pilldoc
With the draft officially over and FA to start in a few days I figured now was a good time to start a new thread involving the Phantoms and other Flyer prospects both old and new.

OccamsRazor
http://flyzette.com/2016/06/30/myers-will-miss-development-camp-after-surgery/ When the Flyers unveiled their roster for next week’s development camp, one glaring omission among the list of 34 prospects was Philippe Myers. It turns out that Myers underwent surgery on his groin last week, according to a source affiliated with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, his team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He “will be O.K.” for the season, but won’t be making the trip for development camp. No timetable for recovery was provided. On May 29, Myers was involved in a late knee-on-knee collision in the Memorial Cup in what turned out to be the final game of the season. He finished with a career-high 45 points on 17 goals and 28 assists. He was a plus-52 in 63 games. The defenseman tacked on 14 points in 20 playoff games en route to a QMJHL title, as well. It’s a disappointment to see Myers miss out on the week of on-ice workouts and the always entertaining Trial on the Isle down in Stone Harbor. That being said, the 19-year-old remains a rising prospect on the blueline after signing an entry-level deal back in September.

This kid, who is scheduled for the Phantoms next season, barring injuries to the 2 incumbents or Stolarz being jumped over. This kid was on FIRE during his 3 year tenure at Yale. He finished 9th on the ALL TIME NCAA list, with a career Goals Against Average of 1.88...other very nice stats.....50 career wins, and even more impressive a WHOPPING 15 career shut-outs Not sure how good the league/division etc in regards to Yale, but those numbers really stand out. Sammy boy with a very informative article on Lyons and the Flyers goal situation prospect wise. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/flyers/20160709_Alex_Lyon_is_just_one_of_promising_young_Flyers_goalies.html I don't recall a time when we had SO many quality tenders in the org. Lyon seems like a MAJOR coup for Hexy, apparently at least 12 teams were in on this. This Marsden kid, also from the NCAA posted solid stats....we all know about Stolarz and how he got better as the year wore on, his AHL all star game invite. Then you have Carter Hart from the WHL's Everett Silvertips org, many scouts and experts think he may have been the biggest steal in all the draft. Of course, that is not even counting the huge Euro goalie Fedetov, all 6 foot 6 inches of him....AND Felix Sandstrom and the Tomak kid are highly thought of also. Basically, you just throw spaghetti at the wall and see if it sticks at this point. Damn, even Reading in the ECHL will be stocked with wicked goalies.....question...are we still affiliated with Reading in the AHL....think so but not sure. Very nice moves by Hexy to build things up in what is usually a weak spot in the org....now thanks to Hexy, it is a strength. For the first time in a long time, a few years from now, some of these goalies will be used for trade bait,. picks coming back I'm guessing. Lyon's has leap frogged Stolarz on the goalie prospect list on hockey's future... #1 Lyons #2 Stolarz #3 Merrick Madsen #4 Felix Sandstrom #5 Carter Hart #6 Matej Tomek #7 Ivan Fedotov An embarrassment of riches now it seems. WOW....hard to imagine the 1st goalie selected in a deep draft is only #5 on our orgs list (Carter Hart)....speaks volumes about the folks in front of him in my books. I think a lot has to do with there being some damn good more proven talent ahead of him as we speak and the fact that Carter is just 17 so there is still a lot to learn with him. And at the end of the day none of those ranking s mean diddly poo they have to go out and prove it. All of them. It's just good to see them in the stables. Some real thoroughbreds up in there!!!!
