  1. Wow. Kap slowly to the bench. Hope it was just the wind knocked out of him. Suter crosschecked him.
  2. Big kill, but Dallas still has the zone, and the pressure. Minnesota needs to play with the puck more. They are just asking for Dallas to put one past Gus if they keep playing in this way.
  3. Damn. Pressure leading to the Wild taking a penalty. This PP could be the game decider here. Dallas scores, they may leave tonight with the series lead. Wild kill it, they may build up enough to grab the lead themselves late. Let's go boys!
  4. Probably easier said than done, but I'd like to see Minnesota skate the puck out of their zone a bit more. Seems like they are just flicking it out now, and it is resulting in either MORE sustained Dallas pressure, or icing. Someone needs to take the calm road and skate it right down the Stars' collective throats to break their flow.
  5. As long as Faber doesn't turn pucks over like Fiala turning over brats on a grill, I am happy with the trade Minnesota made!
  6. Before the puck dropped, the analysts were saying the Wild's one big advantage over Dallas was the raw physicality they can bring. At first, I thought that was more cliche talk....but, you know, Minnesota really is living up to that.
  7. Hmmm.....seems Dumba is getting the big "booos" now every time he touches the puck. I wonder if the Dallas players will buy into that and try to make Dumba a focus of their ire all series. If that happens, then Dumba may have FINALLY found a way to contribute regularly to this team by playing agitator without doing anything else in the series. I would think the Dallas coaching staff and players would be smarter than that, but, one can always hope they aren't. I nominate Dumba for the Brad Marchand Award for Most Bristly Player on the Ice!!
  8. Working FOR the Wild, and hopefully, getting the Game 2 start no matter how this one ends up, is Gustavsson being calm, cool, and collected through all this. Guy isn't fighting the puck, isn't getting himself grossly out of position due to nerves or anything else, and still coming up with big saves as if he's done this a BUNCH of times before. That is the kind of goaltending this team hasn't seen in just about all its existence. Sometimes he screws up and lets one in that he would probably tell you himself he should have stopped, but I see no fear, quit, or sloppiness to his game. If the Wild as a team can't take cues from their 24 yr old netminder, then I dunno what to say about that...
  9. Hate to say it, but Reaves, Foligno, or Middleton may have to be called upon to do some enforcing as the Stars now probably feel they are entitled to some extra shots on Wild players....particularly Dumba, but possibly Kap or Boldy.
  10. WTF is going on over there? So, now since Dumba hit Pavelski into 2024, Marchment is allowed to surf board him? GTFO...
  11. Zuccarello after seeing the Steel goal: "Where can I order one of those fancy goal thingies? I'll even pay for shipping...."
  12. This game has everything so far.... Rough play, big saves, quick PP strikes, monster hits, and even errant horns!
  13. I am not gonna honestly celebrate a good player like Pavelski being injured, but if you are the Minnesota Wild, you pick WHATEVER momentum and swagger from what just happened, and get this game tied. If it were the other way around, I am sure the Stars wouldn't think twice about trying to score on a Wild team that lost one of their leaders to a monster hit.
  14. Now the refs can earn their pay as they are gonna have to keep an eye on things. The slow simmer just turned into a bit of a boil, and things could overflow quicker than you can say "FU Stars for leaving Minnesota!"
  15. 4 on 4...best outcome Wild could have hoped for. And a Dallas player ended up with a 10 for starting that scrum. Hey, not gonna complain here!
  16. Working against Minnesota here is the fact that the end result (a hurt Pavelski), may influence the severity of the call. Worst case, maybe a late hit, two minutes interference. Anything else, I think would be overkill against Dumba. It was NOT a head shot..
  17. Shoulder to shoulder hit...quite clean....BUT, a tad late maybe? Hope the refs don't see it that way...
  18. Back to the PP for Minnesota. And Sneaky Suter tried getting the UnJohnny to take a retaliatory penalty. Good on Gaudreau not biting on that.
