  1. I'm not putting stock in any rumors, however, I honestly think they will make a trade. It's the "Flyers way".
  2. I'm not even sure he pulled him aside. Hell, the beat reporters all heard it, IIRC. So it wasn't that private of a conversation. Multi-year deals, NMC/NTC clauses all around. I'll be honest, Rad...if it's not internal/personal player "mojo", I'm not sure how you motivate them in that situation.
  3. I've heard monkeys do a better job of skating in 5 on 5 situations.
  4. It's nuts he's in the lineup at all, but this team has a LOT more problems than his 6 shifts(or whatever the hell it was) last night.
  5. I'm certainly not defending Mr Snider, but Alberts played 1 season with the Flyers...5 years ago. Just because Mr Snider may have been in the locker room a lot back then(NOT condoning it!), doesn't mean he is now. The man is 80 years old. There's a lot of walking between the owners box and the locker room.
  6. Just to make you all laugh...several of the Flyers "guys" in the studio, and on the broadcast were commenting on how WELL Meszaros was playing. I guess they got the Flyers talking points memo, and are trying to help them trade him!
  7. FWIW: 1.96 GAA, .939 SV%...in his first 10 games in Philly. I'll take that.
  8. Hello, Terry Murray. He was fird in LA for being TOO defensive minded. If you can believe that. \
  9. That's like asking. "who's the prettiest ugly chick?"
  10. I think fighting will not be "outlawed", as in, it won't be specifically banned in the rule book. Too many fans, purists, old schoolers would revolt. Rather, they will legislate it out of the game by making it too costly to do on a regular basis. Game misconduct(s), suspensions, coaches suspended etc.... The league is already well down that path with the grandfathered visor law/fighting with a visor/instigation with a visor stuff.
  11. I don't remember many people on this board saying it would solve things. In fact, most knowledgeable Flyers fans didn't like the signing or the contract. You are either trying to rewrite history, or simply trolling. I vote for number 2.
  12. Miller is a UFA after this season. He could bring a lot at the deadline; he could also be dumped by Buffalo if there isn't a ton of interest in him. Dumped as in, we'll take whatever we can get, rather than lose him for nothing.
  13. @King Knut I feel the same way. And mentioned it in the shoutbox the other day. Less than thrilling UFA signings(not bad players, just not great contracts). Bad preseason, yeah it's preseason, but it was pretty pathetic hockey at times. Major questions in goal...again. Even though I'm glad Bryz is HISTORY. Bottom line for me..I'm hoping for great season, but expecting this team to struggle to make the playoffs.
  14. "ignore this"..testing something
  15. I've heard all the cliche's about this topic, and not just as it relates to the Flyers. "They are professionals, they should be ready to play", "Players play, coaches coach". Then I've heard coaches say, "It's our job to prepare the team. We need to be better prepared, etc" In the Flyers case, it's been a continuing issue for several years. Because of that, I think this issue falls on the coaching staff. Whatever the true reason(s) are, if the same thing happens over/over/over, and coaches don't correct it, that's on them.
  16. Damn, that's funny as hell right there.
  17. Well, I am now 100% convinced that Timmy P is a member here, under a pen-name. This is from today's article. http://www.csnphilly.com/hockey-philadelphia-flyers/rosehill-defends-clarkson-says-codes-changing And the code? “Yeah, I know the code,” Rosehill said. “The code is changing. The rules are different. I know coaches recently say, ‘go after their skill.’ That is the mentality and that will keep [happening] because if two tough guys fight each other, what does that matter? There are different schools of thought.”
  18. I was typing that exact thing up, JR. Enforcers only fighting enforcers does nothing to "ENFORCE" the game. If some is running Giroux--either hammer the offending player, or run the other team's best player. Don't stage a fight after a faceoff, and have Jay Rosehill vs John Scott. For the record..I love fighting, I am in favor of it staying in the game. I just don't get the "code" talk in today's game. I think it used to be that way. But as the game as evolved, I think players are more "specialized" to a point, and the code isn't as valid.
  19. I'm pretty much any village's idiot. When not doing that, I'm usually drunk/hungover or somewhere in between; but even I was able to figure out what @Polaris922 was getting at .
