LV Phantoms and other Flyers Prospect discussions 2018-2019

Sorry - just giving an update for those unable to get to a Phantoms game.  Not a critique, just an observation.  A little defensive, no?

BTW - a bomb exploded a block away from  the arena as the game ended.  Three killed. No connection to the game or terrorism.

Well he is coming off surgery with no camp and preseason to get back in game shape give the kid and chance to get use to the smaller ice too.

No just informing you in case you didn't know.

Kid will take time just adjust.

And he could already be at the highest he is ever going to be at.

The Flyers have a lot of kids who will be competing for only a few spots.

A good problem to have.

TSN's breakdown of the top 10 pipelines in the NHL.

Flyers ranked 4th (Buffalo #1).

The Flyers talk starts around the 24:00 mark (though really, it's just a Carter Hart special lol).

It is a small part of it but i like the maturity it showed by he reaching out and talking to others about his superstition of being the last guy off the ice and stopping doing that and putting that behind him.

A really great sign that a kid can do that, we know how hockey players are with their superstitions.

And as far as the rankings goes it skews it a bit because they don't really touch on and compare all the young talent on the NHL clubs already or just making it and the guys in the AHL it seems to talk more about the guys who haven't come close yet.

So i take it all with a grain of salt. Hey i'll take the ranking. Show me a Cup in the next 5 years or it don't even matter!

Stolarz cleared waivers.  Carter Hart should get his first NHL pro start tonight.

Nice interview with Hart. Good to see some smiles and a great perspective.

Keep it up.

Lol I guess that means when we fire Lappy, we do NOT promote the guy in LHV.

Looking at that lineup, I see a lot of future middle to bottom six players. There’s no high end talent - it’s all in the NHL, NCAA, CHL or overseas.

Not sure why Hart didn't get the start last night it isn't like it was his fault his team got shoutout 7-0.

At least they won 5-4 in OT. Stolie gives up 4 goals on 31 shots.

Ruby wins it in OT.

Other goals by Bardreau, Brennan, Kase and Carey.

I found this translated interview with Vorobyev posted on HF Boards. Very interesting insight into him as a player and the Phantoms / Flyers organization on how they handle incoming players. Wisconsin hockey fan - the Flyers got a steal in getting Wyatt Kalynuk in the 7th round in 2017. Defenseman that has some special skating and passing skills. He is fantastic on the power play and as a distributor - controls play while on the ice. Has a nice hard wrist shot from the point that is almost always on net. Through six games he has 4 goals and 5 assists for the Badgers. Really fun player to watch. He still needs to improve his strength but he is a difference maker with the puck. At wor

Welcome back to being one of the Flyers top prospects German Rubtsov...after a couple of less than encouraging seasons (though also injury riddled) he really seems to be developing into the guy Hextall drafted should.

I couldn’t believe of how good a skater he is when I saw him in Portland. Does everything well. My excitement level went from 5 to 8.

Other than Ghost...the entire Flyers defence may well end up being Hextall draft picks/UFA juniors by the time it's all said and done.
