I'm not surprised by their record. I'm surprised by the cause.  They either made a horrific decision to stick with the morons posing as goaltenders or just couldn't swing a deal.  But anyone with an elevator reaching the top floor had to know the offense had to click on all cylinders at all times if they were going to win games. Because their defense is suspect as well 

But whether it's the offense being hampered by trying to help with a pedestrian defense and moribund goaltending or there's something wrong up front, as well.

I'm really hoping their front office tried to make a goalie move and failed rather than thinking they'd be okay in goal, because the latter should induce either criminal charges or a medical intervention.

But have an insane amount of rubber fired at them nightly the sharks are being outshoot by nearly fourteen per night averaging 38 shots against with a bit over 24 for. Already four times, nearly half they have given up over 40 shots in a game, three times the shots against has more than doubled shots for. Although both goalies have goals against in the threes, it is because the ice is tilted so badly their way. I did not mention either goalie by name to protect the innocent. They are like Custer on ice. Simply overran.

 They have been outscored 37-9. Literally they have been outscored by over 4-1 nightly. They only have one game where they were not outscored by two or more.

 

  They are last by a mile in goal differential. Last in power play. Last on the penalty kill. Last in takeaway/giveaway. 

 Only bright stat is they are second in faceoffs because somehow, someway Hertl is playing his tail off.

  Couture is still not back from injury but he cannot be counted on as the savior, this is one of the absolute worst non expansion teams of all time.

The only problem, from my vantage, is you still are left with Kadri and Huberdeau.  I still trade all four, but they're going to have to figure those two players out.  They're not snake bitten.  There's seemingly more at play there.

You follow them and I don't read a lot of Calgary stories.  Is there something gone terribly wrong in the locker room?  Or did people get paid and say "#### it, I'm tenured. Take it from me!"   I like Lindholm, but pretending he, too, isn't a problem, he's not good enough to carry whatever else is going on there.

Maybe, but that honestly didn't look like that to me.   The other player appeared to get hit and was pinwheeled.   Hit him with his skate kind of as an upper cut (sorry, terrible way to put this, considering) right into his windpipe.    The other player went flying into a heep and then seemed horrified.

I have to do something in goal, though, just to make sure I get starts.  I'm burning through moves just to get Albertson's cashiers to pretend to be a goalie for a night just to make starts--no worries about winning anything or a sub-5.xx GAA.  I've just needed to force a start count.    I really like Tage.  I've burned through Tage and Ovechkin (who I do NOT like and never will) just to have average goalies to float with.   I hope the Yahoo coding monkey who picked Koch and fricken Fleury in the autodraft is sold to a mascara company in Bangladesh.

Yeah, I can see this.  And the unfortunate thing is they have a pretty good front but go and stick Korpisalo in the net.  I have zero confidence in him (I think he's terrible, actually).   He's probably the only goalie that couldn't steal a job from Merzlikins.
