  1. I would like to mention the 2020 1st round Flyers selection (23rd overall) Tyson Foerster. I think we all can realize the Flyers are in need of scoring and this kid is someone who seems to have to knack for just that. He also has some size and can play Center or Wing. I guess my question to all of you is do you think he has any chance of cracking the Flyers 2022-23 roster that is in need of scoring and giving this kid a shot? I think he just might be worth a shot. This past 2021-22 year in 13 games for the OHL Barrie Colts he netted 6 goals and 5 helpers. In 2019-20 for the same Barrie Colts in 62 gameshe had 36 goals and 44 assists.
  2. Done.... Nah. They aren't done until Colorado wins 4 games in the series. When a team has McDavid and even Draisaitl with players to contribute along the way such as E. Kane, Nugent Hopkins, and Hyman I wouldn't count them out especially at home. I am not going to say the Oilers are going to come back and win the series as I thought they would before the series started, but I do think they are not counted out yet.
  3. Breaking News!!!!! Chuck Fletcher saw that the KHL was offering him the highest contract in the league and he thought that Radulov must be something special if he is getting that sort of offer so Chuckie upped the offer and added a few extra years to it. He said I can't let that sort of talent get away.
  4. How the Rangers got back to the NHL players and are still standing. Look at the build of the roster. First the kid line. All have been productive and all drafted in the 1st round by the Rangers and developed. There are others like Kreider, Lundkvist, K. Miller, Schneider, and Strome all home grown and developed players Also the goalie Shesterkin was drafted by the Rangers. All these home grown players are contributing to the success of this team. The Rangers have also had success in adding players like Zibanejad, Fox, Panarin, Trouba, Motte, Lindgren, Goodrow, and Copp. They have also all contributed along the way. This is what a successful organization looks like with a lot of home grown that is developed correctly and then they add the correct pieces to that.
  5. Hey at least he is going home where he has something in common with his country. They are both falling apart.
  6. Nicklas Backstom has the soft hands to provide the sweet passes from anywhere it seems in the offensive zone and because he has a pure shooter in Alex Ovechkin who has a rocket of a shot and great placement it works like magic a lot of the time. That pair gets my vote.
  7. Both of these players have had great careers. Getzlaf is the one that is most likely going to make it into the HOF while Spezza will make it into the Ring Of Honor for the Ottawa Senators. Ryan Getzlaf has to go down as one of the best puck dishers in the league. His passing skills were a thing of beauty.
  8. I agree with everyone that Brunette has to be the choice here. The quick transition of Quenneville resigning could have been a disaster for a very talented team, but he kept the team steady and continued them rolling throughout the season to the Presidents Trophy.
  9. First, I don't believe Nemec will be available at #5 when Philadelphia picks. I then see the writing on the wall with Chuck and his thing for the smaller staured players. So Savoie will be passed over. Whether they move down to get a 2nd round selection which honestly I hope they do because I believe there is a lot of talent in this draft and the more pick the better, I think that would be the best move.
  10. You could say that Vasilevskiy who is also one of the top goalies in the league also shut down one of the best offenses in the Florida Panthers in sweep fashion just the round before. So top goalies can do some amazing things many times. I also think that Tampa also had a bad game and they will improve because they are a much better squad then they played tonight. This series is going to be a fantastic series and I predicted the Rangers in 7 and I believe it will need all 7 games. The "Igor is better" chant was cute and on this night he was the better of the two goalies. We shall see how that goes the remainder of the series.
  11. Still he is only 18 years old. I have to give him more of a shot to develope. Hronek and Kempny were on that team weren't they?
  12. I get that, but 4 games isn't a huge amount to determine what he is actually capable of. There is a reason he is an Elite prospect and the scouts have him ranked as one of the top two defencemen in the draft. He must have done something right along the way. He is only 18 years old and I am not going to give up on him for 4 games.
  13. Having a long period off between series is not always the best. The Rangers are not far off from game play while the Lightning have had 9 games between game play. It may take the Lightning a bit to get back into the game time action after that layoff and for them it better be in the Game 2 or they will find themselves possibly down 2 games to zilch heading back to Tampa. Another thing is they are dealing with Shesterkin and not Bobrosky and Campbell. Tampa is a very quality team that can come back, but it is going to be a lot more difficult against Shesterkin then the goalies in the previous rounds.
  14. I wouldn't be all surprised if Chuck does not select Savoie because of his 5'9" size. I honest feel he is going to select the Czech defender in Jiricek which will get many in an uproar but he has substantial size, and an explosive skater and has some offensive potential as well.
  15. My vote went to Matthews and it is because I feel he is the most valuable to his team which is what the award is all about. I fully understand that the two other players up for this award are still standing in the playoffs and McDavid and Shesterkin are very important to their teams. McDavid certainly can carry a game on his back, but he also has another top player on his team in Draisaitl to do this with. Shesterkin definitely had an amazing year for the Rangers and is a huge reason they are still standing in the playoffs. The Rangers though are also a very well rounded club with Mika, The Bread Man, Fox, The Kid Line, and Kreider. With Matthews he does have Mitch Marner who is great, but not quite on the same level as Draisaitl. Then they have a few other players like Tavaras, Nylander who is streaky, the young Bunting, and Rielly who is good, but not the team the Rangers have or the top tier player the Oilers have to go along with McDavid along with E.Kane, Nurse, Hyman, and Nugent Hopkins.
  16. Just another bone head miss opportunity by the Flyers Front Office. McClennon could have been a great possible line mate to Savoie if they draft him, but they will probably F that up to.
  17. Still rebuilding of course. I put a laughing emoji, but really that is extremely sad.
  18. Don't worry the Flyers will eventually sign Cale Makar when he is about 38 years old to probably a 7 year deal for 8 million per year.
  19. I agree with you and if they can move Laughton and free up some money while possibly getting younger in the process with draft picks or whatever than I would do it. We all know he is making too much money for what he is providing to the team. This would also give the Flyers all the opportunity to let Lindblom play on the 2nd line where I think he belongs.
  20. Right now I think they get more in return for Konecny than they would get for Farabee. So I would be more inclined to keep Farabee and see what happens for a bit longer and shop Konecny and see what we get in offers. The one guy I would attempt to unload is Scott Laughton. He cannot be a part of the 2nd line next season or even the team at all. I really think that they need to move up Oskar Lindblom to the 2nd line as they are not utilizing his talents correctly. I understand they wanted to minimize his minutes last season, but stashing him on the bottom lines with his sort of talent is not the way to do it. Oskar Lindblom needs to move up and Scott Laughton needs to move the hell out.
  21. He can dig. Hell I'll give him the shovel to dig his way all the way through to China to get him as far away from the club as he can get.
  22. I know Ristolainen goes no where. It is just more responding to the many that seem to think magically he will disappear and some other GM will be stupid enough to take on his ridiculous salary. He is stuck on the D pairing. What gets me though is because of stupidity of the GM they will still be hit. I highly doubt no other team will take JVR unless they are stupid so the team will still be hit in someway because of his ridiculous salary.
  23. Forsberg is overpaid and that does not mean we need to add another player on the roster that is very streaky and possibly won't reach his potential. This organization seems to go that route too often. As for how we get that 30+ goal scorer is wait and hope for the Farabee's to possibly reach that level and the others that are coming up in the future. That is what a rebuild is all about. Players that have been in the system for a few years and have exhibited to be streaky and I will give it to Konecny he has been good at times, but how long do you give him. Do we give him a raise like Forsberg and hope which would just add to the awful mistakes or try and trade him off? This team needs to start weeding out the baggage and start going with the future. I am not saying Konecny is old , but if we can get another young player or solid draft picks I say go that way.
  24. What the hell can he really do? He is so strapped with the salary cap and the players like JVR and Risto make such ridiculous salaries, I don't think any other team will be stupid enough to take them on. Chuck Fletcher is pretty much at the mercy of other teams because of the stupity he has done with past players. Even with Konecny, I don't think he is going to get true value for him. So really in my opinion I think we have got to hope for some of these young players to really step up and improve. I don't see Chuck Fletcher and the way he has run things in the past doing anything very productive to help this team.
