  1. I missed the Plekanec call. He's never really been that type of player from what I remember. But I still haven't seen it.

Vanek is playing with his head up his... you know what. Looks lost out there. Not sure what's going on there but I think any chances of him getting a contract with Montreal died off completely because of his performance and body language during this series versus the Rangers.

Never count us out! Never say die!

Moore will surely get at least 2.

  2. Thank you Rod. Also HF, I agree 100%. One forward to keep an eye on from Hamilton would be Gabriel Dumont, who played a couple of games last season. Also, look for Parros/Bourque to be put in and out of the lineup. Notice Rene Bourque isn't in my line up, I feel he is more of an asset in the press box, where an injury is not very likely to occur. As long as he remains un-injured, he could be one of Montreal's biggest trading assests (apart from Desharnais, who I feel if he doesn't have a great bounce back season would fetch a high return).

The entire first line played for Montreal last season. Brenden Gallagher appears to be the only NHL ready prospect, but lock out or not, the Habs want him to have atleast 1 year of pro experience due to his small frame.

I don't think so. The have an AHL all star goalie in Desjardins, WHL 50 goal scorer Gallagher, Holland who amassed 100+ points in the WHL, Bournival, Ellis, and Beaulieu have won the Memorial cup in the last 2 years and Tinordi is an absolute BEAST! The only thing this team really lacks is veteran leadership which may hurt them in the long run but every where else, the team is absolutely stacked.

Last year was disappointing for the Dogs', yes, but last year they didn't have good depth, and now they are being called "too deep"...

  4. Another nice job Habsguy! The one obvious miss to me is Kyle Palmieri of the Ducks. I would have put him in the top 3 actually. He scored 33 goals in 50+ games in his first year in the AHL and added 4 goals in 18 games playing sparingly for the Ducks during a call up. He as star written all over him.Agree with all the other choices, although Scott Glennie is a guy to keep an eye on for Dallas. He had a slow start to his pro career only scoring 12 times in a full year of AHL for the Texas Stars, but I still think Braydon Schenn's former junior linemate will make a name for himself next year. Would not have included him in the top 10 though, just because of his AHL strugggles. Great job once again!

Kyle Palmieri has played more than 25 NHL games, which was why I didn't put him in. But thank you Jammer for the comment!

  5. @hf101 thanks for the suggestion ;)

I think Strome definitely makes the Islander's next season. His hands are like silk, amazing skater and amazing vision plus the NHL ready shot. Only way he doesn't make the Islanders is if brass thinks he needs to play in the OHL/AHL (not sure if he's AHL eligible yet) to make sure he adds about 10-20 pounds of muscle.

@flyerrod I think I have Wellwood placed perfectly. He may have had a good post season, but I think the 6 ahead of him are going to be better overall NHL players in the long haul. If this series was called "Habsguy26's best playoff rookies" or whatever he'd be right behind Krieder.
