I wrote up the game preview, @MNSOTA will be writing the post-gamer.  This should be a team the Wild can match up against fairly well.  I think Montreal has more speed than the Wild, but that's true of probably every team in the league these days.  Will the younger players get more ice time and opportunity with the veterans struggling so much?  I think we're getting closer to some kind of crossroads on that subject especially as the losses continue to pile up.  Stalock gets the start...so we'll see if that gets the club to play with a little more fire.  Leipold and Guerin will be at the game again..enjoy and discuss.

If they can play the way they did the first period in Toronto, things should go well. Everybody complains about how boring the Neutral Zone Trap is, but what's more important right now? A win or playing entertaining hockey?

They need to stop thinking they can run-and-gun with other teams. That's what happened in the second period in Toronto and they got lit up like a Christmas tree. And they don't have the offensive fire power to overcome more than a one goal deficit.

Keep It Simple, Stupid(s)...

Best for this team would be to lose, a lot. Winning here and there only makes Leipold think things will work out with this roster. Which obviously won't happen.

Which is better: hanging on a loose rope for years or to suffer enormously for a while.

I'm starting to lean on to a "happy for a win at least once and a while" attitude. Life is short and who knows, maybe the Wild won't win the Cup in 30 years, no matter what they do. Maybe no honey filled holy Graal ever during my lifetime, so I'm tempted with a tiny sip now and then. I just can't face losing games, although I know that would be the logical thing to do in this situation.

I’m beginning to think the best thing the wild could do, for long term success, would be.
#1 rotate goalies until a clear and undeniable #1 goalie emerges.
#2 rotate 3 defensive pairings, regardless of pp or pk. Let the younger guys get experience.
#3 rotate 4 forward lines, regardless of situation. No pp or pk specialist.

I would agree.  If we're going to be bad, which seems likely, we might as well be as bad as we can be.

By the way...Donato is playing center tonight and Rask is out with a lower body injury according to Russo.

Another year the Wild literally has millions on IR. I hope anyone within the organization won't try to feed that as an excuse.

So...here I am with Dish Network and have no local broadcast. Naturally my Montreal channel via Centre Ice will be dark because they assume I have a "local" feed. This sucks.

Can anyone provide (at game time) a link to a live stream? If not...I'll be "forced" to go to a bar.😉

Thanks in advance.

We broke down and got YouTube TV and had to get the newer 2nd Gen AmazonFire TV Stick. Works great, however I have no sound on anything on YouTubeTV tonight. Sound on general TV works just fine.

I see the Wild are back to the pass, stop, pass, stop, pass, stop power play...

I don't know, I felt like they really forced Montreal to move their feet. Mind you, I was happy with the shorthanded rushes the other way, but I'll take that power play over what we have seen in recent years.
