  9. Listened postgame radio on way home (from BSU-Army). Evanson said changes coming on D. Said Faber should not be best D-man in the ice.
  10. The NCHC's University of North Dakota held off a big, tough Big Ten opponent University of Wisconsin 2-0 Saturday night in Grand Forks to win the 2023 NCAA Icebreaker Tournament before 11,000 at Ralph Engelstad Arena. At Sanford Center, in Bemidji, Minn., the BSU Beavers of the CCHA defeated Atlantic Hockey's Army West Point 3-2 in OT before 2,000 for consolation. UND and BSU co-hosted the tourney this year. An annual kickoff to the American collegiate hockey season, the Icebreaker was created by the Hockey Commissioners Association in 1997. It spotlights clubs from four different conferences each October. Those four clubs receive an exemption to exceed by two games the NCAA's 34-game regular season cap. The Big 10's University of Minnesota hosts the 2024 Icebreaker in October at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. That will feature Air Force of the Atlantic, Nebraska-Omaha of the NCHC and UMass out of Hockey East. 2023 Icebreaker Scores: Friday UND 7 Army 3 Wisconsin 4 BSU 3 OT Saturday UND 2 Wisconsin 0 BSU 3 Army 2 OT
  11. Is Faber eligible rookie of the year? Ope, sorry, saw Berdard play....
  12. The Icechipper has moved to Bemidji, Minn., and this season will be following the CCHA's Bemidji State University. Will also be at the NCHC's University of North Dakota contests at Ralph Engelstad Arena for a few contests. Was on hand as the NCAA Icebreaker tournament commenced at Bemidji's Sanford Center Friday with Big 10 Wisconsin Badgers defeating the Beavers 4-3 in overtime before 2,200, including a good showing of Wisconsin fans. Meanwhile, in Grand Forks, the Fighting Hawks rolled the Army West Point Black Knights before 10,000 at the Ralph. Army and West Point switch U.S. Highway 2 rinks tonight for the nonconference conclusion. What college clubs are you following this season?
  13. Fair question here: should Chicago rookie Connor Bedard be awarded a third assist on his first NHL goal against Boston Wednesday.....
  14. Thanks for sharing this. Always have enjoyed Melrose. Saw him play several times, full mullet sans helmet, at Winnipeg Arena.
  15. Working out of town and watching all three games on ESPN tonight in hotel room. Impressed with presentation, and with Bedard's poise with puck on his stick.
  16. By approx. $4 million. That's what Wild banking on with Hartman at $5 million next year.
  17. Must think the cap will rise. Coach and GM long gone by the time these deals expire.....
  18. Means everybody but Spurgeon healthy, I guess. Iowa a couple cornfields away if somebody gets ill.
  19. Good idea....Bemidji State University. He's also played some wing.....
  20. Wild will watch waiver wire for defenseman, one would think.....
  21. Wild C/RW Ryan Hartman, per team, re-signs at three years at $4 million annual. Bettman, according to league story, this week said cap to rise to approx. $90 million, or an increase of about $4 million.
  22. Did not see it but AP reported Jared Spurgeon injured on hit by Reese Johnson of Chicago in Thursday exhibition game. Connor Dewar dropped mitts with Johnson in that contest.
