I'm ashamed that a good hockey guy like Dave King was actually one of the scumbags that buried things.
Agreed. Stains his whole career in hockey, which is like his entire adult life.

This is important context and also a matter of public record, in case people are wondering. It's not necessarily well known outside of Canada.
I mean let's be honest with ourselves here, especially those of us who played junior hockey. Boys will be boys and all but the culture is *rife* with behavior that crosses moral and legal lines and has been for a long time. This is a moment of reckoning, both for these young men and for Hockey Canada.

Risto should be the first to go. There will never be a better chance to get rid of him.

FWIW my keeper poolie friends love Drysdale. One of them, the one who has done some scouting services work, and who has won the pool most often, well he drafted Drysdale, of course. This comforts me greatly.

wow Laughton -> Konecny shorthanded working the 2 on 1 again... 4 for TK now 9 for the Flyers tied for the league lead.
those 2 on a rush read each other so well. pretty tight 1st not a ton of chances either way but the Flyers get one on the PK...nice!
Imagine being an NHL coach and thinking that a guy like TK should not be on the PK?!
And yet, that's what previous Flyer coaches, including Hakstol I think, thought. Amazeballs.

Well that was one slopfest by both teams, but first game so they get a pass. Finland had zero going all game 5 on 5, expect better from them. Bonk looked like he was trying to mishandle the puck, though he certainly wasn't the only one. Canada will have to get a lot better than that to play with the big boys this year.

Just a question as Bedard came very close to hitting the goalie in the face with his stick.
I assume the goal won’t count if he hits the goalie’s head, as it would be high sticking? It's a bloody good question. He was quite close.

Ersson isn't going to like his save percentage, but it's not all on him. Outside of the Sprong goal, which was a very pretty play on the part of Detroit where nothing could really be done, the Flyers defensive coverage has been very lackadaisical.

Still, 5-1 after one is like the second worst lead in hockey, so there's hope aplenty.

Jim Jackson 6 seconds before the Wings' 5th goal" "Ristolainen slow to react"
I kid you not.

a disgustingly low hockey IQ
He probably couldn't spell IQ if you spotted him an "I" and a "Q"
And a "Q" is worth like 10 points in Scrabble, so naturally RR would **** that up somehow.

You mean like sleeping with Brindy's wife? Or was it the other way around?
Which red-blooded men among us can claim to be pure as the driven snow on these matters? Not me, but in fairness to me, sheep have been the most transgressed, ahem.
