheim's problems, whereas Hart is arguably tanked by the team.
  4. Where did they conduct this survey? A Narcanon meeting? I mean, Gibson? Really?
  5. The bold: Yes, but I wouldn't expect a ton of prospects or even one high-end prospects for an overpriced maybe 3C. He's still better on wing, but you're not getting a top prospect. IMO he actually has more value on a rebuilding club like the Flyers than he does on a team looking to take the next step. the Hart part. I don't think the Sabres are in the goalie market, and certainly not for a goalie with average stats and the last year before his RFA when they have Luukkonen and Levi--who is pretty good--waiting in the wings. They're set. I don't see them as a goalie buyer. And certainly not for #13.
  6. Plausible, but I'd take anything he says with a grain of salt. He really isn't any more connected than anyone here.
  7. Which is reportedly the kind of crap Holmgren repeatedly did. Clarke: "It's not my fault he's an idiot."
  8. This is actually why I was looking at it. They're either going to lose the Holy Triumvirate or they're going to decline enough that it really doesn't matter that they're there. And outside of them they're not all that strong. I'd try to include their FRP this year, for sure, but I'd want something in the top 3 rounds for 2025.
  9. Mostly, but only because it would be hard to stomach playing the Penguins with him in net for the next 7-10 years. On the otherhand, maybe he holds out on his RFA and they have to move him because he tells them, "yinz french fries, poorly-seasoned pastrami and slaw on mushyass bread are disgusting. Cheese steaks and poutine are so much better!" Even better if he says it live on 105.9 The X.
  10. What does his no trade look like? Do you know? Because I think a trade to the teams that fit your description might be nixed by it, but I don't know the specifics. Do you know if it's a full or is it one of those he has to list either "yes" teams or "no" teams?
  11. Oh, I'm not against collecting Tippet types. But unless it's multiple (at least 2 plus picks or at least three) I'm not using Hart to do it. If Hart carries a Risto or Hayes with him I'll take a look at the specific deal.
  12. You know who needs a goalie? The Pittsburgh Penguins. Wouldn't THAT be fun?!
  13. Honestly, if I'm getting a young guy like Tippet, I'd rather keep the young guy like Hart. Forward vs goalie at relatively the same age, I'm sticking with the goalie. And that's not intended as a knock on Tippet. Your argument about picks has merit so it makes me pause on the "get picks for Hart!" war chant, but I'm not trading him for a forward. Multiple young skaters with promise? All forwards or forward/defense mix? I might be interested again. I don't have any particular package in mind, though.
  14. Agreed. I mean, honestly, I don't have a huge problem with the player. He had a terrible year on a terrible team. He needs to take responsibility for his contribution to the terrible team thing. But the kid has shown he can play (YMMV). On a flailing team looking to rebuild, though he's way overpriced and way over-termed. I mean, we might be able to dump him if we wanted to work at getting rid of him, but unless Fletcher is hired somewhere else, you're not getting someone to trade absurd picks or prospects for that cost and term. Certainly not for a second pair defenseman (at best). If you really want to get rid of him, you package him with Hart in a deal with Montreal. I think he'll be a cap killer for them later if not right away, but it's possible you get their #31 and something. A 3rd next year? You're tacitly trading off on the better return you would have otherwise received for Hart, but you're still getting a first and dumping a terrible contract. I think the 3rd is arguably too much, but maybe not
  15. Sanheim clearly had a bad year, but he's not anywhere near the top of my list of problems. I think with any decent teammates he's a sound defenseman. But he's signed at >$6M until he's 33. It's simply an asinine contract before you add the NTC into it. If you can find some idiot to give you a first round pick for that player and situation, by all means do it and laugh your ass all the way home. Make sure you keep the receipts so you're not accused of shoplifting. I don't know how you get a first round pick for that player and circumstance without a gun and a video of the other GMs kids locked in the basement of a Guatemalan sex trafficker. But certainly try. Maybe don't try the gun and the video, though. [Dear Secret Service: this was intended as hyperbolic illustration and not as a legitimate suggestion]
  16. Breaking news: Flyers are in talks with the Russian Army regarding Carter Hart for Fedotov and a Walker prospect to be named later. He's on his way to Nagurskoye right now. Hope he got a new Tim Hortons. And maybe a Snickers.
  17. I saw that game and remember it clearly! By far the best (and maybe only memorable) moment of his Phillies career.
  18. Yeah, I saw it to. It's a plausible possiblity. Edmonton would have to figure out their current goalies, though. Edmonton would have to find someone to take Campbell, I would think, unless they give up on Skinner, which doesn't make sense to me. But, some team took Cal Peterson, so anything's possible with Campbell.
  19. Yes, I saw him heading west on the Yellowhead Highway just west of Battleford. I wouldn't have noticed him but he dropped a Tim Horton's cup out the window on his blocker side.
