    I will say this, it was in no way shape or form Bob's fault for that loss. He kept them in a game they had no right to be in with their play. Bryz is going through a rough stretch right now and it was probably a good thing not to pile on by putting him on the ice with no help. This is the time of year I prefer bryz to be struggling, not at the end of the season and rolling into playoffs.

    Substitute the word legal for decent and you hit the nail on the head. When Shelley is on the ice, whoever is stuck with him is thrown completely off their game because they have to go completely defensive and wait for when, not if Shelley is out of position. I really think that his heart is in the game but that his body just can't keep up anymore.

    It was a careless shot as much as anything...he was not even looking back when he swung and Folgiono has a tendency to Carcillo-ize to boot. Wow, I just realized that I am defending Crosby.........what the hell is this world coming too........

    ......I think it was the right call being a 2 minute minor (and I hate the whining bitch). They were going back and forth and it was more interference than elbowing. The shot Devreax laid on the panther guy the other night was a textbook suspendable elbow.

    Another young defenseman who was looking good with the Flyers was Dmitri Tertyshny . He was killed in a freak boating accident back in the late 90's.

    Against the canadians he looked absolutely solid. He doesn't seem to get nervous with the puck and the only penalty he took was a slashing call. The best thing about his play is that you never notice him on the ice unless you are looking for him. He seems to have a knack for being in the right position even if he is not the fastest player on the ice. With Lilja mercifully down with a high ankle sprain, I hope we get a much longer look at him.

    Why was Schenn loaned and not sent down for a conditioning assignment? Does that have something to do with cap reasons?

    When a player goes through re entry waivers, if they are picked up, that team gets the whole salary not half of it. That is punishing more players than teams who just leave players to languish in the minors as opposed to being saddled with half the salary cap hit. Nobody thought that one through very well on the last CBA.

    What it does not address is who is going to be the back up goalie. The odds are good that Leighton would not make it through waivers leaving the flyers on the hook for 1/2 his salary (cap wise). I do like the sound of a real defense guy who could actually log some minutes as the third pairing d but we are still left shopping for a b/u goalie....

    If he can continue to stay away from the whining and crying to the officials( which he has gotten better at last season), he will get a lot more respect. I will go a step further and say if he can get Kennedy and Malkin to lay off of the diving, well, that would be a miracle but would make his smugness more tolerable. No matter what, I will not "like" him, but at least I would like to be able to respect him.

    Notice how he said.... “I haven’t talked with one single person from RDS,” “I don’t know where they came up with that. I haven’t said anything or asked for anything.” He was very specific about who he did NOT talk to anyhow.........

    I don't think being called up with one day's notice and put on a line with Lilja is going to give anyone a chance at fair assessment. A lot of mistakes all over the ice by all of the defense last night . If you were to pull one or the other up and give them some time partnering with Pronger or Kimmo, you will see different/better results. I don't want to judge them on last nights debacle of a game.

    The whole thing is they were getting close to averaging 10 minutes out of the 4th liners when shelley is not in.
