FD19372
The Flyers select Evor Zavragin, G, in the 3rd Round of the 2023 NHL Draft with the 87th pick. Edited June 29, 2023 by pilldoc
jammer2
Seen his name on the list of top European Goalies for the draft. Seems like another smart move to stock up on Goalie prospects. Besides Errson and Fedetov, this seems to be an organizational weak point. Will be even more so if the rumored Hart trade comes to pass. Using the #3+4 picks in this draft can even be interpreted as a precursor to a Hart trade.
pilldoc
87. Egor Zavragin, G, KHANTY-MANSIYSK JR. (RUSSIA-JR.) August 23, 2005 | 6′ 2″ | 183 pounds Analysis: Zavragin is an intelligent goalie with decent size. He tracks the puck well, shows good aggressiveness in net and competes well. He’s been the top goalie for the 2005-born age group in Russia for several years. My one question with him is about his quickness, and whether he’s a legit NHL athlete. GrittyForever
One goalie in a draft is just good smart drafting. Two goalies in the same draft makes me think they have plans to move out some or all of the current ones at some point.

It would be like saying they have Wentz, why draft Hurts?

Actually no...its not unusual. I've been watching the draft since I was a kid. This is the 17th time the Flyers have drafted at least 2 goalies in Entry Drafts: 72-2 74-2 77-4 78-2 82-2 88-3 90-2 91-3 93-2 98-2 01-2 03-2 06-2 08-2 09-2 15-3 Has not happened a lot of late, but for decades its been a thing. Basically throwing spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks.

I expect them to bury and/or buy out Petersen. Fedotov is...??? Thing being they need some warm bodies in net!

If Hart gets traded and Fedetov comes over (I know, both BIG ifs), I fully expect a really fun open competition at TC.
