  1. He'll do for the rebuild...but yeah he is a good goalie but not a guy you build a Cup around! WOW 4-4!!!

  4. The force is strong with this one...
  5. It sadly just feels like it is too little too late. Phantoms 6 points outside the last playoff spot with 2 games in game but they can't score or stop the puck. This Carter Hart fiasco has thrown a monkey wrench in both teams plan and this Cal Petersen and no other goalie help acquisition didn't help much in all of this. Danny Jones dropped the ball in getting a proper backup for Ersson and this pisses me off because they already knew they couldn't count on Sandstrom. Because well they haven't even played him the last couple years and he is 27 that is just bad planning in my mind and it will maybe cost the Phantoms and Flyers a chance at the playoffs. And i would find solace in it all if they were getting a good draft pick but damn the fugged that up too!!!
  6. Alexei Kolosov, the Philadelphia Flyers' 2021 draft pick, is expected to join the team soon. His next step is uncertain due to a lot of underlying reasons. If he makes it to Philadelphia, Kolosov could play for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL) while eyeing an NHL spot, amidst the Flyers' need for goaltending depth. Philadelphia Flyers 2021 third-round draft pick, goaltender Alexei Kolosov, 22, has been on Flyers’ fans radar the entire KHL season, and especially as of late with his Russian club’s campaign coming to an end five days ago. Kolosov and Dinamo Minsk were eliminated from the KHL playoffs when they lost lost to No. 1 seed Dynamo Moscow. Kolosov kept his club afloat in a heavily outmatched series, with a 2-4-0 record, a 2.21 goals against average and a .925 save percentage, both career bests in the postseason. As that was nearly a week ago, since then Flyers’ fans have been anxiously waiting to see what’s next for the 22-year-old netminder. Philadelphia’s hockey faithful have a right to be concerned about Kolosov and the organization’s other Russian prospects, Matvei Michkov and Yegor Zavargin as to when (or if) they could come to America. This quandary is partly due to political issues and the transfer of players’ rights from the KHL to the NHL. Not to mention the “Russian ban” rumours in December 2023, as I noted in a previous article. The Russian Hockey Federation is also pushing for a minimum of 4 to 5-year careers in the KHL for players before considering going elsewhere. That of course, sparked rumours that have since died down but were hot around the holidays. Kolosov does not fall under these restrictions provided he is on loan, and assuming Minsk allows him to disembark, that is all that stands in the way on that side of him playing in America. Kolosov is already under contract with the Flyers, having signed his entry-level contract on July 8. However, 11 days later, he was loaned back to Minsk, finishing what appears to be his last season there. Dinamo Minsk reportedly had sent a qualifying offer and he said that he would be returning to the KHL for another year before putting pen to paper with the Flyers. KHL Career Stats: During his four seasons in the KHL, Kolosov posted a .909 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against-average with a 49-56-10 record in 120 games. When comparing other Dinamo Minsk goaltenders all-time, Kolosov ranks second in games played, first in wins, sixth in shutouts (6) and fifth in save percentage. In the 2023-24 season, he played a career-high 47 games, with four shutouts and 22 wins. He finished the year with a .907 Sv% and a 2.39 GAA. With those numbers, there is no reason he could not cement a spot on a depleted Phantoms roster. When, What To Expect From Alexei Kolosov In Philadelphia: If everything goes according to plan, the Belarusian could arrive in Philadelphia within the next week or two if his travel arrangements and visa (P-1A) are all sorted out. Contact has never been an issue for the Flyers’ brass and Kolosov, keeping in touch regularly with the player and his agent Aljoša Pilko. “The Philadelphia Flyers are in constant contact with my agent,” Kolosov said in an interview for Hockey.by. “We talked recently and said that they were watching all my games and were waiting for me.” Keith Jones, Flyers’ President of Hockey Operations said some visa things have to be clarified and sorted, but there is a chance Kolosov comes over in the next few weeks. “There is a chance with Kolosov, for sure,” Keith Jones said on Snow The Goalie Podcast. “I think there will be some visa stuff that has to get clarified but that’s the plan. Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks, he will arrive. I expect the plan is to send him down to the American Hockey League.” The best-case scenario for the young netminder is to make it to Philadelphia as soon as possible, whether he plays or not, and get comfortable in new surroundings. Kolosov is free to join the organization at any time, the Flyers hold his NHL rights in this case. Now, this does not mean he will be an NHL starting goaltender right out of the gate although that’s not to say he can’t be. As of now it will still be Samuel Ersson’s net until further notice. In saying that, it is likely Kolosov will join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League either for the rest of the AHL season or to begin the 2024-25 campaign. As for when could fans see Kolosov in the orange and black, he would be will likely spend next season with the Phantoms, as mentioned, while possibly getting a few looks at the NHL level throughout the year. Given the organizational struggles between the pipes in Philadelphia and Allentown, the latter is the best course of action for Kolosov. With Cal Petersen man-ing the net in Allentown currently, the Phantoms could use the additional support between the pipes. It’s unclear what the Flyers’ plans will be if Kolosov finds himself on a plane, but given the timetable, he could be in Lehigh Valley near the end of March, which leaves roughly six games unless he is en route by the end of the week. However, it is worth noting that until Kolosov touches American soil, there is still a lot unknown and up in the air.
  7. So guess time will tell if this is even remotely true or just another lie....
  8. Not sure how Flyers wouldn't have a say so in this???? https://matchtv.ru/hockey/matchtvnews_NI2033916_Ak_Bars_khochet_podpisat_kanadskogo_vratara_Filadelfii_Kharta The Kazan hockey club Ak Bars is ready to make an offer to Canadian goalkeeper Carter Hart to replace Timur Bilyalov . Earlier, Match TV reported that Ak Bars will not make an offer to Bilyalov, who will most likely move to Avangard Omsk. The Kazan club has set its sights on the 25-year-old Hart, who was selected by Philadelphia in the second round of the draft, 48th overall, in 2016. In February, the goaltender's career in the NHL was put on pause due to a trial when five Canadian youth hockey players were accused of sexual assault. The players in question are: Hart, forwards Dillon Dube (Calgary) and Alex Formenton (Ambri-Piotta, Switzerland), as well as forward Michael MacLeod and defenseman Cal Foote (both New Jersey). — All five will most likely continue their careers in Russia, because they won’t even be accepted into European leagues. Ak Bars is the most active contender, they need Hart. Kazan would take the rest, but the limit of three foreign players interferes. The main point now is that hockey players must obtain judicial permission that they can leave North America. In this case, Hart will be able to sign a contract with Ak Bars, which needs a top goalkeeper. In terms of potential, this goalkeeper has a talent on the level of Ilya Sorokin,” a source close to the situation told Match TV. All four players' contracts with their NHL clubs expire on July 1. Hart won World Junior Championship gold (2018) and World Championship silver (2019), and played 227 NHL games for Philadelphia with a 90.6% save percentage.
  9. Do they sell Porsches in Russia? Asking for a friend....
  10. I would be nice if they would put Elliot Desnoyers back at LW seems to be an after thought with the experiment at center on the Phantoms. Can't say for sure but just judging by the lack of mention of him at all by anyone tells me it may be a failure there. I am holding out hope that Ciernik can rebound next season after struggling with injuries if he can he has some very good offensive skills and a very good shot. Alex Bump is also another up and coming sniper and will maybe need another year or two of college hockey before making the jump but whatever is best for his development is what i want.
  11. Is he planning on signing or headed back to school haven't heard anything on him? With Denver Barkey i would love to see him back in London next season and flipped to LW. He is a left hand shot and he could carve out a spot in the lineups with the Phantoms and Flyer with less talent standing in his way. Flyers really are in need of more talent on the left side and are stocked to the gill on the right.
  12. In time i sure hope Bonk and Barkey can help the abysmal Flyer power play it is down tight terrible. Sure can make it worse...
  13. Let's hope they give the kid the chance to develop the right way. Needs time to put more muscle on his 6-3 frame currently just 191.
  14. FLYERS SHOWCASE FIVE PROSPECTS IN THE NCAA FROZEN FOUR TOURNAMENT https://hwhockey.net/flyers-showcase-five-prospects-in-the-ncaa-frozen-four-tournament/
  15. I want whatever is best to help with the rebuild. If that is a better pick then so be it. But if playoff experience is the key thing then yeah sure make the playoffs but it feels like their lack of a plan for a backup is going to bite them in the ass if they even do make the playoffs...it will be one and done. This all after they already knew of Ersson running out of gas in last year's AHL playoff run vs the Canes farm team and they still didn't plan accordingly i guess they fell back on all their Cup winning team building experience and it will cost them.
  16. Yep what i said earlier they should have plucked Raanta off waivers to backup Ersson how they could have their sights on the playoffs with only one solid goalie is/was a huge mis step and well it could very well cost them the playoffs as a whole. Raanta's cap hit was only 1.5 mill very affordable but nope they said nah we good and well here they are...
  17. It's not NHL but it's a goalie fight we make exceptions...
  18. McD sure helped this guy hit 50. How often in the NHL do guys get their first 50 goal season at 31 really asking? Good for him. Before the Oiler he had never even had a 50 season much less goals. Who knew?
  19. Another gem from Ron Hextall....that whole year for him except TK. They traded their top 10 pick pick this past offseason and their best goalie from that draft got stolen from them for Russia.
  20. I just can't understand why they didn't grab Raanta off waivers when they had the chance!
  21. Stollie is a free agent at seasons end and i suggested bringing him back on a cheap deal.
