This one is gonna be a barn burner. I didn't even think the Habs were going to make the playoffs, and yes they stumbled at the end but I think they find their step. The return of Karlsson is a big boost for the Sens and Anderson is playing some stellar goal but they just don't possess enough offense to get them out of the first round. Montreal in 7.
I was originally leaning towards the Sharks. Both teams finished flat capped off by each losing their last two games. Vancouver has 13 players with double digit points while SJ has 11. The amazing thing though, is those same 13 players also add up to 369 pim, while San Jose's 11 sat for 213 minutes. I think The Canucks are gonna win in 5 playing some dirty nasty hockey.
The Wings are my second team but this is going to be ugly. Jimmy Howard is gonna stand on his head and win a couple but Anaheim is just too mean and Abdelkader, Kronwall and Tootoo are all the tough Detroit has. Anaheim in 6.
The Caps have been playing some very good hockey down the stretch ,11-2 in April. The Rangers went 10-4 in the same time span. So this will be an interesting series. Even though the Caps are the higher seeded team here, I think they'll surprise the Rangers in 6.
I'm glad the Flyers are giving him a look. I think the new rule is he can play 5 games before being sent back to Junior without burning a year on his contract. That isn't a very long audition. Obviously, if he plays well he will stay. If Homerr sends him back to Junior, who fills his roster spot?? Briere
Well just getting an invite to camp is an amazing testament to the scouting staff. There was and are still a lot of folks out there that were VERY unhappy with him being selected when he was.
There's a certain awesome stink to a local hockey rink isn't there. The pro rinks just smell cold, but that's fine too. It means you're at a game dammit.
Is the buyout really legal? The players signed a contract in good faith. They can just have that torn in two? See ya Later? Don't get me wrong, if a guy isn't playing up to par and he's got a ridiculous contract then being able to cut him is an absolute gift. But aren't the people who signed him supposed to be held accountable for a ridiculous contract?
Yeah, I thought the plan was to put Voracek on the 1st line. Just read that Meszaros is waiting on the doctors to give him the go ahead to play. I thought Gus was out with an injury. Oh well there's always Bruno Gervais. I agree with Jack, I think the blushin russian is 3rd line material. Welcome back hockey!
I've been fine tuning my procrastination skills. Eagles? Awful. Sixers? I used to be a fan back in the 80's but I can't do that any more. Can't watch the Phantoms and they aren't playing that great anyway. Work and Skyrim. Lots of Skyrim.
Awesome, except I do hate Crosby. I also don't wish him good health. I wish he would get what's coming to him. If he's like this on the ice it's highly possible that he's a total d 1 c k off of it. I do think the NHL is and was (as witnessed during his concussion recovery) better w/o him. Sorry Polaris, love your posts, hate your player.
How about the "It's very complicated and way too much for the average Joe to understand" comment. What a ****. All us average joes that ultimately provide you with virtually everything are down right dumb! I like the Wings a little less today.
I'm so happy he re-signed. He's turning into one of my favorite players. He's a character guy. I'm all about the logo on the front not the name on the back thing, but it's still cool to have some individual identities to personalize a team. Giroux is the fire, Pronger would have been our monster and Harts is our Jester. He just seems like a cool guy. I appreciate his loyalty and determination. All that stuff goes a long way in my book.
Dubinsky goes to hockey pergatory. Never liked you Brandon. So glad you're in the west now. You cheap shot, cry baby POS. Although now I hate the Rags a little less. BRING BACK AVERY!
I don't care what anybody says, giving the C to Weber is a slap in the face to the conditioned (read comfortable with Philly and the media) players currently on the team. Weber can grow into his position. The C can either go to Kimmo or Briere, the more tenured players, with one of those two and Roo getting the A. If that doesn't happen then the same three A's as last year. And for crying out loud....keep Voracek.
