  1. We will look back on this date as the day we traded Patrick Brown. Good luck PB.
  2. I'm good with both the picks. I'm disappointed that Danny Boy couldn't snag an extra pick or 2 more with such a deep class. Time will tell how deep. Is Michkov permitted to attend development camp? Anyone have an insight to this?
  3. Agents, journalists, little bobbleheard turd commissioners, bloggers, tweeters, tik tokkers, chat rooms, all factors in the modern NHL. IMHO, this is all on the chucktard. Somebody was paying him to sabotage our once mighty Flyers! And Eklund might have actually made a good point. There is such a glut of bad contract dumping and players wanting out of town that GM's can be patient and not overpay.
  4. Who is the blind deaf and dumb media voting member that picked Connor McDavid 5th on your Hart Trophy ballot? C'mon, show yourself. I want to be able to laugh out loud every time I see your name. How did you ever get credentialed ? Do you have naked pictures of the bobblehead comish? What a joke.
  5. The Gaudreaus and the Colfields and the Brinks help you make the playoffs. The Flyers need to draft guys who help you WIN in the playoffs. From all I have read, Ryan Leonard is the latter. I am fine with the pick.
  6. There is no hockey value in Krug, he is old and small and broken. It is the cost of doing business in Bobbleheads NHL. In order to get rid of Hayes and acquire a draft pick, you have to eat some crap, as in Krug. All these moves are for down the road, not whats on the ice next September. Danny B is in Arizona mode, the Flyers will be contract munchers for 3 or 4 years, in exchange for draft capital. Having enough Krugs and Walkers etc also gets you on the pole for future drafts.
  7. I'm still going to be optimistic about these trades. We all got ahead of ourselves with the Ivan deal, and it turned out all right. I also think the bobblehead comish wants to be able to announce these trades on draft night and get his bobblehead air time. I still say 4 firsts on draft night.
  8. This a-hole Krug actually believes he is a difference maker. He's too stupid to realize that the Blues don't want him. His agent extorted a stupid , chucktard like contract out of the Blues, and now nobody wants him, so he is taking his ball and going home. He is also too stupid to realize the Flyers don't want him either, he is just collateral in order to get a draft pick. Nobody ever said hockey players were bright.
  9. I think Krug or whatever his name is is afraid of the Flyers training/medical staff. The little twerp bruises easily.
  10. NFL teams trade back to get additional picks. 53 man rosters in a sport with a career span of 4 years makes for big turnovers. Plus, they are drafting from a source of 120 D1 schools with 90 man rosters. Lots to choose from. I think Danny B is playing hold em with Laughton and TK. I would definitely take the STL offer. I am a Laughton fan, watched him as a junior, the guy cares, but a rebuild is a rebuild and a fresh start IMHO would be good for all. I also believe that having a large number of young talented players will create 3 positive aspects to the rebuild. First, it will create strong competition for roster spots in the show and LV. Second, I think getting these kids together and having them grow together as a group is a good thing. They will suffer and succeed as a band of brothers, and the leaders will emerge from within the group. Third, it gives you a solid cupboard of assets to maneuver with down the road, and it gives you cap flexibility when the ELC's start to expire. I see the Flyers walking out of Bridgestone with 4 firsts next Wednesday night. Fingers crossed.
  11. Skate, work ethic, high IQ. Leonard and Gauthier both have these. The chucktard didn't value these traits. He preferred old, broken, stupid. I'm good with both these picks. Sadly, bobbleheads NHL has 32 teams we have to share with.
  12. I think more deals will happen at the draft. Commissioner bobblehead wants the air time announcing trades on the draft floor. My 2 cents on this draft, if Mishkov is there at 7 you go for it. As FCanuck said he will be 21 when his KHL deal ends. I still believe the draft should be moved up to 20 years old. At 18 these are just kids. They will all mature differently. Certain amount of risk in all of them growing up. The NBA and the NFL draft 22 year olds. Thats a huge difference in maturity, mentally and physically. NCAA players are drafted after 4 years of D1 ball. The NHL draft picks kids after 2 years of CHL hockey. Europeans play against men as 17 year olds, and American players are drafted before entering college hockey. After the top 2 or 3 this draft there are IFS.
  13. Do the have a Philip Broberg? Or a Ryan Leonard? Fantilli? Mishcov? Hayes? Slow news day.
  14. They should fire Torts and hire coach x for the next 2 years. Top 10 stalls the rebuild. I am done with mediocre.
  15. My wish when next season ends is the Flyers to be dead last. Hoping for anything more is foolish. Draft, draft, draft. IF Danny B can snag a couple more 1sts this year and next and they hit on those picks the Flyers might actually be an attractive place to play in the nearer future. Patching this lineup to try and get to .500 is assinine. Draft, draft, draft.
  16. Hayes going to the allstar game was probably a condolence move for his family tragedy. The all star game is just one more hockey issue with bett turd stink on it. ( see John Scott). Hayes is one of many problems Danny B has inherited from the chucktard. Getting him off the books asap is the goal here. I don't think a buyout is the best way to do it. Trading him with a pick is the way to go. Along with TDA. And Ellis. And Coots' contract. And Sanheims' contract. And Ristolainen. Amazing how crippling Chucktard was to this franchise. Happy Fathers Day !!
  17. I'm not sure buyout is the route to go this summer. I don't disagree with get him gone, but it can work both ways having him in the lineup. If he sucks and floats around then he helps achieve the target of finishing on the pole for the 1st pick next year. If he actually plays half decent he can be moved at the deadline and won't need to attach a pick to move him, just some salary retention. I really don't care about culture and learning the Torts way, if you are rebuilding, then do it from the top of the draft, not the middle. The middle just gets you mediocre.
  18. I am all in on acquiring the best in trade. I am also cautious about overpaying for a maybe. The Flyers need many pieces, overpaying for 1 can destroy a rebuild. I am also reminded of top of the draft busts, Flyer fans will remember. IMHO, #7 & #22 and perhaps 1 or 2 more 1sts in this draft, which is projected as being deep will be a great first step toward future success. I think achieving solid depth for the future outweighs the other option at this draft. There is still a covid factor in this draft, all these players had their development affected by the pandemic. As exciting as the shiny toys are, the Flyers are still an exercise in subtraction as much as addition. Its probably the only time I ever agree with Torts. This draft is huge for the Flyers, but you can't win the US Open on Day 1 but you can lose it. Sorry for the random wandering thoughts, I never did well in essay class.
  19. The chucktard didn't just lose every trade, he got totally fleeced. The GM's who fleeced him are still giggling about it. It's staggering how bad he was, and more staggering he was allowed to keep doing it for 5 freaking years.
  20. Bernie played for the leafs for a year or 2 with Jaques Plante. That is where and when he became the complete player he was. Also, he played behind a dominate team, not just the goonie ism everyone talks about. He faced very few high calibre 2nd shots, and very few players had the cahonies to stand in front of him. The Flyer blueline was underrated, and very physical. As for Hart, every player who belongs to the Flyers is available for the right price. There are no top of the lineup players right now in the system, only a couple of possibles. The rebuild has to be exclusively an eye for top 6 talent. Current Flyers who look okay in meaningless games in January would be pressed for that kind of success in May or June. If you can sweeten deals by adding a Frost or a Farabee then you have to listen to try and obtain top 6 talent. just MHO.
  21. Thats Danny B's conundrum. Is his value going to increase with Torts in the picture? Probably not. I think you risk everyone's worth with Torts around. The guy is a car bomb waiting to go off. I didn't watch enough to see if anyone got better last year. As much as people had a hate for Mike Keenan, everyone who played for him was better for it, even if they disliked him. Not sure if Torts brings that.
  22. Fantilli looks like the real deal, but the Flyers picking #2 scares the crap out of me, based on the past 2 occurrences!! Not sure which way to go on this one. It is intriguing.
  23. I want the Flyers to have the worst goaltending in the league for the next 2 or even 3 years. BITFU baby, BITFU. Would much rather draft 1 2 or 3 than 7. Do I want to trade Hart, as he is the first quasi normal goalie in decades, no. Is it good asset management at this moment in time, yes. Provided the return has excellent value. I just hope Danny B saves some magic to get rid of Hayes, Atkinson, etc.
