  1. Rumor: Islanders and Blues Discussing Huge Trade Rumor: Islanders and Blues Discussing Huge Trade - NHL Rumors - NHLTradeRumors.Me
  2. We knew that Semyon Varlamov wouldn’t win the Vezina Trophy. The New York Islanders shot-stopper had a huge season but didn’t finish as one of the three favorites for top goalie honors. Today, Marc-Andre Fleury was revealed as the winner. The firs-time he’s won the award in his career. But with the winner being named we also find out how the vote went. How far out was Semyon Varlamov from winning it or even the top three? Turns out he wasn’t even close. The only thing Varlamov didn’t have over the field was the same number of wins. The top three for the Vezina finished top three in wins on the season while Varlamov was tenth in wins with 19 in 35 starts. And that’s absurd. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, a team ‘stat’ such as wins shouldn’t be used in an individual award. Just consider this, Varlamov “lost” more games than the others but was better at stopping the puck. He was the better goalie but wasn’t recognized as such in the better goalie award. Wild.
  3. It,s simple if a player goes down and a team wants to spend the cash to make the playoffs, once the injured player comes back it,s up to the team to play one of them or sit others to play within the cap
  4. 2nd tampa goal they had 7 players on the ice and the refs did not care?
  5. If thats the case we should get to add 2, 6 million dollars players to our team, ther,s a reason why tampa bay won it last year and a fair bet would be this year too. There stacked and abusing the nhl rules and this should be changed in the off season.
  6. Ya i am but it still is true and should not be allowed the nhl needs to change this ,they should just give them the cup ,it,s a joke.
  7. Tampa bay $18 million over the cap ya this is fair, wow. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/video/trotz-lightnings-salary-cap-loophole-im-not-capologist/
  8. I cant see another reason why,his numbers are better then the rest except for wins which is really a team stat.
  9. Today, the NHL announced that the three finalists for the Vezina Trophy. None were New York Islanders goalie Semyon Varlamov. And that’s absolutely ridiculous. Varlamov not only deserved to be a finalist but to win the award outright. \ SV% GAA SO GSAA Vasilevskiy 6 8 4 3 Grubauer 8 2 1 23 Fleury 3 3 3 6 Varlamov 2 4 1 2
  10. In Ilya Sorokin we trust. The new SoroKing of New York was unbelievable tonight, making 48 saves on 50 shots. The Isles skaters... well, it wasn’t their best night tonight, but they made the most of their 28 shots on goal, climbing back into the game after going down 1-0 and then 2-1. https://www.nhl.com/islanders/video/nhl-tonight-islanders-vs-penguin/t-277437420/c-8458146 https://twitter.com/i/status/1396976244294627329
  11. Well you wiuld have to throw in half the team, and the isles would still lose that trade.
  12. For the fourth time this season Semyon Varlamov has a shutout for the New York Islanders against the New York Rangers. It’s his seventh shutout of the season now. He may not have been on the ballot for the Vezina at the start of the season, but it’s impossible to ignore him now. His effort not only pad his stats which sit at 0.931SV% and 1.99GAA on the year, but his team now has earned a spot in the playoffs for the third straight season now. Something that the Isles haven’t been able to do for almost 20 years now.
  13. Should have Traded him a few years ago.
