  1. I thought they said it was a coin toss between Mitchell and Kuba. Either way...it was a pretty lame all star attendee. Although the most lame one for the Wild still goes to Nick Johnson.
  2. I don't think they get too cute with those jerseys because the viewing angle is from such a distance they keep it simple. The result is mediocre crap. Sort of like the Wild's Stadium Series jerseys. They looked boring...
  3. Did the Wild 'Miss' in Drafting Matt Boldy? I give my thoughts on the selection of the Boston College winger, and other food for thought. Enjoy and discuss. I know this could be in the prospect thread but this is focused mostly on one player.
  4. Tough way to lose, up by one with less than a minute left. Grand Rapids' ties it and then they win in a shootout. Sam Anas got invited to the AHL All Star game along with Brennan Menell and Gerald Mayhew...
  5. Three 2nd Period Goals Lift Wild to 4-2 Win Over Detroit A pretty ugly game in a lot of ways, but they stepped up and did enough to get a win. We're lucky Detroit is that bad; otherwise this kind of effort wouldn't yield too many victories. The Wild's best line was the 4th line minus Koivu who looked slow as hell all night. We saw some octopus tonight, not sure why...but whatever. Its a win...not sure too many fans are that excited about it. All Star Break here we come! Full game recap, an extended Iowa Wild report and prospect news too.
  6. Someone can delete this thread...or move the other posts to @MNSOTA's thread.
  7. Yes, that's the hill right behind Handke school. It has always been a destination sledding spot. Its pretty damn steep, but the transition to a flat surface is pretty abrupt, kind of what you'd expect in a pit I guess.

Detroit is as bad as their record indicates. Since many of us wouldn't mind seeing the Wild lose, I'm not sure trap game is the right term for it. But I could see our guys not showing up mentally for this one and making it a lot tougher than it has to be.
  9. Honestly, go to it. Its a fun atmosphere. I think @Antti_Laxative has been to a few of them if memory serves me correctly.
  10. I agree, you shouldn't have many B's if you're last in the division. More like lots of C's and D's. You might have 2-3 B's at the most with at least 4 F's. @IllaZilla if you want, you could produce a similar article for our site if you feel so inspired. It may not be a bad thing to have to publish during the All Star break without the normal game-to-game grind pushing it off the radar faster.
  11. Did Mark Parrish play for them? I know that he's involved with that company somehow. Was Sorem there with his group of ex-college player studs? How many classes are there?
  12. That's a big win for Iowa. This is a huge week for them with so many divisional games. A big chance to pull away from the crowd.
  13. Meh...Acciari's goal doesn't matter if Stalock doesn't give up that yogurt soft goal to Trocheck a few minutes before that.
  14. Go to it and enjoy it. I remember when it was in Elk River in 2014. So glad I went home to be there. Not sure where you'd hold it in Mankato but I'd imagine the city could make it pretty special. Will we see East vs. West game?!?! It'd be good to see the Mavericks get some love...
  15. Panthers' Last Second Goal Dooms Wild in 5-4 Loss A soft goal given up by Stalock lets the Panthers tie it up and then a last second deflection wins it. Too bad considering how much the Wild dominated long stretches of the game. I thought the 3rd line of Eriksson Ek, Kunin and Foligno were again outstanding. I would imagine Stalock falls on the sword after this game; instead of just saying its no big deal like Dubnyk would. I have full game recap, Iowa Wild highlights and prospect news too...
  16. We looked even better when he wasn't centering the 4th line against Dallas. Donato can do two things Koivu can't do even when he's healthy...forecheck and shoot.
  17. (shrugs) We'll see. I think Mayhew could be ok if you had him on the 4th line. The cool thing with Sokolov, is his shooting side is the opposite of where you'd typically have Dumba (or Laine and Ovechkin).
  18. I hate to say it but Suter overall has been pretty good this season. Offensively, he's been more involved which is needed especially in a season where Dumba's offensive game has fallen off of a cliff.
