Is it choke time?

Jets have had a mediocre 2nd half. With the Kings starting to play their typical, "oh it's time to start playing to sneak into the playoffs" game and the Wild, with Dubnyk , on fire, the Jets are feeling the heat. And then to see a game where the Jets had a great 3rd period comeback be brushed aside by B.Jackman's "dump in goal", I as a Jet Fan are starting to feel the, "oh no, here we go" feeling.

Tonight's game against the Panthers is HUGE. First off, everyone knows that Pavlec is not the answer, if the team is forced to turn to him, all is lost.....SO...having Hutch rebound from his worst loss as a pro in the Jet's last game...that is HUGE. They need a big performance from Hutch tonight, to dispel the choke stuff.

HUGE game tonight. They have to stay calm and focused, however. It's not the time to panic. They get Little back, which will help their faceoffs (terrible vs the Blues) and presumably their possession numbers.

This means, in turn, they can get their forecheck going and lay the body on that young Panthers team. You control your own destiny boys. Make it happen.

Well, tell you what...if the Jets DO get into the post season, they will have earned it.

Pretty rough looking schedule for them the rest of the way.

Only TWO teams on their remaining schedule is are not playoff contenders: Edmonton and Colorado....although the Avs will surely play like they are in a playoff race.

These guys have a strong leadership group,

It's true. Ladd leads by example. The guy loves to hit and plays a "big" game. Sometimes this means he takes penalties (funny how the team identity takes after the captain, lol).

And Little. And Wheeler. And Stuart. If the Flyers had any one of those guys they'd be in good shape probably.

I hope so. The Sharks need to pass them, the Kings and Calgary and Vancouver. Right now, we are 5 points out  :(.

Assuming we need around 9-3-1 to squeak into the playoffs

Tonight's game will go a long way toward determining that: 4 points on the line. Expect the phone booth to be loud and raucous.

Splitting on the Florida circuit was big. Although giving up a late goal against the Panthers was, a little dagger. A win against the Bolts was big and then starting the home stand with a win against the Sharks was even bigger. Pavs finally looked comfortable again.

Yes, the Jets must take confidence from those two games. They were all over the Sharks from the puck drop. When they forecheck and hit like  that they can beat anyone. It's gonna be a nail biter. Go with Pavs again until he loses?

Hopefully Little can get back soon. They're going to need him down the stretch. Buff looks like he's ready to go - prolly coulda played last night if he had to.

If they get in, they stand to have a very healthy team going into the playoffs!
